Hi, just want to introduce myself, My name is Mikaela but you can call me Mikki for short. I am 14 years of age turning 15 on April 21, 2011. I live in the Philippines. I am a very soft, quiet and clumsy person who loves to write and to interact with others. I've always been addicted to reading and writing, particularly fantasy, romance, suspense, and thriller. I was a night owl growing up not from birth but by habit. I was the kid to hide under the covers with a flashlight in a mad push to finish the last chapter. The worlds I read seemed so tangible as to have always existed. That someone could build a world big and vivid enough to swallow my house and four walls hooked me. Soon I found myself continuing the narration in my head after the book ended. Putting it down on paper was a natural step. But writing for me was, and is, far from easy. I find it draining and incredibly frustrating, like trying to finger paint Rembrandt. I've tried to kick the habit several times, at least five or six. Yet I return. I guess we're stuck with each other. In a way it's incredibly comforting. I don't know how long I'll stick with it this time, but I know I'll be back some day. Maybe next time I'll even have something worth finishing. Anyway, thanks for listening. I live in Asia so there isn't a lot of native speakers or writing tables to hash out ideas with. Even if there were, finding a writer interested in fantasy makes it more difficult. Just through reading, writing, and self-editing I'm conscious of improvement but find it slow going. Finding a forum like this and talking with a few writers more experienced than myself would greatly help.

Precious 'me' time regularly involves writing, painting, taking photos, astronomy, music, browsing the net, cooking, cinema, eating out, Pokémon, and hillwalking.
