  • :/ well, can't stop people from chasing after free stuff. Do you know anyone who has joined the network? If so, any feedback that they've given you about the services? I would put a nice big asterisk next to the word "free" as far as that network is concerned haha because I bet the strings attached are terrible.

As far as current news goes, I'm basically a hermit living under a rock these days so I haven't heard about this Indian variant of corona. The last piece of news I did hear from India was about the oxygen shortage, but that must've been in March. So are you now under another lockdown indefinitely?

Hopefully it won't be the last period of relative peace for us, even though a lot has changed since those days, and of course we're getting older. It's why I'm totally fine with "living" in the past, by watching old movies, shows, any cartoons which still hold up even today and thanks to emulators I can also dive back into older games, many of which I didn't get to play during their time. Music too, I mainly listen to albums from my high school days because the sound hadn't turned crappy to what counts as music these days. What about you?
So is there any way that the citizens are standing up to this over there? Because if not, then that company is just going to continue its tactics of giving services for free and killing competition.

At some point people will have to decide when they've finally had enough of this, because how many lockdowns are needed to fix things? Our most recent lockdown ended in March, but there's always a chance of another one coming even with the vaccine roll out going on. Where did that third wave come from?

Haha, I would think the 90s were peaceful...that was my childhood right there! Simpler times for sure, and I wonder if we will ever get peace like that again.
That's the big issue right there, not being able to do anything about it because whichever company you turn to is cheating you in one fashion or another, whether by pricing or substandard services or both :/ no company giving things for free here haha, private or government-run, they're all trying to hustle people out of their money and again, nothing can be done about it except completely disconnecting.

With close to 1000 Pokemon (or have we already gone past the 1000 Pokemon mark now??) available, I see why catching Pokemon can be like doing chores haha especially in the rom hack/fan-made game universe where games are stuffed with as many generations of Pokemon as possible. I still have that drive to catch Pokemon, doesn't matter which game I'm playing, and since I pretty much have to catch many Pokemon for my walkthrough work, I'm glad to still have that drive. For most single Type Pokemon in my collection I make use of TMs and/or Move Tutors so that they have a variety of moves to make up for being only one Type. There are a few Pokemon that I would only catch for the PokeDex, otherwise if they aren't in the game no problem, such as Ditto or Wobbuffet.

Haha I just hope I won't come to regret my decisions and stance as far as all this Covid business goes, I'm just a guy who has grown really tired of it and quite frankly I do not want to spend the rest of my life living like Covid will never really go away. Many people look to have accepted this as their new normal but to me there's nothing normal about any of this, so if I have to go against the "flow" in order to get back some form of normality then I will :)
Unfortunately there are no viable alternatives because each mobile service provider has their own plan and prices, so people are screwed every which way, unless of course they completely disconnect and stop using phones (maybe just using them as modern mp3 players or something).

You're the very first and only person I know of who has that opinion about Eevee xD! No worries, I won't typecast you. To me Eevee is fine, if it's presented to me in a game I'll add it to my collection and evolve it at some point. In Adventures I just thought some of those forms were a tad bit ridiculous, but I get it, we have to see a form for every type. As for that tiger Pokemon I know it, it makes me of old school anime haha so maybe Aethestode was just inspired by an old anime for the design. I think I caught it, am no longer sure. No rush for me as far as Unbound goes :) I'll get to it eventually. Just have to get through (Old) White first...I'm halfway through Johto on my way to Kanto. The original region of the hack sadly is pretty disappointing, most of the routes are empty of people, it's just players and the wild Pokemon :/

Yet countries like Britain are still going forward with rolling AZ out despite the reports, what's up with that?

I won't keep someone from wearing a mask if they feel that they need one, but what's happening now where even healthy people are being forced into wearing masks and being sprayed wherever they go is what I am against. Carrying my own bottle of home-made sanitiser is just one way that I'm going against the flow :) because it makes zero sense that everywhere you go, you're going to be sprayed by different liquids which might not even be hand sanitiser. Every time. It's funny you mention people in villages and remote areas, because those people here found more natural remedies to counter Covid! So they're questioning the roll out of the Sinopharm vaccine, seeing no point in being vaccinated because they already have a "cure".
That issue of data not carrying over is there for mobile data here too, what a rip off huh? The pricing and plans vary from company to company, the internet service provider we are currently connected to has prepay and monthly plans. Like right now I'm online because of a prepay data package, 2GB which lasts 3 days and costs US$2. The data carries over so we have about 6GB now and it will expire on Monday around midnight. The only issue is speeds, very lousy. Otherwise I would be fine with 6GB, it would be enough for mini downloads like podcasts.

