Very true. Speaking of rp...maybe one of these days I'll pitch the Sanrio isekai idea (an rp where the people rping are transported to a fantasy world where their partnered with a sanrio character). I don't think anyone would be interested, though.
I'd have to encourage people to be creative with whom they partner with...lol.
Mmm, for this in particular I think it'd be fun to do this with a group because it's kinda game-like? But, we'll see. It's been a decade since I've gmed.
i know some people don't as much but i personally like to RP within the confines of some predetermined rules and mechanics- it's more of a fun challenge to push right up against the confines of the world, yknow?
I was thinking of a dice roll mechanic for damage and stuff, but I'm not sure if that' something people do. There probably would be some rules, should I ever get around to building this idea I have.
How do battles in Pokemon rp usually work?
One rule would be though in terms of partners... no one is allowed to have Hello Kitty as a partner because she'd be like the "god" or overseer of the fantasy world.
It's a bit more nebulous than that, but it also depends on the particular RP. My group tends to have a lot of discussions on how to interpret the game mechanics and move effects, and only really use RNG for stuff like status effects. But we also have several world mechanics that rely on rolls and a lot of technical rules that keep us within certain boundaries.
I'll have to learn the ways of rp, then. For now, I'm going to focus on thinking about what the world will entail and stuff. Because I do know the fundamentals and stuff. But, I don't know when I'll be ready to focus on it. I've been juggling three verses rn.
I usually do follow my heart. Right now, I have to get ready for Siorc's birthday & 1,000 day anniversary, but March is still going, so I am more focused on experimenting with perspective & angles wil drawing when not doing...my stuff for my three verses.
honestly it seems exhausting to juggle that many things constantly. how are you like, able to keep developing your skills when your attention is pulled in so many directions?
