    You definitely have a passion for puzzle solving! Congratulations on successfully determining every single mystery Pokémon in GT8's Who's That Pokémon event!

    [PokeCommunity.com] Who's that Pokémon?

    Almost! You gotta guess 'em all!
    I guess your playing detective wasn't enough. But hey, you've managed to identify at least 80% of the lot. Thanks for making the GT8's Who's That Pokémon event even more successful!

    [PokeCommunity.com] Who's that Pokémon?

    Budding Detective
    You have successfully guessed at least one mystery Pokémon correctly! Thanks for taking part in GT8's Who's That Pokémon event!

    About:
    –––––––––––––––––
    There will be three different types of puzzles in this event that you will have to use your detective skills to solve. Each of the puzzles will be a clue to a Pokémon. Your job is to find the identity of all the mystery Pokémon and send us your results. This event will run the same as the weekly Who's that Pokémon thread found in Pokémon Trivia but with two additional puzzles to solve. It would be wise to get some practice there for one of the puzzles, who knows you could earn an emblem there too.

    The three types of puzzles:
    –––––––––––––––––
    These are the three different types of puzzles that will be used in this competition. The first being a worded puzzle which gives a clue to the Pokémon's identity. The second being a silhouette of a Pokémon in a strange pose from the anime. The last being the traditional enlarged image from the Who's that Pokémon thread found in Pokémon Trivia. Please note that all white colouring in the enlarged image is part of the Pokémon. All puzzles will be full images and not have any parts that aren't part of the Pokémon.
    The answer to all these examples is Vaporeon.

    How to enter:
    –––––––––––––––––
    Everyday for the first three days, two of each type of puzzles will be posted (only one silhouette) with a super puzzle on the last day. Your task is to identify all of the mystery Pokémon correctly and then PM your answers to both vaporeon7 and Cid. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN THE THREAD! The answers to the puzzles and the results will be posted after all the answers have been marked, so please do not expect a PM back.

    Rules:
    –––––––––––––––––
    - All PC rules apply.
    - DO NOT post your answers in the thread anyone who does so will have their posts deleted and be banned from the event.
    - DO NOT give out hints or clues in the thread (e.g. describing the answer or saying what Pokémon are not correct) anyone who does so will have their posts deleted and be banned from the event.
    - DO NOT share answers with other members through PM/VMs anyone who does so will be banned from the event along with the other person.
    - You may only guess one Pokémon for each puzzle. Saying that is either Goldeen or Lickitung for example will be treated as an incorrect answer.
    - You may not change your answers. Make sure that you are certain before PMing us because your answers cannot be changed.
    - No hints will be given, do not ask for them.
    - All entries will close at 11:59 PM on Monday July 18 and no entries will be accepted after.
    - The puzzles start at 12:00 AM EST on Friday July 15 and ends 11:59 PM on Monday July 18. You may answer any puzzles at any time between these dates.
    - You may discuss things such as how difficult you found certain puzzles, if you guessed, etc in the thread.
    - Posts complaining that the puzzles were 'too hard' will be deleted and treated as spam.
    - Please post as much answers as possible into on PM to cut down on PM flooding, it will make the marking go much quicker.

    I'm so sorry for the late reply. ;;
    Description(?) beneath the title said:
    "Be a Pokémon detective. Dig, scratch and sniff through the clues given and(?) the find out the mystery Pokémon."
    I like this description. It will probably be sliightly vague to some in terms of mechanics, though.
    Oh, and it reminds me of detective mystery novels e.g. Sherlock Holmes. xD;

    -About-

    But instead of just giving of an exact clone of that thread I think we should include some other puzzles, such as riddles, giving small facts, and maybe silhouettes but at harder angles. Similar to some of the questions in the Pokemon League Entrance Exam in "The Ultimate Test" except maybe not as impossible as the Jigglypuff question.
    I'm up for this idea (the examples that you made actually work, in my opinion). We're both making the puzzles, right? I'd be able to make dozens of riddles/word problems (although I probably won't have access to images to be able to create the silhouette puzzles and the enlarged image puzzles). But the amount I'll make probably depends on how often we're giving them out (if we're not posting everything on the first day for them to ponder on for less than four days) and how many mystery Pokemon we're actually going to let them guess.
    Oh, and maybe we can make them guess something like a final mystery Pokemon; i.e. the name of that last one can only be guessed using letters from the previous Pokemon.