Haha yeah, sadly not all the Adventures "original" Pokemon were exactly marvels of design. The multiple Eeveelutions for example. How far have you gone in Unbound so far, what's the story like? The region? Etc

That's insane, even now that has been going on over there? Or now that vaccines are available those drug tests are no longer being done? Over here I haven't heard anything about drug tests, it's mainly been news about the Sinopharm vaccine. All you get is people being told to get vaccinated, but no warnings or information like which ingredients or materials were used to manufacture the product, how many tests (human or animal) have been conducted using the vaccine and also if there are any short or long term health and side effects. Nothing. So I wonder how many people are being smart and are looking into the vaccine online before making their decision.

One major choice is to not comply with all this, even though there's a chance of getting into real trouble with the authorities. I don't enjoy going into town anymore because I won't be allowed entry into shops or other places if I don't have a mask on. At each place you'll find someone present (usually a security guard) who is ready to spray people with what might not even been proper hand sanitising liquid. But it's not like people are going to stop and question that or demand to know why they can't enter without a mask. They've just complied and gone along with this nonsense. So if I have to step into town I carry my own bottle of hand sanitiser, made by my dad. I'm getting to the point where I'm going confront someone about needing a mask for entry because I am sick and tired of people being so stubborn and stupid.
How much do you pay for that plan? Prepay? Pay per month? For mobile I just get the bundle which is for Whatsapp, because the "general" data bundles don't last very long :/ but it's all dubiously priced so you're screwed every which way.

Haha, well I guess it's a good thing to have a big game like Adventures Red to keep you busy in the meantime but I think as far as major updates go Unbound might be done for a while. So you might want to push that "special occasion" forward and prepare to dive in, haha.

The recovery rate here has been super high as well, but still the roll out marches on. Covid deaths are something to take with a bag of salt because even those numbers can be cooked up, it's not to say there haven't been people who've actually died because of Covid but how many of them are there? You don't get specifics from the news reports, certainly not mainstream.

Have any side effect reports come out over there in response to the AstraZeneca? Or so far there hasn't been any trouble? The way a lot of governments and organisations have handled this whole situation has been a disaster and I highly doubt they will turn around and change for the better because a lot of damage has been done in terms of social life, education, the economy, travel, health and so on. It really is up to ordinary people to decide whether or not to carry on with all this.
Thank you. I was able to get Gaia and Kanlara done in such a short time because they weren't as heavy (in terms of content and detail) as the likes of Red Chapter and Clover, but they were worth playing and I hope Gaia v4 is on the way because that's where the post-game side of things was planned to be. The walkthrough available at Gaia Wiki just wasn't detailed enough, although the individual pages have more information, so that's why I chose it.

I was offline because we had applied to get ADSL set up at home, so we couldn't use this data bundle type internet that we usually get. But the cost of the modem and installation are the reason for the delay so we switched back to the data bundle net as something to use in the meantime until we have enough money for the modem and installation. But what I wasn't expecting was for speeds to have gotten so lousy since the last time we connected. Can't upload, can't perform major or even minor downloads without having to disconnect and reconnect because the download process freezes or stops completely. Even browsing can take ages. No idea what's going on.

(Old) White is a hack which came out a number of years ago but was recently fixed up and finished by Hacksrepairman. It showed some promise at the time but the creator didn't like it and went on to make another game, I don't know if it was a better (Old) White or a whole other title. Problem is it's outdated as far as modern features go so I would think only people who were hoping to see the hack finally get completed will play it. Everyone else is likely to be playing Unbound haha, no surprise. I hope my walkthrough for it will do the game justice because it looks to be on the same level (if not higher) as Red Chapter, Clover and others. That's why I decided to hold off until there were enough helpful documents for Unbound available, and I saw that an update came out while I was offline too so I'm glad I didn't jump in when the December update was the only one there.

