    Wasn't gonna post the planning thread anyway; I'm hosting two other events so I was gonna let one of you guys post it. :P

    Anyway, instead of listing obvious stuff the event will have, how about posting some ideas?

    For rules, maybe we should choose a specific ROM, like a Gen. III ROM, since it's mostly used.

    And for judging criteria, maybe timing, events, and errors? I dunno, but that could be some choices for judging. Remember that this has to run for a maximum of four days.

    I was thinking plot development would be involved in the judging, Like instead of starting in the same room in hacks you'd start in the middle of an event, or halfway through the game.

    Pokémon ROM hacking has been a popular hobby since, well, Pokémon came out! Made famous by hacks like Mewthree9000's Chaos Black, Linkandzelda's Liquid Crystal, Serg!o's Naranja, etc. Now Pokécommunity holds the largest community of ROM Hackers and Modders for Pokémon, and we have a fun way to contest your abilities!

    We present to you... The Pokémon Speedhacking contest! In this competition, you will create a hack in FOUR DAYS! This can be challenging, yet quite intriguing! I, Innovator of Team RHI, along with Destiny Demon and NurseBarbra, cannot wait to see what goes on here!

    Hosts

    Innovator (RHIOneAlbum)
    NurseBarbra
    Destiny Demon
    Maybe Dr. Fuji and Winter Wonderland as judges? I could get LaZ if one of them declines.

    Rewards

    First place will get a very smexy emblem and their hack stickied in either Hacks Showcase, Slideshow Showcase, or Progressing Hacks!
    Need suggestions if they don't have a hack
    Second place will get a smexy emblem
    Third place will get an emblem, too
    All participants will bet a participation emblem, regardless of if they win.
    Need suggestions for rewards...

    Well, of course you could go break out an old hack and pretend it is new, which is why we require proof that it is only four days old!

    Their are three different tiers for the competition
    ~GB/GBC PokéROM Hack (RBY/GSC/pinball)
    ~GBA/NDS PokéROM Hack (RSE/FRLG/DPPt/HGSS/BW/Mystery Dungeon/Trozei)
    ~Non Pokémon Hack (anything not Pokémon, for any system)

    They will be judged by us three and our two other judges.

    Schedule

    July 15th-18th - Make your hack
    July 19th - Testing and results

    This looks thoroughly planned out, good job. I think DS hacking would take too long to hack in four days though, as Hiroshi mentioned in the other thread.

    Yea, that's why it's GBA/NDS, if anybody would like to try it, they can, though I doubt anyone will.
    Hope they surprise me though haha

    Also, thoughts on fonts/CSS/guest judges?

    I'm going to ask the gracious Winter wonderland and Dr.Fuji to be guest judges if they would like to be. That way we'd have 5 judges to make it easier on the judging.

    Well, we don't need a fancy CSS thread, but some CSS might make the event thread look more appealing.

    And are you sure they will be able to have their mini-hack stickied in the Emulation forum? Maybe you can clarify that with giradialkia or colcolstyles. Same for the Scriptwriting contest.

    And how about the judging criteria?

    I wasn't thinking of their mini hack, I was thinking if they had a hack in HS or PH, then they could have that stickied. I'll go ask the mods. But fonts?

    The background gradient is kinda eye burning with black and purple. Maybe blue or orange would suit better?
    As for rules, I say that we should have a team policy (eg. 3 team members allowed maximum, ect.) because it wouldn't be fair if one team had 5 members and another had 2. You know?

    Also as for judging. It should be done on 3 points. Mapping, scripting, Plot development.

    ~You may not steal hacks

    It will be judged in three equal portions and a bonus area:
    Mapping (10 points)
    Scripting (10 points)
    Originality (10 points)
    Other (5 points)

    Other is if you do anything point worthy that doesn't involve the above three.
    Same judging applies to non Pokemon hacks.

    The CSS doesn't look that bad, but it's way too colorful for me, I dunno why but I think it should stick to one color. But unless the both of you want it to be a rainbow event thread, that's fine with me I guess.

    The font is fine, though. I like that font, what ever it's called. (;

    And the judging criteria NurseBarbra mentioned sounds good to me. Those three choices are a good choice.

    I also think you should switch the Rewards and Schedule, since the schedule seems more important than to be at the bottom as it is to the top than some emblems.

    Anyway overall the planning seems to be successful so far. :x
     
    Aight, I'll switch it up, and i like tricolor lol.
    Emblems I will make when I get my computer back from Dell. You guys can makemsome too right! :P and ccs approved my rewards.
     
    Yeah, I stalked saw that VM of his when viewing your profile.
    I'm not the best graphics maker, so one of you two could create emblems instead. But I could make descriptions/titles for them (I'm at least good at that)! :P
     
    :X graphics icons are not really my strong point. I'll give it a shot though.

    EDIT: Also winter said she'd be honoured to be a guest judge.
     
    Haha ok, you van stalk anytime as long as you don't live in the southwest US, if so, I'm scared now :D
