  • Hi, back. Sorry for rage leaving just now. I probably won't be gone at that time :) I think I am staying on this forum for awhile. I am just fed up because I have studied hacking for so long and I am still so noob at it. I have called Alignment to come to the chatroom. And btw, hasn't Mikachu been inactive for awhile? Wanna go to Xat?
    Thanks :)
By the way, the new alpha you posted for you hack, I patched it, but I get a black screen after the boot screen. Can you confirm that it's not happening to you? Don't use any save states just run the game normally and try to get past the title screen.
Yeah I know, that's what I did, but I had to cut it into three vertically and horizontally. You'll see if you opened it in Advance map what I mean :P

Yeah, I'll be done making the adjustments today so it's all fine and dandy :D

Oh and thanks for introducing pinkishpurple, really appreciate it :D
Hey, I saw your Question to Dr. Fuji, I think I can help you with that... :)
Just downlaod RHEA on Hackmew's Toolbox and simply open your ROM so your Hacking Ruby you should see AXVE in it, erase it and save the game, after that try to open it with A-map and it shouldn't be able to open it, well you could put it back as it was like before so you can edit it again but, you should just make a backup just in case... :)
Most of the time, No. I usually have to color the sprite with the colors of the pallete that's already in my rom. Inserting pokemon sprites is difficult though, cause you have to color them bit by bit. It may seem like nothing since it doesn't have many colors, but coloring Darmanitan's Zen Mode bit by bit with only the colors in the palletes I have available is pretty long and tough. But you can be creative with the people sprites. For example, you can try inserting Brendon from R/S/E's sprite image into a different pallete color and see what you can do by recoloring him.
Yeah, I know lol. I needed space for the big gym. Unfortunately a lot of tiles these days are designed with RXMP in mind, it's hard to find them with repeating tiles and 16 colors. So I just edited one of the PCs that an older pixel artist made.
    I'm 17 now. I was 14 when I started hacking. Then when I was 15-17 I took a 2 year break and forgot a lot lol.
To beta testers? I plan to give it out to you guys by tommorow-ish. I still need to index and insert some sprites. Once I finish then I'll get the patch ready :)
Basically they're like flags, but they store numbers, names and even binary info like flags :D
You can reuse variables outside different maps and stuff too. For example I could say setvar 0x4000 0x3. Then buffer 0x4000 0x3 anywhere else and it'd return 3 as a value.

When you are doing this for money you have the multichoice boxes and then when someone chooses say the 500 option you'd do something like addvar 0x4000 0x500 (500 in hex of course).
    Get it?
No, if you simply put "Insert Image" it'll only insert the sprite's image, not the sprite's pallete. The pallete will stay the same and the sprite will be whichever pallete number you're on when you inserted the sprite. If you're unsure, it's best to try it in a practice copy of your rom before attempting it in the main rom.
Well basically you use the addvar, subtractvar and buffervar commands to add, subtract and display the money totals. I assume you know how to do the multichoice boxes already right?
Yeah, you just pick 2 variables that aren't temporary (you can't use them for anything else either) and you just add and subtract values to them. I could help you get started but I use PKSV I think you use XSE right?
I could help you with a bank script :)

As for the beta it's 2 gyms you can actually beat lol. It's not really based around gyms though, I'm trying to build the story and game play first followed by the actual gyms. No so far I only have some first gen and their 4/5 gen evolutions implemented. I was thinking about further generation Pokemon but then I'd have to choose and that'd be too hard :P
By super long it's only about 4 hours :P
Sure I'd love to have more than one tester. Maybe in return I could help you without something you need help with :D
Good to see you working. I just dropped by to say hi. It's good to know others in the community doing the same thing :)

I'm at the testing stage right now. I still gotta play through my hack, but it's too long :(
