Pokémon Amie "Affection" and Happiness are different things. :) Happiness is the same as it always was in the previous gens, whereby battling with the Pokémon, not letting them faint, giving them massages and travelling with them will increase their happiness.

Loving it so far! I'm trying to take it slow with lots of breaks so I don't rush through the entire thing ;) Got to give a shout out to Pokémon-Amie, it's really caught my imagination a lot more than I thought it would! The 3D models are gorgeous and being a big Sugimori fan it's amazing to see...

ZachLMedia, it gives 50% of what the lead Pokémon gets to each of your other Pokémon :)

I've turned it off. It'll be useful for levelling low-level Pokémon after I've beaten the game, but I feel it's too cheap for a first playthrough.

Good and interesting question. :) I guess it's just different strokes for different folks - I love drawing on-model and really don't enjoy trying to make things "stylised", but I know others prefer the other way round. Believe me, I've tried to go the stylised route but I don't get much...
