I'll start tomorrow by getting the C-Gear and then hacking in my team via GTS (earliest I can get any of these is after the 5th badge!) at 1000 exp each, just like I did for the One that Got Away Challenge.
EDIT: Okay, here's my first update:
Spoiler:
CHAPTER 1
Started out in Aspertia City. Got a Tepig Lv. 5, a Pokedex, 5 Poke Balls, and a tour of the Pokemon Center from Bianca. Beat Hugh. Went on Route 19 and learned how to catch a Pokemon. Reached Floccesy Town. Went on Route 20. Got to Flocessy Ranch. Beat Hugh again. Found the missing Herdier. Returned to Floccesy and trained with Alder. Reutrned to Aspertia and challenged the Gym. Beat Cheren and earned the Basic Badge.
Got the C-Gear and hacked in my team, all at 1000 exp:
Spoiler:
Chester the Totodile
Luna the Snorunt
Michael the Growlithe
Gordon the Snover
Stephanie the Joltik
Victoria the Axew
Went on Route 20. Reached Virbank City. Explored the Complex for a while. Went to the Gym and beat Roxie (SUPER easy with Victoria's Dragon Rage). Got the Toxic Badge.
Went to Pokestar Studios and starred in a movie. It was a smash hit. Tried to sail to Castelia City but was stopped by Team Plasma. Beat a Grunt. Found another Grunt on Route 20 and beat her too. Returned to Virbank and sailed to Castelia.
The very first rule of the challenge doesn't allow trading or hacking if you can get the Pokemon in game. While half your team was fine to be hacked in, the other half (Haxorus, Arcanine, Galvantula) are actually in your regional dex and there was no reason for you to hack them. I'll let it slide, but make sure you read the rules more clearly in other challenges and ask the OP if you're confused. While that might have been my fault since it doesn't explicitly say that, I haven't seen any other problems with that in this thread. But I'm editing the rule to make that more clear.
Ahhh okay thanks Sydian ;) I thought it was OK cuz I couldn't get any of them until I was more than halfway through the game... too late to change it now that I'm seven badges in, but thanks for clearing that up anyways
Anyways I didn't play at all over the Easter Weekend, but here's what I've done since:
Spoiler:
CHAPTER 2
Got to Castelia and beat the Team Plasma Grunts in the Sewers, during which time my Totodile, Chester, evolved into Croconaw. Met Colress, Burgh, and Iris. Went into the Gym and beat Burgh. Got the Insect Badge.
Went up Route 4 and beat Colress. Went through Join Avenue and got to Nimbasa. Beat Elesa and got the Bolt Badge.
Beat Charles on Route 5. Crossed the Driftveil Drawbridge. Met Rood, got N's Zorua, and then beat Clay in the Gym for the Quake Badge. Hacked in a Dawn Stone to evolve Luna, my Snorunt, into Froslass because I can't get one until post-game.
Beat Hugh, Cheren and Colress in the PWT. Proceeded onto Route 6. Explored Chargestone Cave, where Chester evolved again, into Feraligatr. Got to Mistralton City and met Prof. Juniper. Went up north and got through Celestial Tower for extra training, then returned to Mistralton and beat Skyla for the Jet Badge, after which Stephanie, my Joltik, evolved into Galvantula.
Skyla flew me, Bianca, and Prof. Juniper to Lentimas Town, where I found a Fire Stone and wasted no time in evolving Michael, my Growlithe, into Arcanine. Got through Reversal Mountain with Bianca's help. Got to Undella Town. Beat Hugh, after which Victoria the Axew evolved into Fraxure. Went north on Route 13. Found Cobalion and knocked it out for some EXP.
Reached Lacunosa Town. Learned about Kyurem and Zekrom. Beat Zinzolin and a Plasma Grunt and then proceeded west. Got past that 999-win-streak guy on Village Bridge, after which Gordon evolved into Abomasnow. Continued west and beat Virizion. Got to Opelucid City. After training on Route 9, challenged Drayden in the Gym and earned the Legend Badge.
*PHEW* that's a lot of stuff. Hopefully I'll be updating more in the next few days as I near the game's climax.
So, I earned my 4th badge a while ago and forgot to update. Can't remember if how hard Elessa was, but it couldn't have been that bad if I'm having trouble remembering. Desert resort was annoying as usual. Other than that, there isn't much to say.
Alright, so there's not much to say between Elessa and Clay. There's almost nothing that happens between their gyms except for some story development. I found myself quite surprised that I was high enough in level to win against Clay considering this fact. But I pulled it off somehow.
Returned to Undella Town and took the Marine Tube to Humilau. Beat Marlon and got the Wave Badge, after which Victoria the Fraxure evolved into Haxorus. The advantages of an Adamant Haxorus with near-maxed Attack EV's: 201 attack at Lv. 48!
Got the Colress MCHN from Colress on Route... 22 I think. Used it to awaken the Crustle in Seaside Cave. Got on the Plasma Frigate. Beat all the Plasmas and saw Kyurem. Chased Team Plasma to the Giant Chasm. Beat all the Plasmas, beat Colress. Met N, Zekrom, and Ghetsis. Beat Black Kyurem, and Ghetsis.
