  • That was actually Rosa saying that. Hilda seems to be pretty liked by the fandom, although officialdom is another story. No animated counterparts, nor any cross-canon counterparts, period, besides a very poor one in Adventures. :(
    As for the girls...

May, Dawn, and Serena all bicker over who was the cutest/prettiest on the show.

    [IMG][IMG]

May: I'm the original Contest Girl!

Dawn: But, you didn't wear a pretty pink dress like me! And, I had co-star status!

Serena: My pink dresses are prettier! And, I got to kiss Ash! He likes me way more than he ever will you two sluts!

Dawn: Liar! Me and Ash were best friends! He loved me the best, and you know it!

May: You're both wrong! Ash always protected me and took care of me the most! He clearly likes me the best! You two are both whores in micro miniskirts! Put some pants on!

Serena: I'm the whore? Says who, Miss Underage D-Cup?

Meanwhile, Lyra desperately wants to be part of their clique.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Lyra: Why won't they ever let me join their group? I was on the show, too. Sure, as a guest star, but still.

Misty: *annoyed* Stop wasting your time, Miss Mario. If you didn't do Contests and wear cutesy, fanservicey outfits, then they don't care.

Iris: Ash is such a kid! Why are they even wasting their time fighting over him?

Meanwhile, others sit on the sidelines.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Kris: Why would any of them want to be in the show? It's sexist garbage. You're stuck doing some beauty pageant sidequest and playing second-fiddle to a non-aging preteen loser with an annoying yellow rat.

Green: And, don't forget having your body be exploited for "eye candy." Gag me.

Hilda: Looks like I dodged a huge bullet.

Rosa: Why doesn't anyone like me?
The later gen boys all bicker over who looks the best in red/blue/black, oblivious to the fact that a) they're Red clones, and b) the only reason they exist is to be a new outfit for another more famous Red clone.

Meanwhile, Gold and Brendan can sit on the sidelines and act smug about the fact that they were allowed to defy the red/blue/black dress code and have an existence beyond just being someone else's wardrobe. ^_^
    ROFL! {XD}

    Adding on to it...

Lucas: *tackles Hilbert from behind* No, you all stole MY colors! I wore red/blue/black first!

Red: ... *Gives an evil smile as he watches his many clones fight each other, none of them knowing that they exist for the sole purpose of providing a new outfit for the Eternal 10 Year Old on the show, his most famous clone, and that they will never carry the same prominence and importance to the franchise as the true original boy dressed in red/blue/black, Red of the original games.*

Gold: *standing off to the side with Brendan* Man, did we dodge a bullet, or what? I mean, your white hair looks kinda' weird, but at least your not a clone like those other guys. Glad I'm not the only one who isn't part of the Blue Army, you know?

    Brendan: *annoyed* It's a hat.

Sun: *walks in* Hey, guys, I'm the new Pokémon boy!

    Brendan: *sighs* Great, another one.

Gold: *whistles out to Lucas, Hilbert, Nate, and Calem* Yo, fresh meat! *points to Sun*

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
*Lucas, Hilbert, Nate, and Calem stop fighting and glare at Sun*

    Sun: *nervous* Oh, crap.
Pretty much into an array of Japanese mobile games these days. xD And a work program, lol.
I used to go to Wattpad back when I wrote more, sadly I have permanent writers block these days. u_u
Everything about the Ultra Recon people weirds me out, just like everything about Ultra Beasts.

This generation has had some good ideas and intentions, but a lot of it just feels like bad fanfiction, IMO. SM's storytelling also seems to have come at the expense of replayability. The games have more cutscenes than exploration, and the player character arguably isn't even the true protagonist of the story (with it being Lillie instead).
Well, I'd hope that it's larger, given that these aren't sequels.

That being said, I've been hearing rumors about Lusamine being replaced as the main villain, and I *really* hope that isn't the case. She's the franchise's first female main villain (and one of the more interesting ones, to boot), and it would be such a massive waste.
This may sound harsh, but that's honestly the case with every male protagonist past Gen 3. So tired of these Red/Ash clones dressed in blue/red/black. :rolleyes2:
There's an unused map icon that looks like Kris hidden in HGSS' data, which means that Lyra was a late addition. Given her strong resemblances to both Mario and RBY Red, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo meddling was involved. :rolleyes2:

That being said, there is also a noticeable trend of GF wanting to introduce a new player character with every remake. Since RBY only had a single male protagonist, FRLG could do it without replacing anyone, but that isn't the case with later remakes, so GF picks the most "expendable" protagonist and gives them the boot. Kris was only in Crystal instead of all three Gen 2 games, so she was seen as less "important" than Gold, and out she went for the Mario cosplayer.

GF was more subtle with ORAS. Brendan isn't officially considered replaced, but the ORAS boy hardly resembles him and is really just another guy wearing his clothes. Brendan was always depicted as having black hair, brown eyes, and fair skin, while the ORAS boy has brown hair, blue eyes, and a bronze tan. No other non-replaced protagonist changed that drastically, not even May from the same games. I wouldn't be surprised if the ORAS boy was originally intended to be a new character and was turned into "Brendan" later on.

Given past trends, things don't bode well for Lucas in DP remakes. While Dawn was a main character on the show for 4 years and became a fan favorite character, Lucas only got a very minor movie cameo and otherwise only seemed to exist to give Ash a new outfit. Not even Generations bothered to include him like all the other non-sequel male protagonists. That Lucas also happens to be a blatant Red clone, as well as arguably a male version of Dawn, doesn't help his case either.

At the very least, Lucas will get the "Orlando" treatment and be redesigned to the point of being barely recognizable while still officially being the "same" character, but I wouldn't be surprised if he got outright replaced. I don't think Lucas was ever as popular as even Brendan, and nowadays, he's probably one of the most forgotten player characters. Even Kris still gets remembered for being the first female protagonist, and Green gets remembered for almost becoming the first female protagonist (and being left out of everything Red and Blue are included in). But, Lucas? His biggest claim to fame is being Ash's DP outfit. You don't get any more "expendable" than that.
Personal bias or not, but GSC's story works so much better with Kris than Gold. You get the story of the next generation's hero being a girl instead of just a younger version of the previous hero, which feels far more special and meaningful. I also think Silver's story works better when the protagonist is a girl (he comes off as more threatening, and his defeat is more satisfying), and need I mention the attractive, charming men (ie. Eusine and Lance) who help you along the way?

Obviously, HGSS screwed it up by needlessly ditching Kris for a doofy Mario cosplayer, but HGSS screwed up a lot of things. That's why I don't like remakes and don't want to see any more of them.
That doesn't surprise me. He definitely gives off a "Red's little brother" vibe.

Of course, I prefer the story with Red having a younger sister instead. The Original Boy and the Original Girl. :)

One thing I can say is that Lucas isn't exactly the most masculine-looking boy...

They basically took Red and made a "girly" version of him. :P DP Lucas wears the same gold bracelet as Dawn, and his Platinum outfit is probably as frilly as you'll ever see a male PC look. It's obvious why the beret/scarf/bracelet never made it into Ash's DP design.

For the record, I have no problem with effeminate guys. I'd love to see more "girly" male PCs, in fact. What I'm tired of are Red clones dressed in the same red/blue/black color scheme, all just because of the show's insistence on keeping Ash and his Yellow Rat around forever.

Well... puberty was certainly good to him.
