which pokemon has worst designs gen 1 or gen 5?

People will complain about ice cream cone pokemon and chandelier pokemon, meanwhile gen 1 has literally a rock, a body builder, a bee, and many more things that are just something that exists but ""zany"". I will happily take gen 5 designs

I think gen 5 is fine. They do have a lot of very interesting Pokemon designs, especially the legendary dragons. Obviously, after multiple generations of adjusting the formula they came up with a way to design that is a lot more consistent and thus allows for new Pokemon to be created in a more streamlined fashion. Thinking back to gen 1: all they had back then was actual monsters and objects to base the designs on. And that resulted in gen 1 Pokemon looking a lot more like actual monsters/objects/animals.

Why people vote gen 5 designs are uglier than gen 1? Y'all buncha gen winners.

Gen 5 imo has the worse designs. Gen 5 felt weird. and yes there are good gen 5 pokemon. that is not being contested. but i feel like gen 1 has stood the test of time, and even if part of that reason is the fact it was first, they're all iconic. so iconic, that gen 5 literally tries to mirror some of them ( Woobat -> Zubat, Geodude -> Gigalith line, rattata -> patrat, amongst many others) gen 5 had a bunch of awesome pokemon, but it by and far, had the worst of the bunch as well to me.

no, i do like the idea of garbodor and vanilluxe, i think they're good actually, we are pocket monsters afterall, but the elemental monkeys are just kind of uninspired as well as marking the first generation where i was either indifferent or didn't like any of the starters at all. obviously, even that grew on me over time, but i do think it's telling how much of the community disliked them during their time as opposed to XY, which i think while not having nearly as many pokemon, definitely had alot higher quality pokemon.

Gen 5 has some of the best designs in my opinion it has chandelure, the legendarys are awesome, samurott, my fave lilligant i can go on for hours

Neither. Every Gen has its good and bad designs.

For me, I like both of their designs.

Worst? Neither
Boring? Gen 1

I think Gen 5 has the very worst Pokemon; but the roster still better on average. Most of the Gen 1 Pokemon are fine, they're just very basic compared to the later games.
