They wanted to balance the original 3 starters. By making one of the starters' final evolutions a dragon type would mean that every child with sense would pick a charmander as it would give them a huge advantage in game.

Is this considered a theory? It should be considered general knowledge. Of course pokemon is based off the real world. Why else would we have entire regions based of the geography of America, France and Japan?

I guess the world would be just as it is today, only we'd have a large selection of pokemon being bred in captivity due to the endangerment of pokemon. I imagine pokemon battling would be against all laws, just as it is with pitting two animals to fight against one another. In the end, I guess...

Hacking 4-5th gen games is much more complicated than hacking 3rd gen, so as to date there are no map hacks of any 4-5th gen game. 3rd gen maps = adding and removing tiles. Simple, right? 4-5th gen maps = lots of dimensions (3D buildings, different levels of ground etc.)
