I am happy with the style for this one. It still looks visually impressive, while being simplistic enough to evoke nostalgia befitting a remake. I feel the more chibi style evokes a sense of fun that a more realistic style probably wouldn't. I do hope they step it up for the 2019 release...

Do you want one to play through the story with? If not, I would imagine breeding a regular Chespin using the Masuda method would be quicker. It would reduce the odds from 1 in 4,096 down to 1 in 683 (or 1 in 512 with the shiny charm).

The increased shiny rate only applies to non-ledendary Pokemon. Legendaries can be soft reset, but they have the regular odds of being shiny.
