A little housekeeping and answering question.
Is going to be like all the canon stuff where they get progressively stronger as the trainer advances, or are all the Colosseum Lords on roughly the same level and the trainers need to level their Pokemon up to get on their level? I'm guessing their Pokemon won't be leveled to the trainers.

Edit: Also, how do abilities work? Are they in the RP, and if so, do our Pokemon have access to all of them automatically and simultaneously, or does something need to be done to unlock them?

I am a fan of the idea that the gym leaders actually have a strong team and just tailor the difficulty to how many badges the trainer has (for example: Brock just uses Geodude and Onix since he is supposed to be your first gym, and would have better pokemon if it was your 2nd, 3rd, etc.) even though this isn't really supported by canon, especially with how much you can jump around in Gen I.

This is the method I was going to take just for progression sake, making it a steady climb through the Colosseums throughout the journey. Of course, Lords still have some very strong Pokemon, they just won't throw them at someone who is completely new.

Also I completely forgot to list abilities since a lot of SUs forgo it. I do like them in an RP setting, and I do like only having one, since some pokemon have a few great abilities that would be kind of busted to let them have them all.

Can I reserve a spot for Vaporeon? I will have my SU done by the end of the day.

I haven't really reserved any spots, since there really isn't a huge amount of applying (and I don't really have a set hard cap on the players yet). But sign ups are still open, and I'll keep you in mind.

My SU is officially ready my good man

You know, I almost want to reject you for making my SU look like garbage in comparison. But I'm just going to slide this over to the ACCEPTED pile. Welcome Aboard.

Also, the IC has been submitted for review. If it's accepted I'll ping everyone that it's up.

The IC is finally up!

Also as a just in case, the pokemon shown by the trainers in the missions are not actually the Shadow Pokemon described, those are just their normal Pokemon, and the ??? represent the Shadow Pokemon. Just claim the mission here in the OOC and I'll either send you a PM with the (list of) Shadow Pokemon, or you can send me a PM first if you want me to know pretty much as soon as I log in.

Also, even though there are five of us playing currently, and five trainers in the missions, there is no limit on the mission. You can JP these, and the trainer will have a Shadow Pokemon for each person in the mission. Later ones with rare Pokemon may have a limit. Don't worry about not actually getting the mission you want, just to complete the missions right now.

Does this mean we reserve a Trainer for us to fight? I mean, i do want to take the mission, but i dunno. If that's the case, i take Rojo. Hope it's a dang Quilava---/shot

Probably should have explained it a little better. The missions aren't required, but they're one of the easiest ways to really hand out Shadow Pokemon and create a plot hook for you to RP off of. You can ignore the mission if you want and do your own thing in town, but Station Town is really one of the most barren places I've designed (the others have much more to do), and these missions are more to give you an early second Pokemon as well as have a reasonable method for introducing the characters into the idea that Shadow Pokemon may be back again.

Also I wouldn't say reserve, but it is the basic idea. It's more of letting me and everyone else in the RP know that you're planning to tackle a specific issue (in this case battle a specific trainer), and other can know what you're doing in case they want to try to work with you on that mission.

Oh. I get it. Thanks. Also, where do we list our Pokemon? Will be there like an Etherpad where we do so? If needed, i could create one and then you could do the example of it.

I hadn't thought of that, but an Etherpad is a good idea for that. I was planning on keeping a copy of it and backing up the main IC with it (which I don't even have the initial ones up yet), but that much better. I'll have to get it set up later today and PM it to everyone.

Forgot another thing... So Shadow Pokemon are pretty much indistinguishable from their normal brethren except for their attitude by most people. The easiest way to identify them is to notice the Dark Aura they give, but the majority of people cannot see Auras. There are two ways around this:

Like Rui in Colosseum, a small subset of the population are able to see the Dark Auras. This is considerably rare, and most people have no idea about it.

Or, Like Michael, in XD, technology has advanced to where auras can be read and shadow pokemon can be identified electronically. This is the more widespread option, and your snag machine will include an Aura reader if you decide on this method.

Okay, so question about combat:

I saw what Gelius did with his post in the IC thread, but since there's a rule against bunnying I don't know if that applies to combat. So I don't know if I need special permission to post for both sides of a battle, or what.

The rule against bunnying is only really for Player Characters and potentially a few NPCs. Most trainers I put up in missions are more or less blank slates that you can bunny for combat. Things would be pretty slow if I required everyone to JP with me for every combat session, so most combat is left to you guys as free writing.

I'm also going to throw up a poll here about Colosseum Lords due to an idea LinearAxel had in Hearts Reborn, that I may want to modify steal. How would you guys want the Lord fight to go? I originally intended for players to just bunny the fight, but for the sake of personality and throwing a few potential curve balls to you guys, how would you all feel about working with me on that combat there? I would take over the role of the Lord, and you all as your character.

I'm honestly okay with either option. For continuity sake, the JP makes more sense and is also a lot more fun since it would allow us to interact more. Though I would like to voice some concern. I know in the past JPs have been a factor in RPs dying out which I would be sad to see for this. It can be quite a burden especially to do this 4 times for each Lord and I would hate to stretch you too thin. Now unless of course you are all for it and confident about not being stretched too thin, then I'm all for it.

