Flying takes 1/2 damage from fighting types. No idea why they all have a normal typing. But now we have roost so we can't have pure flying types.

You would have been slightly accurate five decades ago but Japanese first names are getting so unique and diverse that it's extremely hard to guess the main characters' names. They often go for the most common name at the time, though.
