I usually go both ways even if it's just for the EXP. For what I pick first: depends on what I try to do. If I want a Pokemon from the Safari Zone in my party I try to keep things short and EXP low and go through the bike route. If I'm just doing it for the EXP I might just pick whatever...

Most of the time I went for the three status removing flutes. It's just nice having a permanent item to heal Sleep, Confusion and Infatuation. Granted, two of those can be removed by switching out, but oh well. I went for the special glass furniture in one of my first playthroughs. But it never...

It's nice to see people actually care enough that they're willing to communicate things. But I do get what you mean. I say disagree, for now, though. Everyone should try to make some art every now and then.