Great Reset, "the new normal", vaccine passports, "green certificates" and so on, yeah, that's what I've been hearing too and I don't see anything normal about any of this, so it baffles me that people call this the new normal. As far as I know the vaccination programme isn't mandatory here as well, the one which is being rolled out is the Sinopharm vaccine from China. None of the other brands I believe, certainly not that Astrazeneca vaccine which is stirring things up from place to place. But things could change, if it looks like not enough people are going for the vaccine it shouldn't be a surprise if government pushes to force people into it somehow. We were under another lockdown between January and a few weeks ago when restrictions were relaxed, but as usual, you never know when the next lockdown will be imposed. I've only heard that some EU countries want to implement that vaccine passport and the UK has something like that available now, I didn't know about them cancelling international holidays. Are your independent news sources also saying the same thing about that UK variant or they've got more accurate information about that?
Here's hoping you've been doing okay, how's it going? I had been offline since December and we finally got back online a few days ago. Just for this week though because it's capped data internet but it's been really slow so I haven't done much except check emails, share out the Gaia and Kanlara Ultimate walkthroughs and get some current news podcasts. I'm currently working on Pokemon (Old) White and then after that I'll dive into the much hyped Unbound. A lot of helpful guides and documents are now available for it so that will definitely make my work easier.

How are things over there so far? Is the vaccination programme going on?
Hey! Sorry for the late reply! Finally done with exams!
    Thanks a lot!
Yes, I am planning to make it a big update but I am not sure if it will be one. I mean it has been a while since the previous version came out and don't want to make the folks wait too much!
Also, yes, I have not given up on the romantic scene! But I just can't pull it off perfectly. There is always something that is lacking, either the music or the limitations of NPC movements in the games or the dialogue or so.. But not giving up on it! Even if it looks lacking in the final version of the game, I will make it work in a different media (like a story or a video). And thanks for the music suggestion. I have never tried putting a music in the game before but I will see what I can do!
The main reason I am focusing on Male Protagonist x Arane ship is because I ship them myself xD I dont know if that makes it canon or not xD
I had a huge pile of assignments and exams (they are still going on xD) and will continue till January 24th. Couldn't come to the internet much, neither could work on the game. But hopefully will resume both activities from 25th! Thanks a lot for checking! How have been things with you? :D
Milly is in the Timekeeper Bonus Chapter that happens on Mirage Island. If Red chooses to save Pink then Milly will battle you, her team is made up of those Zilla Pokemon.

Golche? Okay, I'll contact him after this. Yeah, chances are slim to none because I haven't heard from anyone here in the PC since I posted in Unbound thread. Only on Reddit, someone who has completed a number of the missions has offered to make a guide for the missions and share it with me once it is done. I'll post as well on Knuckle San's GBA Hacks site since the Unbound page over there is active with people who are constantly stuck.

Same to you too, I'm really hoping 2021 will be much better than what 2020 was. But as long as this Corona business is still present, I think we'll probably get more of the same or things get worse.
Ahh yes, Milly's incredible team. I hadn't figured out the Godzilla references until you mentioned it! I liked Rodan and Zilla, sweet designs, but I won't mind all 4. I don't think they are Orangean but perhaps simply new ancient Pokemon, maybe half Mythical half Legendary.

Well if mainstream is all that they've been exposed to all along, with no other alternatives, then it shouldn't be a surprise that they are more likely to just go with what they get. That's why people helping each other get informed is so important now because plenty of information, different opinions, views, sources and so on gets shared around.

No ways hahaha, I've paused my Kanlara walkthrough until January so I can try to enjoy some holiday time. Unbound is something I wouldn't mind trying to make a walkthrough for but that's for next year and if creator Skeli can provide guides and any other necessary documents which I can use for the walkthrough. But just like with Aethestode, it's another case of trying to contact the person and not getting a response because they're busy and of course they're more frequent on Discord. So I simply posted in the thread for anyone who can reach Skeli to pass on my message. The ideal scenario would either to hear back from Skeli and get the official documentation for Unbound...but another nice scenario would be hearing from multiple players who have their own documentation that they've been updating as they play through and they share that with me for the walkthrough. I'd rather get to work on the walkthrough when I've got enough stuff to work with, not to have a repeat of the Expansion Pass where now that the reliable guide guy is away, I had to turn to Youtube.
Haha, I wouldn't blame you after what I've seen as far as the Master Trainers are concerned. It's why I keep wondering what the final Volume 1 update was going to be about. Were more Master Trainers going to be part of it? And what about the Mt. Moon event after they are all defeated? But now we'll probably never know.

