[Completed] Pokémon Retired Champion - A strategy-based Pokémon fangame (v1.0.10) (BIG UPDATE SOON, ETA: APRIL-MAY)

hey, does this game have shared exp and speed-up?
No speed-up because each battle matters in this game, and you don't have too much to walk (and you can run by pressing Z).
Also, no shared exp because you don't gain exp from battling. All Pokémons have fixed levels.

Hey! It's been a while. I saw other fangames like (broken link removed) who were able to implement Terastalization amazingly, and I was wondering if the SV Content Update is coming soon to your game as well. (*^▽^*)

Hey :)
The Gen 9 update is in the works. I have implemented everything Gen 9 (items, abilities, moves, Terastal) myself, but I am waiting for the Gen 9 sprites by Smogon... I see Pokémon Itinerant has sprites for Gen 9 Pokémons, I'll see if it has them all, and if yes, maybe I'll use them as placehlders before Smogon finally releases the sprites.
I also want to add a few new features (shall I spoil?), and maybe rework the story a little bit (as the main criticism I got was that the story was "meh").

Would be cool if this was more "simulator" like. This is the closest fan game I've found to a battle simulator. I'd love to keep track of both wins and losses. Not win and continue with no other option. Just my opinion though. Also would be cool if this game had the battle factory with those rental mons :) ... also tournaments :) pls

I would love to see the update, just take your time and make all the necessary changes that you think will improve the game further, no pressure and just enjoy what you're doing. I think it would be a good idea to borrow from Itinerant for now since we have no idea when will Smogon release its own version, I'll try to confirm with the creators of Itinerant if they have the complete sprite sheet and if they can lend it, I'll give you an update about that.

I think spoiling a bit of the feature planned would excite some fans, but yeah it's up to you. About the plot, I think it's good it just needs some polish, I can guarantee that you're doing well. I hope everything goes well!

Another game that has all the Gen 9 sprites, if I'm not mistaken, is Pokemon Island. You could try reaching out to their creator as well, if you want.

Are there system requirements? For some reason it won't start, even after installing the fonts.

Sorry I forgot to respond.

It's an RPG Maker game, it has as low system requirements as possible...
Did you manage to solve the issue?

I've tried to follow the known issues section cus' my game won't open, but it won't work. Is there another way to make it open?

Hello and thank you for your interest :)
Can you give me more information? What OS do you use? DOes the game open and instantly close, or it just doesn't open at all? Have you tried to run it as administrator?

Thanks for responding, I use Windows for OS, and when I try to open it, it kinda does the loading thing but it closes before the application fully runs. I've just tried to run it as an administrator, and it loads a little bit longer, but still doesn't open.

the game runs fine but if I try to load the game after saving, it just shows this error and doesn't work

Maybe your antivirus is doing something?
Or did you download the audio, and maybe the audio is missing?
Or did you unzip the files in a weird place of your computer?
I would try to google the issue but for general RPG maker games...

Alright so, after days of pain trying to find the problem, and I have no idea what I did, but the game just randomly ran. So, I'm just gonna thank you right here for trying to help my situation, Thanks! (btw have a nice day)

Your Windows hides the extension, but this is the file I needed :)

Hello, this is a really cool game! However, I encountered a HUGE bug that basically softlocked me. Here's the contents of my traceback.log file.

This is weird, I thought I had a protection against this...
You have a form of Aerodactyl on one of your teams, with a non-initialised ability. You'll have to delete and rebuild the team.
