...there is a special time for the PokéCommunity. Every 20 years, on the anniversary of the PokéCommunity's formation, the barrier between the world of the spirits and the mortal realm is at its thinnest. It is only during this time that people can pass from one side to the other. It is only during this time that higher beings can reach beyond the veil and impart their blessings upon us.

Of course, such blessings are not free and these entities will not give such boons if enough spirits do not pass into their waiting grasp. Furthermore, not everyone wishes for the same blessings and only so much can pass through the barrier, even at this time. So it was that a festival was established - the Get-Together, where mortals can ask for blessings and give themselves to the world of spirits to obtain them.

Every 20 years, the clans of PokéCommunity compete for the honour of having some of their membership ascend to join the spirits and beseech their deity for its blessings. The Shackled Arqueros ask for the wrongs of the past to be righted, while the Shadowed Guerreros ask for good fortune in the future. Neither will concede to the other. So it is that the competition begins anew as a new Get-Together is upon us...

Get-Together 2022

Hi everyone and welcome to PokéCommunity's Get-Together! This is a yearly event which is all about the community together for two weeks to hang out, have fun and compete in a series of fun games and events! This year however is that little more special, as it's also celebrating 20 years of PokéCommunity!

Events will range from trivia across several areas, Pokémon battles, Jackbox and much more! This year, the GT will be running from October 9th to October 23rd.

This year, as per the lore, users will join one of two teams:

The Shadowed Guerreros, the Flames of the Future.

The Shackled Arqueros, Scions of the Past.
As you have found this thread, you should have already taken the quiz to determine which team you're on this year!

With that in mind, we will be hosting the majority of the event on our Discord server, so make sure to join and enter your result including the link (if you have lost it, you can easily access it by going to https://www.pokecommunity.com/gt/team and it will automatically bring yours up) in our #gt-launch channel, so we can get you set up and in your team so you can chat with your teammates and start participating!

If you are not able to create and account and access the Discord server, then please post your results in the GT Results thread, so we can make sure to assign your points to the right team!

Feel free to have a look around at the events in this section whilst you are here, we'd also advise checking the Event Schedule (hyperlink for schedule thread here) so you can get familiar with when thing will be running.

If there are any questions, feel free to drop a message to the GT Management Team, which is myself, gimmepie and Fairy!

Hey everyone, just an update regarding some events.

We've been made aware, and noticed, that a few events have kinda exploded in point counts, resulting in three events contributing to 75% of the total points for the GT. As a result, we'll be cutting back those scores quite drastically to bring things back in line with the other events, as it was actually at a point where these events were worth up to 5 of the longer events, which is a bit crazy. So you're going to notice a BIG drop in the points, but hopefully something a bit more realistic. We've tried to keep the ratios the same, so that if one team was winning, they still should be. We've also tried to keep points in for participation etc - this is especially true for Spot the Difference where due to some crossed wires, points were being given out that shouldn't have been, however it would be unfair to remove all of those completely for a problem our end.

The events affected are:

- Pictionary
- Spot the Difference
- Forum Games & Pokémon Trivia Spotlight

The new point totals will be as such:

- Pictionary - 90 Points to Guerreros, 80 to Arqueros
- Spot the Difference - 255 Points to Guerreros, 225 to Arqueros
- FGPT Spotlight - 155 Points to Guerreros, 130 to Arqueros

GT Management apologise that this has come up and so close to the end of the Get-Together as well; this was something that could've been picked up earlier potentially and sorted out a bit quicker so the events could still run with the correct values in mind. We did try to envision as best as we could how the events would pan out and in some instances I think there were some crossed wires; we've tried as best as we can to resolve it so that generally speaking we've got the same ratio of points but we haven't got the massive skew that was caused by these events.

Feel free to contact a member of GT Management (myself, gimmepie or Fairy) with any questions!

Hey everyone - with all our events now closed and the remaining Achievements handed out, we are now officially declaring the Get-Together XIX over!

It's been a fantastic 2 weeks, we've definitely had some bumpy moments but overall I think it's turned out great! Thank you firstly to everyone who joined the event to participate - overall we had 161 members join this year's GT! Of course the events wouldn't exist and the GT function without you, so thank you once more for, well, being part of the community! I hope that you have all enjoyed what we've set up this year, I know I for the most part have!

I'd like to also extend thanks to our Event Organisers! They've worked hard to get these events up and running to a point they are GT-ready, as well as had to put up with me and GP, and they've done a fantastic job! We've missed out on some oldies for sure, but the events this year have been amazing nevertheless and the new additions have been fantastic! I really hope some of these make it back next year (especially the Amiibo Casino, I will keep touting how incredible this event was!!!!!!!!!). Definitely need a lot of applause the lot of you, you've been great!

Lastly I'd like to personally thank the people behind the scenes that have helped get the GT get off the ground. I won't lie it has been a very stressful time for me help put this together and well I hope that regardless of that we've put together a great GT for everyone! Y'all being:

- GP/Fairy -> ty fellow gt management for helping where you can, considering we were at points building this as just the three of us, I think we did pretty damn good!
- PC Admins -> ty for letting us harass you constantly with questions and scoreboard updates and the like and for just taking so much time out to get things set up for the GT, it's super appreciated!
- The Icons -> you know who you are, ty for letting me rant <3
- Anna & 5qwerty -> you've both been absolutely incredible throughout this thing (and before in Anna's case!), helping me with a lot of stuff (especially as most of the time that's me forgetting something and not having a clear head to fix it)! <3

So with that out of the way, I again thank you all on behalf of PC for joining the Get-Together this year! I guess we should announce those winners huh. With a grand total of 3,983 points to the other team's 2,563 points, this year's winners are...

TEAM GUERREROS!!!!!!!!!

Great work guys, am please to finally be on the winning team! You all were SUPER amazing and an absolute blast to hang out with, really y'all are super amazing <3. We'll leave everything open for a little bit for y'all to have a bit of an afterparty, so to speak.

Now should you wish to simply express how much you liked the GT, or provide feedback on how it went this year, please feel free to discuss here in our feedback thread: https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=10564234#post10564234

And now... I think I'm going to go take a month off, bye!