That's all very possible, forcing people to be completely dependent on digital money, electronic payments, doing things online (shopping, pay bills, communicate etc) and then when people become unfavourable they lose access to their accounts, digital wallets and everything because they are all linked up. Over here we pay for electricity like purchasing mobile airtime, but because the power utility company isn't exactly quality when it comes to service delivery many places still experience power cuts or haven't had regular power for a very long time. There is talk about the vaccines in the news here but nothing as extreme as mandatory vaccinations YET. Don't expect them to ask people for consent, they'll probably give people ultimatums - get vaccinated or lose access to essential services, accounts etc. And you can bet that plenty of people will gladly comply, doesn't matter what health risks are associated with the rushed vaccines.
Unfortunately no exotic mons, they use Kanto Pokemon (except Lickylick of course) and a couple of battles are Double Battles where you and the Master Trainer will also have that place holder ? icon as the second Pokemon. It has no PP left so it only uses Struggle and it behaves like a traded Pokemon disobeying. I wonder how many players will try taking on the Master Trainers because the event seems to have been left unresolved. Nothing happens on Mt. Moon except the final battle against Bruno and the game's ending. I didn't find any other Master Trainers.

That's what I was worried about, that trading is only possible outside of the game. If that Witchdoctor evolved all the trade-evolution Pokemon that would've been great.

One of the local banks shifted from cash to cashless in October as a means to limit the spread of COVID, it's so ridiculous. But I imagine that some other major banks might follow and then people will be screwed because electronic money is not reliable and as convenient as people think it is, certainly not here where systems are prone to break downs or being congested. What makes things worse is people are willing going along with this, have been doing so as the year has gone by. You say a decade, which is interesting because 2030 seems to be the big year that we keep hearing about. Why 2030? What about now, today?? Like you I also check multiple sources for news, outside Zim sadly since there's not much to rely on locally. There are independent papers but they are owned by the same media group so much independence is that exactly, haha? South Africa, just next door to Zim, is experiencing a second wave and I am a little worried that it could spill over into Zim. They started lockdowns and stuff in March and April, then just like clockwork Zim followed...so I'm really hoping SA sorts things out. One wave was enough, the damage has been done on the social and economic sides (on top the inflation issue which we've had since 2018). The news hasn't covered anything about natural remedies yet and I doubt they'd have a proper figure for the recovery rate so at least for your country you've got some facts. I guess what's left is for plenty of people to get informed and help each other get through this because govts aren't going help.
Sorry but I couldn't find an answer to either of your questions on the discord, so I'm going to take a guess here based on past information, try leveling up your venusaur, while it holds the region orb, if that doesn't work I'm not sure where it could be I haven't played the game in some time, due to being busy, as for sneasel I'm not sure either
Maybe they each learn a unique move later on that the other one doesn't. Then again I guess they only differ in looks and design, everything else is the same. Regular Metagross is better for being part Steel so I don't know if you're going to hang onto O. Metagross for much longer.

I'm guessing they are post-game content introduced in Exp Pass. They are special Trainers who battle using one specific Pokemon which will be Lv255 and you can only battle them if you just have that same Pokemon in your party. So far only the Poliwrath Master doesn't follow that rule, he uses a Venusaur. One NPC mentions that if players defeat all the Master Trainers something happens on the Mt. Moon summit. I've found 21 Master Trainers so far, am stuck on one because he uses a Lickylick and I've asked on Reddit if anyone knows how to get it. Not sure if it evolves from Lickitung or from Lickilicky, at what level or by what means. I hope they are the only Master Trainers because I don't find the idea of travelling through Kanto and then the Orange Islands again too appealing. And for all we know, maybe nothing even happens at Mt. Moon because Bruno is what you'll find at the summit.

Some of the Delta Pokemon evolve by trading e.g D. Golem, D. Scizor, D. Magmortar, D. Electivire etc, how do you get them instead? And by trading did you do it in game at that trade centre or you have friends who also had the game and you traded by linking online?

