I'm planning on writting a pokemonxpokemon fanfiction, and since I have no experience in pokemon fanfics what are some cliches you avid readers have come across? I prefer not to give too many details away yet as I don't want people stealing my idea (I'm paranoid I know).

I have a series of one-shots on Team Rocket characters I finished and a Giovanni/team rocket au backstory on hiatus. I also have a pokemonxpokemon romance in the works. Hopefully not too cliche

Idk if this counts as a cliche, but I tend to make things too epic and serious. So much so that it's not fun or enjoyable because it's too heavy handed
