I don't think I've ever held a gym more than 5 minutes because I don't play in a group, nor do I live near one.

I think once there are more 6 and above level gyms things will balance out since the attacker only gets six pokemon. It's the 1st, 2nd and 3rd level gyms that are pretty easy to wear down since you get lots more tries.

I'd love to see some mechanism in the gyms to enable lower level characters to actually effectively take part, maybe have a tiered system of gym occupation? Not sure how that would work with the teams but Niantic is smart I'm sure they could figure something out. As it is people are going to...

I think it depends on how purist you want to be, ultimately it's just a game and however you play if that's how you get enjoyment out of it that's how you should play. Unless it involves trolling and bullying other players that's where my tolerance stops.

It depends on how well they listen to the player base and keep improving the product. Odds seem pretty good since the original Pokemon still has a pretty good fan base after all these years and they certainly seem to be moving into the right direction with Pokemon Go.