Yeah as far as information goes, you'd have to be very careful because almost everywhere you turn to it's the same. Paranoia, panic. It's worse here because there's only one TV and radio broadcaster - the state and then other radio stations which abide by the broadcasting authority so not much room for real independence and alternative views, information etc. Are there credible independent news outlets over there that can give you proper news? The vaccine is also a dubious subject because how can one be rushed out so soon and yet there hasn't been one for the other major diseases which have killed far more people than COVID has? Plus, aren't there people who have recovered from COVID using other means so far? Would they also need a vaccine? Questions like that should be asked.
Do you have both Fake Gyarados and O. Gyarados or you decided to stick with Fake Gyarados? I liked both so I kept them and nice one on catching O. Dragonite :) Dragon/Fairy type is quite the combo.

Thanks for that. Not having to start from the very beginning of the game really helped but the little bugs in the update were rather annoying. I hope I'll hear from people concerning those 2 Bonus Chapters which I didn't do and the Master Trainers event. Are you going to be taking on the Master Trainers?

The fact that it is based on the manga is what drew me to the game initially. Having read the manga and being able to play a game which covers one of my favourite arcs was really great. It's why I was negative on some of the Bonus Chapters, because if there's already such good source material to work in the form of the manga then why have side quests that have nothing to do with the main story? Green and Blue's chapters are a good example of what I mean, Bonus Chapters that go hand in hand with the Main Chapters and expand on them where necessary. But as for the others like where you deal with dark entity A or demon B or take part in a couples contest and so on, not really for me. Or maybe it's because I'm just not a fan of fillers haha thanks to anime like Naruto and Bleach which would have entire arcs of filler episodes. Everything else about Adventure Red, no problem. Those other games have the advantage of good story which doesn't require features like Bonus Chapters.

Speaking of Insurgence, I have to say that I'm not liking that they've got most of their Pokemon evolving the same way as they would in the official games e.g. by trading. Come on, really? I thought one of the highlights of hacks and fan games is to take mechanics like that and do away with them or better yet, to improve or offer better alternatives like having trade evolution Pokemon evolving either by leveling up or by means of a special Stone. And it looks to be a game more suited for people with internet access, hence the trading and such. Otherwise I am impressed by a lot of the Delta Pokemon...though others I don't get why they were switched from their regular types to types which are so far out haha.

Well that's one of the reasons why I started doing walkthroughs, because I didn't want to wait for someone else to provide them if I can't at least try to come up with them on my own. Luckily it was a good decision because it has become something I really enjoy doing and people have found the walkthroughs useful. At the same time I think more romhackers and fan game creators should consider providing guides alongside their games, let it become something as common as having all these fancy new gen features or stuffing games with multiple Pokemon generations.

As for COVID-19 here in Zim, things haven't gotten past the initial wave here yet. I don't know for sure if a second wave will sweep through but hopefully not because it wouldn't be a surprise. Mentions of a second wave have been in western news but there's always a chance that it has been used just to keep people frightened and obeying the ridiculous rules and regulations that have been put in place e.g. lockdowns and curfews and forced mask-wearing and such. I didn't know you have a third wave to deal with, that's terrible. Is it because you have a larger elderly population that's more vulnerable to the virus? What's the situation there?
You don't have to worry about collecting mushrooms for the Move Tutor. The one available in the game teaches moves for P1000 per move. Pretty neat really, you'll find her on Kinkan Island. As far as I know there isn't an ItemFinder and no hidden items so it was a smart move to have the Tutor not want Mushrooms or Heart Scales in exchange for her services. And you're right about the Ice-type, I didn't know it was that powerful until I had that big battle against Missingno. My Nidoqueen knew Ice Beam and luckily it was in the party at the time...otherwise I would've been stuck since Ice is the one type which beats Missingno. So hang onto that Icy Snorlax!

For the Special Attacker why not just get a good Electric-type? Or you want a non-Electric Pokemon with high Sp ATK which can still learn Thunderbolt?

