I agree but not all of their designs are bland and uninspired, I mean Absol and Gardevoir are one of the very few pokemon from the third generation that are very well-designed.

Why does so many people hate the 3rd gen. so much? It introduced natures, ivs, and evs which made battling a lot less boring. It was the first handheld pokemon game with smooth graphics. It also had some of the strongest and most well-designed pokemon *points to Salamence, Metagross, Gardevoir...