For now though, I'll abstain from voting.

This is something I'm going to keep an eye on so I don't hold everyone back. The first Lord should be not too far off, so that should be a good test.

Also, the vote seem pretty one sided seeing as how there's only 5 of us currently, and both me and Fire are abstaining. 3 in favor of the JP (assuming they aren't external votes, left it anonymous stupidly). We'll give that method a go. Hopefully it works out well.

Yeah we'll see how it goes, a bit of a trial run of sorts. Should be interesting.

Anyways, I won't be able to get a post up until Tuesday at the earliest, unless some free time unexpectedly appears. Sorry! At least it'll be a fun post since it'll be a battle post :D

I will be away for perhaps 2 weeks if when i am on vacations i am without wifi. Therefore, i dunno when i really return. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[No, he is not McCree!]
Born working in the mines of Oreburgh City, under the glaring eye of Mt. Coronet, Seth has a hard exterior, and a strong figure. Standing at 175cm he isn't the tallest of people, but his strong yet modest muscles and confident demeanour make up for what he lacks in height. His movements are strong, and his athletic abilities are nothing to smirk at, hindered only by his smoking habits. He gives of a mysterious atmosphere, as if he were keeping many secrets, despite being fairly open with those he meets.

Seth has a slight stubble, which compliments his rough appearance, along with the cigar or cigarette which he will often be found smoking. His shoulder-length brown hair is covered partially by a brown leather cowboy hat which is slightly torn from wear. Around his neck hangs a pendant imbued with a certain magic, which allows Seth to identify Shadow Pokémon as long as he wears it. Seth sports a brown t-shirt with the sleeves often rolled up to his elbows, on top of which sits a red poncho, with a white argyle pattern around the neck. On his hands Seth wears a pair of brown leather gloves. Over his black jeans Seth has brown leather greaves, to protect the jeans from sand wear during sandstorms. These are fastened via belts stemming from the main belt around his waist. At his waist Seth also has two gun holsters, which house two revolver-like devices, being his Snag Machines. Each revolver can hold six Pokéballs, split between three sections of the canister. However each section can only hold the same type of Pokéball in each, meaning Seth can carry a total of three different types of Pokéball per revolver. On his feet, Seth wears a pair of dark brown leather boots, darker than that of his greaves or hat.

Seth doesn't often initiate conversation, but when a part of one he doesn't really hold anything back, being fairly forthcoming to those he speaks to. He also has a dry sense of humour, often being misunderstood and leading to awkward situations. In big events, Seth likes to stay back and not stand in the spotlight, leaving the front lines to others, whilst supporting from further back so as not to get in the way or have others get in his way. For this reason Seth often also likes best to work alone, or occasionally with a partner he can trust.

Seth drives a one-wheeled motorcycle, which can cross almost any terrain, which he won from a stranger in a blue coat gambling on Poker at the Outskirt Stand. This motorcycle has place for one passenger or two small Pokémon.

[a id]hist[/a id]
Having grown up in Oreburgh City, Seth is no stranger to muscle work, nor is he afraid of getting his hands dirty; both figuratively and literally. He was born under the shadow of Mt. Coronet, as a new moon shone in the sky. As a child, he was presented with his first Pokémon; a quiet Eevee with whom he spent a lot of time in the small field just north of Oreburgh, and in the mines. The two rarely communicated with each other, but seemed to understand the other just fine.

Upon reaching 4 years of age, Seth with his family moved to Pyrite Town in a shabby apartment, over the bridge from the Colosseum there. Shortly after, as Seth was 6 years old, the Shadow Pokémon crisis occurred, to which his sister and brother took a great interest. The two were both a lot old than Seth, with Lovrina being 14 and Naps being 12 at the time. Shortly after, Seth became involved in gangs in the Duel Square with his Eevee, battling others for money, or items, or just because they could. Seth proved his skill to the gang he was in and, whilst not being the best by any means, was accepted as a strong member of the gang. The group often ventured deep into the under, climbing the canyon and as a result from the exertion and the battling, Seth and his Eevee became closer, and much stronger.

Eventually, Seth stumbled across a second Eevee, abandoned in the under and ended up taking it with him, as his partner wouldn't leave without it. Seth treated the Eevee and befriended it, the pair of Eevee becoming close almost immediately. As Seth reached 11 years of age, the second Shadow Pokémon crisis started, with which his brother and sister were both confirmed to be a part of. Seth worked for the two behind the scenes, pulling strings and manipulating the townsfolk and Colosseum to help the pair in their endeavours. He also obtained various pieces of information from the ONBS, and relayed this onwards, allowing for the capture of Professor Krane. Seth helped other members of the Cipher team on and off, but eventually slunk back into the shadows as Michael began to turn the team inside out.

A while after the second incident, Seth was found by Miror B. who recruited the lad, now 19 and had him accompany his, Trudly and Folly until the group eventually disbanded. Seth still has the Miror Radar however... Today, Seth battles in Colosseum tournaments and gambles at the Outskirt Stand, being watched by the Police of Pyrite Town.
