Sorry for the relatively late response, the game currently ends at the 3rd Gym.

I think there should be a fourth shrine, two are on the same flour but on different sides, after you are done you can just walk out.

2 poison types are available, and if you do the quests in the city you can also reach a steel/fairy type, I usually use a shuppet to take down kirlia and mimikyu. + if you get stuck there for too long and just want to continue the game you can always switch to easy mode via the in game settings.

That is the only way I know of. You can back track after getting surf, if one tries this I would recommend also having teleport on you.

Before the second gym, when getting inside the ruins in one of the caves with the eeveelution priestesses there is a point in the cave where you can mine a wall in there you get a hidden room where you can find the dusk stone.

you can put the dynamite in a point in the mines and gain a cool pokemon in an egg. 4 dynamites total it isn't recommended for them to be sold.

I think at some point the creator stated the next update will be the full game, so the patch might not be needed. + 1000

Or another recommendation for the first gym would be to do the quests, the one in the church is a good source of hp, the one with the nurse joy opens up a cave with some poison types which might be usefull for the gym.

Mega evolutions are for sure planed, as the creator teases it at the end of the demo, but you can't yet obtain them as far as I know at least. I would for sure recommend this game even though there are no megas yet

I don't know where the exp. share is but about the upgrade, in the town after meeting Ho-oh for the first time (the town with the sez headquarters, where you get the water badge) there is a scientist who asks you to find 75 different pokemon on the pokedex then he gives you the upgrade and some...

TBH I did random movement until it worked + if you do not mess up a puzzle a few time did you really solve the puzzle ?

I am assuming it is after you get arrested, Tile puzzle need to put the tile in the proper order, the order is seen in the multi-colored square in the previous room.

Which puzzle specifically were/are you stuck at?
