yes so when you make the patch it is for that rom and others can patch their rom with the patch you create from the patched version

you want the CRC-32. it's a file hash. all roms with the same hash are essentially the same file for purposes of patching a rom.

you can post the CRC hash of the rom you used at least i believe the quickest way to find it is using say, 7zip or NanaZip