I'll just try, if people are available then awesome but if not then that's how it is. I've been noticing some issues while playing through: some Master Trainers that I've met so far (haven't battled them yet, I decided to save those battles for after I'm done with the Bonus Chapters) have vanished from the spots where they are found. Character Grey, whom you would find in the Pallet PokeCenter early on is no longer there and without him I can't do a Bonus Chapter which follows up from another one. It's stuff like this which could've been ironed out in whatever final Volume 1 update Aesthesode had been working on until deciding to drop it. So I might end up skipping the Master Trainers search.

Hmm king of Rom Hacks at the moment? Really? Because of this Exp Pass? I'd say it's definitely up there among great games like the Pokemon Vega series
and Clover (despite its faults and quirks) but king of the Rom Hacks would be a bit of a stretch haha. Adventure Red has many positives (looks great, features plenty of Pokemon across 2 major regions that are well designed, story-driven, being able to use any HM outside of battles even if your party haven't learned the moves, etc) but one of the major negatives I find in it is the Bonus Chapters. Most of them are just horror-themed filler stories which don't have anything to do with the main story. If they were connected e.g. after completing a Main Chapter, you play through Bonus Chapters that bridge that Main one to the next one and so on, that would've been fantastic. It wouldn't have to be the case for every Main Chapter, just those which might require Bonus content to expand on them. Fortunately in this Exp Pass update there are more Bonus Chapters which are related to the main story than filler so thumbs up for that.

To give what a try? Making video walkthroughs? If that's what you mean, I prefer text walkthroughs. Rather than having a whole playlist of episodes I can provide one single Notepad document which is much easier to distribute and can get to many people. I know that video walkthroughs are more popular but another thing is I don't have the equipment and the internet power to be doing video walkthroughs anyway. As long as people are willing to read, I think my walkthroughs will survive :)
Which seat would be better than the important one that you've been transferred to?

What team do you have got for your current Red Chapter play through?

What you can find is Orange Dratini. According to Lunos' Locations guide it is found in the waters of Key Lime Island and while fishing on Rind Island. In the Expansion Pass so far I've encountered it while surfing near Hamlin Island. Does that help?

It's why I really didn't want to start from scratch when there's this Exp Pass update added to the hack. So much to get through. I'll make a request in the Red chapter thread after I'm done with the walkthrough, to find out if there are people who would be willing to carry on from where Lunos left off. Updating the guides and maybe providing new ones. But I wonder if it's even worth it now that Aethesode has moved on from Volume 1 to focus on Volume 2.
The grind never ends, eh? Even during this Covid nonsense, they wanted you to pop into the office?? Or you were working from home earlier in the year then back to the office recently? I work from home, been that way even before Corona happened. My younger brother and I help our dad with his manufacturing business. I'm REALLY glad to not be going to school at this time, even varsity, those days are in the past. Can't imagine dealing with school especially after the year we've been having. So I feel for the school-going children, after months of being at home they're thrust back into the classroom and adjust. Worse if they are writing exams this year.

I'll be sure to look out for Audrey, definitely will be prepared for her Water team. I'm old school in the sense that I like to train in advance. Get to an area, find out which wild Pokemon are there, clear out the Trainers if any and then work on levelling up the team. In my younger days I used to focus on just one team but as I've played through the generations I learned to train as many Pokemon as I can to give me a wide variety to choose from for when the big time battles are on the horizon. Usually pays off and it's how I've gotten to know the Pokemon of later generations.

I'm not the best person to ask about that, because what I may think is good might not be what you'd like. The ones I took note of were Pokemon like Anchorage (Water/Steel), that Orange Arch Gyarados you mentioned, Orange Nidoking (Poison/Fire) and Orange Dragonair (Dragon/Fairy). The Orange exclusive Pokemon I didn't spend enough time with them, I mainly caught some just to see what they are and their types.

Someone named gabycarfe messaged me with a post from Aethesode saying he cancelled the final update for Volume 1. All focus will be on Volume 2 now. What's up with that? I guess I should be happy now about not worrying that my current save file could be incompatible with that final update he was working on. Once I finish this walkthrough, that's it. It's just not going to be the same without Lunos around to help and if the creator of the game can't even respond when guides are asked for, then that's not a good sign. I didn't even know about the cancellation until today when I logged on and read gabycarfe's message.

I picked up Saffron as something I'd play on the side, it looks amazing and sounds interesting. I hope the wait for the full game won't be too long. Perhaps once that it out I'll consider typing a walkthrough for it down the road.
