  • or could it be the way it is patching whenever I patch the ips. i am clicking on a .gba file but whenever I load up the visual boy advance it has me load a zip folder
I would but forum rules dictate against linking to roms. If you search the 1636 rom in full on google. The first website should have the correct link as that's where I got mine.
Odd, you sure you have the right fire red rom? You might own a non clean one. As for the 1m circuit board. That's easy to fix. Go to options, emulator, save type and make it flash 128k.
Sure, first off, are you trying to get it on a computer, or phone?

If on a computer, these steps should work.

    1) If you don't have it already, then download a visual boy advance emulator. That's easy to get through google. When you download it, see if it comes with Lunar IPS. I believe all of them do, but if not, you can search google to get one.

    2) Once you have visual boy advance, get a fire red rom. Search 1636 Fire Red Version U Rom on google. It should be the first result.

    3) Save the Fire Red rom to wherever you want.( I recommend the desktop as it's easier that way)

    4) Download the Vega IPS. Which I'm sure you already have.

    5) Open lunar IPS. It will have a tab saying apply IPS patch. Click this.

    6) It will ask you to choose the patch, select the Vega IPS patch. Then it asks file to patch. Find your fire Red rom and select it.

    7) The rom will now be patched and ready to go.

    8) Open up visual boy and click file, open gameboy. Select your patched fire red rom and it should load vega up.

Hope this helps! If it's on a phone, tell me and I will see if I can find the way to do that.
