What software are you using for the hack? If you're using Hex Maniac Advanced with the complete fire red upgrade mega evolution/primal type transformations would be easy to add since it would just require you to add in the evolution tab of the pokemon a new mega evolution.

right click the arrow at the border of the map you're editing and two options will pop up, create new map and connect existing map, click which one you need. If you have any other issues feel free to ask

Fire red has the most free space for you to play around with, it also has a lot of free fan support that will help the progression of of your hack

Hex maniac advanced wasn't made to edit other people's works, ask anybody on the discord and they'll tell you that

You should use Hex maniac advanced instead of XSE, XSE is super old and HMA has way better scipting for readability and stuff.

You overwritten the tileset that was already loaded instead of modifying the current tileset that was loaded. I hope you made a back up, if not it's time to get a new rom -^-
