I don't know about that... Perhaps the education system in my country is different than in others? In my area (if I could remember), exams are in about Nov-Dec and May-Jun.

To clarify though; I do not think the opera scene "gave away" Celes, as the main character. That is simply the point in the game, in which she became vastly more interesting for me, more so than Terra.

That is the beauty of Final Fantasy VI, I could just as easily say that Locke's involvement sets him as the main character, or Edgars role as king of Figaro, or Ramuh for gifting them with magicite & the knowledge of it.

Final Fantasy VI doesn't have a single "main character", it has an over-lapping cast that are all integral to the plot. That's why I love it ^_^.

Celes would have no burst, but Terras esper form was readily available.

This bit of the game should occupy you for a few hours.

You now need to put together a party to search for Terra. Your party should consist of Celes, Locke, Edgar, and Sabin for optimum results. Your first destination is Figaro Castle. Here you'll learn a lot more about Edgar and Sabin (if you took my advise and brought them both). Take this opportunity to stock up on items, and to get the Flash and Drill tools for Edgar. DISCOUNT: If you put either Edgar or Sabin at the head of you're party the shopkeepers in Figaro Castle will sell you everything at half price. When you're ready to proceed talk to the man that's down the left stairs and have him head for Kohlingen. In Kohlingen, go to the house in the upper left, then the one in the upper right to learn about Locke's past. In the Café you'll see Shadow, and you can recruit him if you only have three people in your party, but if this is your first time through this game don't worry about recruiting him (he is still likely to run off at any time). Stock up on the usual before heading out. Before going south to your next destination head to the small house to the north. Search the house to find a Hero Ring.

From Kohlingen, head south, then east and north. You can stop by Jidoor on the way if you want to, but there's not much you can do here right now. If you haven't noticed, Zozo is not your typical town. You will be attacked both in the streets and in the buildings by some of the strongest monsters you've faced yet. The Hades Gigas and SlamDancers can dish out some major damage, so use strong single attacks such as Suplex and Drill (Chainsaw once you get it) to take them out fast. Also, have Celes use Runic when facing the SlamDancers to avoid their level 2 spells. Search the town for the many treasures it offers. In the northeast building there's a clock puzzle where you must set the clock to the right time. The proper way to do this is to ask around town. Everyone in Zozo is a liar, so any time that they tell you is wrong. Use this to narrow down the time, then just guess until you get it. For those of you that just want the answer (quickly look away if you want to solve this on your own), the time is 6 : 10 : 50. After entering the correct time, you can get the Chainsaw, Edgar's best tool.

After you've found the treasures, head to the entrance, for the tall building in the southern part of town. Keep heading up until you come to what looks like an open door. Go into it, then press left to jump between buildings (but first get Thief Glove room above door, just before barrier). Keep jumping and climbing, and eventually you will get to Dadaluma. At the top of the tower, you will find Terra and an esper, Ramuh. He calls out to the espers in four magicite pieces, which will enable characters to learn magic. Your next stop, now, is the Magitek Research Facility in Vector.

What part of the game are you at?

I believe Celes is the protagonist, the opera scene sold it for me.

Do you believe Celes is the protagonist, due to her involvement in Act 2's prologue, or do you believe Terra is the protagonist, due to her plot involvement from the beginning?

I played that game before XII as well, & thoroughly enjoyed it :D .
