Joey seems to be the hands down favorite in this thread, and I agree that he's really annoying. My vote goes to Lyra though. I've been called every day I play so she can inform me that she JUST watched her Marill evolve... How many times is that stupid thing going to evolve?

I've caught a shiny magikarp, croagunk, and starly on Platinum, and the red Gyardos and a drowsee in SoulSilver. I still have my first shiny from Emerald too: a tropius.

The number cruncher was someone on the gamefaqs Pokemon Platinum Number Crunchers Guild named Tealdeer.

I got a little help from a number cruncher on another message board who got my correct SID... And now I am looking at a shiny charmander!

I've gone over it and over it. I think my problem is with my SID. I'm not very good with binary code and you need too much of it to get your SID.

No STD (that I know of...) Just an irritating problem. It would help if I really knew what I was doing in the first place.

*Sigh* I seem to be the oldest on this page at least. I'm 31, turning 32 in May. I still have a game boy and yellow and red, plus Emerald, Pearl, Platinum, and SoulSilver. My wife who is 27 plays too and she also has platinum and HeartGold. My 11 year old daughter plays too, with Diamond...

I do an awful lot of breeding, so I naturally like HGSS better. The breeding mechanic is a lot easier to exploit for nature and IVs. Plus, there is a lot more to do after the elite 4

I am trying to RNG my first shinys, and everything seems to go perfectly. I get the correct nature, ability, and gender, but the pokemon is not shiny. All the troubleshooting I have says that I have entered an incorrect SID. I have 2 natural shinies : Modest magikarp with IVs 15/16/7/4/18/24...

I like regigigas' sprite. Its HUGE! Spiritomb's is cool too.
