    Very helpful, thank you! Just gotta hope all the move tutors aren't in the post game.

    Moves learned from tutors are learned in Pokecenters, from the old man on the right. Few exceptions, like draco meteor and starter moves like blast burn/pledges. You unlock a set of move every gym you defeat, up to 7 sets. I beliebe the 8th set will be released alongside gen 8.

    First things first I love the Hack but there are just a few thing I would wish for:
    1.More starter options like Eevee and Pikachu
    2.More versatile Gym challenge like if you could e.g. add all 1st Gym Leaders to Roxanne's Gym and you could choose who you fight for the 1st badge

    1. Eevee can be found right before Rustboro and Pikachu can be found in the Petalburg woods (main area), so it's not too long.
    2. That would make it easier if you could change the Gym leader according to your team.

    Maybe not sure if bug or intended, but when you level up Kerrablast or Shelmet, only one of them evolves. Given they actually need each other to evolve this makes no sense. I don't know how hard it would be to code but that means you'll need 2 shelmets or karrablasts to evolve both.

    Hey, just a thought but I think Rampardos should get that 80-base stat to their Speed instead of its physical defense since giving it only a boost to its physical defense doesn't resolve the problem Rampardos deals with being both slow and frail. Rampardos might work better as a glass cannon (being able to hit hard and have the speed to actually do some damage before it gets hit or KO'd). Also, I think Bastiodon should have that 80-base stat move to its Special attack instead of their HP stat. Bastidon can learn a lot of strong Special attack tms and I think it benefit the Pokemon having some way to actually do damage while also having the high Physical and Special defense making up for its 60 base HP stat
    Hey, Accelerock already fixes Rampardos' speed issue, but without breaking it; giving something with 165 attack and a 150 BP STAB move a usable speed stat isn't a good idea IMO, it can very easily go from kinda bad to far too strong. It plays a lot like Crawdaunt with this change, but it's got better bulk, more coverage, and slightly weaker priority. Bastiodon can do more damage with Metal Burst than it can with any of its damaging moves, and now that's got recovery it can do that over and over, so I'm also fine with it the way it is now.
    I was gonna play this rom hack but my deltapatcherlite thing doesnt work. When i open it it has the "unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)" thing. Is there any way else i can play this game without using the deltapatcher?
    You could try a different patcher, like the online one in the patching instructions.

    1. Ehh, maybe. I like the choose a region and system as is and probably won't change it.
    2. This one's a definite no, it would be a massive amount of work (sprites, teams, dialogue changes, balancing, etc.).

    Presumably that happens because you no longer have the requirements for the second one to evolve after the first one does (e.g. you'd now have an Escavalier and a Shelmet and not a Karrablast and a Shelmet when the game checks). I can maybe look into a custom evo method for them at some point but that's a low priority.

    Hello I'm just curious, why I can't get moxie on my chimchar I've been spamming chimchar to get moxie ability but it seems there's no way to get it, I always get the Iron Fist and Blaze idk if i need to do something before i can get moxie ability, btw I'm not spamming ability pill I'm at the casino spamming save & load, idk if it's a bug or I'm doing it wrong...

  • Heya again o/ So, I know this is probably something that is low priority (if it's even in the future "QoL changes list") but like, is it possible to eventually increase the maximum nickname characters to 12 (like how it is in the current gens)? Asking mostly cause some nicknames I gave my gen 6 and 7 mons are with that in mind >.>

    Use an Ability Patch on the chimchar you want it to have purchable after 6th badge at every mart guy in the pokemon center

    Hey! It's possible, but I don't think it's worth the extra save space required (two more bytes per Pokemon) or the all the work needed to redesign the HP box and other graphics that would need more space to handle two extra characters. It would also break save compatibility, so it's probably not something I'll add.
    This project looks amazing, a great way to play Hoenn adventures again!

    What Pokémon, if any, are shiny locked? (Like starters/legends/gifts. So I don't waste time hunting them)

    Also, I know the new odds are 1/1024, but does Emerald's poor RNG system exist in this ROM? (Meaning are there 'shiny frames' that each individual OT is always subjected to in order to find shiny mons)

    Love this ROM already as far as I've gotten. Replaying my fav pokemon game with extra challenge and balance is just what I needed! Thanks for all your hard work!

    Based on the FAQ on page 1 pretty sure there are no mons that are shiny locked and all of them have somewhat boosted to 1/1024 rate.

    For the question about shiny frames, this hack doesnt have it, since I myself have already shiny hunted a couple of starters and legendary already, currently shiny hunting the AshGreninja and on the 300th reset, hopefully I get it soon

    Edit: Okay I can confirm that even the gift AshGreninja can be shiny, just got it on my 320th reset, goodluck on your shiny hunts

    1. Adding more boxes would mean existing saves no longer work, so you'd have to complete the dex all over again if I did that. It's something I'll do once the hack is finished so that updating is optional.
    2. Known bug, and sadly no.

    If you could add a way to get pokeblox like buying them until the feature is fixed would be nice so contest wouldn't be dead.

    How do I know what the new abilities do? I don't see any documentation regarding those in the files attached. Also, is there a way to know what level do they learn what moves? Maybe their learnsets are based on a generation idk

    Read the "Battle Changes" pdf.

    Also @Buffel, yeah the kerrablast/shelmet shouldn't be high priority or anything, very easy to find those mons anyway. But I've seen a few pokemons with moves they learn in gen 8 compatible and some not. E.g.: Tauros can learn close combat, but not throat chop. Is this a mistake or was that going to be changed with gen 8?

    Heyo, I haven't posted here in a while, though that's mostly because I'm waiting for that big 2.0 update to drop, in order to play that and maybe give some feedback. Though for now, I do have two suggestions that have a matching theme, it being consistency with other things in the rom hack or in the games in general, though while are probably also not too needed, could potentially could end up really fun in practice.

    - First off, have all the pseudo-legendary Pokemon have 3 abilities each, to match the pseudos from Gen 6 and later. While it's a little silly to give already powerful Pokemon another set of abilities, it could also give said Pokemon new playstyles that players could have fun with, with personal examples being:
    Aerilate/Cloud Nine Dragonite,
    Heatproof Metagross,
    Anger Point Hydreigon, and others. Maybe even make some original abilities for them and other Pokemon if you wanna go completely nutty (though probably not that's too much effort for a silly idea).
    - And second off, change Mega Tyranitar's ability to something other than Sand Stream. Since pernament weather is back to being a thing that exists, Mega Tyranitar having Sand Stream doesn't make as much sense as it once did. And as a fact, the other Mega that used to have a weather setting ability before and after Mega Evolving, Abomasnow, did get a different and really nice ability with Whiteout. Making Mega Tyranitar match that would bring some more consistency to it. As for the ability it would get in exchange, maybe something more lowkey, like Battle Armor, or if you just wanna go completely silly with it, Sand Force (though that would probably mean swapping out Sand Force from another Mega like Garchomp or Steelix but eh).
