I'm not sure anything I post hasn't been posted before, but my biggest gripes are:
Remakes that don't build on the originals the way FR/LG and HG/SS did;
Remakes that build on the originals by adding another rival or a poorly-written sub-plot;
'New' crime syndicates that are just re-hashes of...
I have to say, I would've preferred more interesting designs for our first part-Electric-and-Fire Dragons. That's not to say that Reshiram and Zerkrom aren't decent-looking - I just don't feel that the typings really suit them. Mind you, I was disappointed when I heard Reshiram was Dragon-Type...
I started with Torchic, too! I prefer Treecko, but Blaziken is way cooler than Sceptile.
I had a lot of fun with the beta. It feels very natural without being too same-y and the maps are quite fun to explore. Going up to the fourth gym would be a wise step, I think. Maybe add two gyms per beta...
I believe mine was a Base Set Ponyta. I've only got a few old cards, for some reason. I think it's because they're just ones I've been given as I don't recall buying booster packs back then.

Comments: Obviously this is just an edit of FR/LG's Pewter city. I know it's kinda bland, to say the least, but I wasn't sure what else to add besides LOL MOAR ROCKS.
Studying GSCE French at the moment. I'm not exactly fabulous with my grammar and I often forget words, but I've been told I've got a pretty good accent. ^^" I also dabbled in Spanish for a few months a couple of years ago, but I can't remember much of that.

Ahem. I've had some experience fiddling around with A-Map and I've got a whole folder of about 100 tools, but I just haven't found time to learn how to use them. Scripting is something I definitely need to work on, amongst other things. That's why I want to get the ball rolling...
