I've played the first two games, and they're good.
As for Half-Life, I'm still playing the first one, and, true, there are some really creepy/scary moments. But what I mean by 'disorienting', I mean that I'm not really getting into it. A lot of it feels like trial-and-error, which I'm not fond of in a game like this. I also don't really follow the story. Half of the time I have little to no idea what I'm even supposed to be doing.
So far, honestly, I've enjoyed the BioShock series more. But hey, who knows, maybe Half-Life 2 will be a lot better.

By the way, I'm finally playing the Half-Life series. Starting with the first one.
And let me tell you, it's very disorienting.

Haha, I'm glad. xD I actually have been trying to check my VMs at least once a day every day this week. I remember the days such along time ago where I literally carried like seven conversations at once and literally just sat and waited for responses. I would 'random message' people all the time to make new friends and crap. xD I was such an eager person back then. And yes, I'm talking like this was years and years ago. But it was like, almost four years ago. In fact, it will be four years in three weeks. xD

I remember playing around with SimCity 2000 as a kid.
I have never played any of the other Sims games, nor Spore.

This definitely isn't the best generation for video game consoles.
At least there's still Steam. ;)

And don't get me wrong, if a game really can look realistic, it's cool. But one gripe I have is that a lot of the realistic games from recent years is that the people look so dead faced, like a puppet. Thankfully that aspect is improving now.
