  • Yeah, that's quite a gap...

Alright, just very busy. @_@ Last couple months of the PhD now, and next week back on the coast as I wrap up and for the between-thesis-and-job part (whenever that is) (flatmate doing the same, etc).

    Yourself.
Neither have I, not outside the harbour or not on a simple ferry anyway! But when parents are paying this time around I am eager to be a cruise person. ;p

Some in America, one in Holland, couple in CSIRO (Sydney or Perth) thus far. More to be done in the next couple months at least.
I try to! But the New Caledonia trip is actually a cruise. :B

PffftHAHAHAHA tenured position now, that's funny. =p No, a post-doc position is what it is called, and I've applied for fellowships too (also postdoc level but a bit fancier/you do your own project with that typically). And idk, if there are jobs at uysd and I can get it then yes, but there's been nothing new posted yet. Other unis/facilities in sydney however.
Yeah, haha. Perth end of the month for a week, and early next year family trip to ~New Caledonia~ woo

Jobs in academia. I am not yet finished PhD but applications started for jobs that one can start a year later. It's weird.
Yeah, I liked Rotorua. Taupo sounds nice!

Very busy recently - after the paper submission had a lot of job applications to fire off with various project proposals required last week, and that's been a drain on time and energy. :< Got some breathing space now though!
For the next month-and-half, yep. Chance of Perth at the end of November, and family holiday very start of next year - cruise to New Caledonia. :B

Cool @ NZ. Enjoy! What part of NZ?
Most of a week - was for another conference. Had an afternoon off so went with a bunch of friends to Bruny Island and ate delicious cheese and oysters. =) Good fun.

What about yourself - any trips or adventures? And you mentioned you might move to the UK? :o
It was good in the end. After my last VM I just was in New Hampshire mostly for a conference but had a hike up a mountain during that. Been back for ages and in Tasmania for a week.
