First time I used a fishing rod I found a shiny magikarp.

So far (less than 2 days since I got the game) spearow, poliwag, gastly and metagross. Out of those I had only caught spearow at the time they appeared in my pelago.

One of the main reasons given given for a new version of them (pretty much the only reason) was for regular forms of Kanto Pokémon, which can be obtained through the re-released and sent across using bank, so there is absolutely zero need to go back to Kanto right now.

We last got Kanto games in February, so before Sun and Moon they were the most recently released.

The answer has already been given by Gamefreak, it's in the demo. If you try and transfer Greninja over, the Professor says it won't obey you until you have obtained 2 (I think) trial badges, so they will fill the role that gym badges had.

What the leaks have crossed out shouldn't have any bearing on that video as it is just titled "10 wanted Alola forms" Nothing in the title has anything to suggest they would be likely or are still possibilities.

So just a day or so after pokemon specific z-moves are confirmed we get the first mention of them in a leak. That's not suspicious at all...

Clutching at straws a bit, but it's possible they aren't revealing all Alolan forms like they don't reveal all the Pokemon, and are just revealing Gen 1 alolan forms to appeal to genwunners

Logic tells us that anyway. If a Pokemon evolves (Darwinian) to adapt to its surroundings, then when it evolves (Pokemon) it isn't going to be the same as the unadapted one.