    I think the puzzles should get more difficult everyday if we decide to release them bit by bit everyday as opposed to all at once. I also think the prize should be emblems for participating and maybe getting a certain percentage correct or just all correct."Find out the identities of the mystery Pokémon by following clues and looking at close-up body parts."
    (Needs rewording, I know)
    I can make emblem descriptions if you haven't already. :3 Probably won't have the resources during the next few days to create the actual emblems from internet images, though (but I can try, can't I?). We have to keep in contact, btw. And since I probably won't have access on PC within a few hours from now until the school week ends, we should find somewhere to talk. I'll VM you on that later.

    Personally I think it will work best if we keep it close the the "Who's that Pokemon" that is already in Pokemon Trivia.

    I agree. Especially when you judge from how fun and successful those weekly threads are. Do you think we could borrow its description and layout?

    Yes, I also think that it'd be best if it were that way. (If we release them bit by bit, though, our PM inboxes might flood xD;) I also think that maybe we should separate the 'all correct' emblem with the 'certain percentage correct' one, if we are allowed to do such.

    My bad, I meant to write 'to'.

    If it's easier, I can make all the silhouette and enlarged images and you can make all the worded problems seeing as you won't be able to access the images necessary easily. I like the big mystery at the end, I think we should definitely do that. We could have two of each puzzle for the first three days and on the last have the huge and difficult puzzle.

    That'd be great if you could do the descriptions. If you do end up making the emblems (which I hope you do) one of the emblems could have our favourite Pokemon on it :3. I'm also thinking about three emblems. A perfect score emblem, a 85%, 80% or 75% (I don't know what you think) emblem and a participant emblem. Inbox flooding is a problem and it would be in any circumstance. I think a no changing your mind rule is needed and that will surely cut down on PMs. Just remember we have 2 or 3 days before the thread and emblems have to be ready (we have an extra day for the puzzles) I'll be sure to make the thread ready, hopefully tomorrow. My word search thread is done so that won't be a distraction.

    I'm sure it will be fine, I'll just VM BinaryPeaches now.

    I think that would be best. :) And for the huge mystery, we have to think of how we can make it really hard. Do you have any ideas in particular at the moment? Are we giving out a hard problem that's a silhouette/enlarged image/worded problem/a mix of them due to the impossible difficulty of having only one of the clues/something completely different?
    Oh and do you mean six puzzles daily? Okay. :>
    I'd probably send you some test word problems soon, and maybe you can comment on their difficulty. You could send what you initially concoct to me, too, so that I can comment about them if you'd like. :3

    I'll do my best. I'll e-mail you (as [email protected]) ASAP when I get the emblems done (or if the unfortunate event that I won't be able to make them happens), and yes, I'll try to do that. ;D
    The second emblem's percentage makes me think of whether we'll give more credit to the harder ones or make them all similar in credit. And I think that 'no changing your mind' would be a helpful rule to implement. And it's good to hear that you've got your other events covered. :3

    EDIT: I've seen your e-mail containing the silhouettes and enlarged images that we'll post on the first day. I think the portions you chose for the enlarged images were chosen well. :3
    Yet, I find the first silhouette difficult-ish. Especially because people have no anime episode in context to base their answers upon. It'd be really hard to find those exact poses. And perhaps some people might have overly imaginative minds and think of other Pokemon in that specific pose seen in the silhouette. xD
    But maybe it's just me. ;_;
    xD;;

    EDIT2: And just realized, you edited in the emblems! :DDD
    I hope they get approved. ^_^
    BTW, I think we have to put the emblems on top of the page, iirc.

    That was the hardest thing to do with this, the silhouette that is. The first one I'll keep as the one of the ones in the first day but the second I've move until later. I'll have a look for something easier.

    Yeah, it's probably really difficult to do the silhouettes without making it too easy/hard.
    Do you want to lessen the number of silhouettes per day, then?
    It could possibly be much more efficient that way. >.<

    EDIT: Gosh, am I allowed to reply like this? It seems as if I didn't read Mr. Admin's post. Sorry. o_o [/sort-of-ninja'd]
    Oh and I didn't notice the brightness until it was pointed out. That could hopefully be fixed, I think? :\

    One per day sounds good, and 5 a day is a good number to work with. How's the CSS now?
