For HG I would get Cyndaquil, Squirtle, and Treecko. For SS I would get Totodile, Charmander, and Mudkip. Too bad they didn't put anything for any of the Sinnoh starters. They probably thought that everyone would have Platinum, Diamond, or Pearl.

Japan gets it first because they created Pokemon. So naturally of course they would always get everything Pokemon first.