Headed west to the Pokemon League. Got through Victory Road and challenged the Elite Four. Easy peasy.
HALL OF FAME TEAM:
Victoria the Haxorus Lv. 60
Stephanie the Galvantula Lv. 60
Luna the Froslass Lv. 60
Michael the Arcanine Lv. 59
Chester the Feraligatr Lv. 59
Gordon the Abomasnow Lv. 59
Now, I wasn't sure if this was where the challenge ended, or if I had to continue playing until I beat Iris in the rematch. Just in case, I started doing the post-game stuff. Got through Clay Tunnel, Twist Mountain, that Route east of Nimbasa, and beat Alder. Now in the Black Tower.
Can somebody clarify for me if my challenge is over yet? Thanks ;)
EDIT: Oh well, it doesn't matter anyways, because after extensive training in the Black Tower, I beat the Pokemon League's Lv. 72-78's and entered the Hall of Fame a second time. I'm Champion of the Favourites Challenge! ;)
Well, it's been a month since my last update. So here's Update #2, now with five badges.
Spoiler:
Went up to Route 4. Was super surprised to see how different it was from White 2's Route 4. :O
Beat Colress. I don't remember the battle, but I imagine that Tepig was especially helpful there.
Cleared both Route 4 and the Desert Resort. Sigilyph are annoying... >_<
Started my Join Avenue off with an antique shop.
Reached Nimbasa and did some sightseeing around the main part of the city.
Cleared Routes 16 and 5, as well as the Lostlorn Forest.
Teamed up with Rosa and defeated Ingo and Emmet (hehe, "I am Emmet").
Visited Anville Town, and did the lost Pansage mini-sidequest thing.
Went into the amusement park. Got Yancy's lost Xtransceiver. Rode the roller coaster.
Nimbasa Gym. "GIMME WHAT I NEED!" Yeah, I love this gym theme! ^-^ Anyways, Elesa was pretty tricky. Volt Switching everywhere! Since Archen and Squirtle are at a disadvantage here, I don't think they got any screen time (unless I used Archen for a little bit against Emolga, which I can't recall). Tepig did a bit of damage, but I switched out because of Static. Shaymin carried the team in this battle (I actually think this may have been its first gym battle!), and won us the Bolt Badge! ^-^
Rode the Ferris Wheel with Beauty December, who seems like a spy or something? Or someone undercover? A rich girl who escaped from her manor? I have no idea what her deal is.
Trounced the Plasma goons as I'm exiting the city.
Battled and defeated the Heartbreaker, Charles, in a Rotation Battle. Haha, I'd love to see him have a conversation with Emmet! :P
Crossed the Driftveil Drawbridge (a.k.a. the Charizard Bridge, which I don't see).
Explored Driftveil City, Route 6, and as far as I could reach in Chargestone Cave.
Driftveil Gym. I really like this theme too. ^-^ Anyways, I explored every platform to make sure I missed no trainer. And then on to Clay. His Krokorok got in a Torment before falling to a crit Water Pulse from Squirtle. That Torment was really annoying, I later found. Sandslash was up next. I got in a Skull Bash that did like 1/8 damage, and Clay is impressed at the strength. I laughed. :P The Defense increase was kinda helpful, actually. It helped Squirtle survive, even after Sandslash got Hyper Potion'd, and let out a Torrent-boosted Water Pulse to knock it out. Would've done it with less hassle and less risk if Torment wasn't active, but oh well. Excadrill was last, and at this point, Squirtle was too low on health, so I brought in Shaymin, who immediately took a crit Metal Claw. We still did a number on Excadrill using Magical Leaf and Leech Seed, but I switched out to Tepig (Shaymin's HP was getting low and Bulldoze lowered its Speed), anticipating a Metal Claw. And it was... Metal Claw! So I next switched out to Archen, thinking he'd use a ground attack. But nope, Rock Slide was a OHKO. D: Then Shaymin returned, with its Speed intact, to deliver the finishing blow for our Quake Badge!
I'll rejoin this challenge, because I've cleared out my White2 and I'm just sitting there saved at the starter choosing.
(Can't come up with a team set-up I'd like to use...)
Name: Rewy Game: White2 - Challenge mode
I'll re-do my favorites list a little and just put one type on each, since the more I think about 6 different for one type, I end up going by generations and then picking one ultimate favorite for those... Then it's no longer "actual favorites".
Anyhow, list:
Spoiler:
Normal - Sawsbuck
Fire - Typhlosion
Water - Kingdra
Grass - Serperior (it was a tie with Lilligant and Whimsicott)
After I beat Clay, I blasted through the PWT tutorial. Then I cut through to Chargestone Cave, and made it to Mistralton City. Before challenging the Gym, I explored Route 7 and cleared out the Celestial Tower. I finally got the Lucky Egg, which made it possible for me to catch up with the game's average level, which I was very much below for a long time. Finally evolved Yamask. Now I only have a few levels until Deino is my only NFE.
Skyla was pretty easy. Cleaned up the Gym real fast.
