  • Not knowing what to do next isn't exactly "lots of trouble", I'd say. I don't know what to do at that point either, and I can't make someone reply to you.
    Hey there! You seemed a little worried that I would come down and lock your thread, but don't worry. We haven't had a thread for that in a while, so even though I'm a little skeptical about it, it's all good.
    Hey I don't know if you remember me because it's been two years since I last logged on. But I thought I drop by the website for old time sake.
    I am so sorry to decieve you ;__;
    Swift Swim indeed looks like it involves Water in some special way, but it doesn't. XD
    The truth is tat, when I started this hack, I called it Aqua Blue (like Fire Red/Leaf Green) because I was too lazy to use my stupid brain. xD
    Later on, since there is only 1 starter in this hack, and since it has the ability Swift Swim, I changed the name to that, I like that ability and the name as some sort of nice sounding. ^^
    I tried both of those emails and it said neither one was using Windows Live Messenger yet.
    Also, I don't think my title screen can have so many colors at once.
    hey! i might be coming back on the hacking scene :)
    school this semester has literally one class that i might have to study for, the rest is woodshop so ill be studying scripting and getting back into the scene with my spare time.
    I will contact you when a spot opens up in a Fresh Start, but will you please delete your post in the IC so it doesn't get cluttered.
    havnt really had anytime whatsoever to do anything on the hack... i might get around to it one of these days but for right now its at the bottom of my priorities.
    Ok, so about, your, Vampire Kisses question. I dont think using the same name matters unless both heroes/heroines have the same name, and the stories have similar themes.
    Why just Vampire Kisses? I honestly dont think it matters, and I didnt read the book either. Take it up with some one with more legal status if your actually planning on publishing and selling, otherwise just like minor stuff or just for fun, it dosent matter at all.

    Also, I've been to college too. As an English major. Moreover, I'm currently in graduate school for publishing, so I also know what different positions do in relation to a manuscript. (Even the ones that are technically not professional, such as a beta reader.) I can safely say that, no, beta readers don't just check grammar and spelling. It's likely that your friend's friend was thinking of a copy-editor, which is both professional and essentially someone who checks those kinds of details but shies away from modifying the actual content of a piece.

    Besides, even if that's all they did, why would the Beta Thread have betas that are specifically geared towards checking plot and characterization? Also, why would you ask for a character beta reader if you think one wouldn't check anything but your spelling and grammar? Sincerely curious here, just to get a good idea of what you were asking the people on the Beta Thread to do for you.

    Lastly, if I may ask, where exactly did this point even come from? Last I checked, in my first VM to you this month, I was pointing out that beta readers might not be comfortable working with you because you seem to be hostile and resistant to listen to any of the people who try to give you advice (given what you said in the A/N of your fic). I never said anything about what a beta reader does.
