would that not affect the trainer card? i thought losing battles would reduce the colour achievement or something?

uh well for a start you could have posted that on my page :P
but as for being stuck at the area before the E4, do you A) have an exp share and B) know that a good way to train is buy loads of items (spend your mone) then keep losing 'til you win? I get loads of levels that way and it means that I can keep slowly getting my item count up (by continually spending so that I don't lose money after my losses).
