A nation, torn between two warring factions...
A land, divided by the powers of light and darkness...
A person, with a troubled past...
You awake in a jail-cell. It's the same scenery you've seen for the past four years. Yet something seems a bit... off. The door to your cell is wide open. Stepping outside, you notice even more cells are open, and a guard lies knocked out on the ground. You make your way outside of the jail, where an escaped prisoner informs you of the riot that had taken place not an hour before you awoke. Approaching the Riot Leader, he fills you in on what had transpired. He asks you a few uncomfortable questions about your past, and offers you one of the guard's numerous pokemon to aid you on your mysterious journey.
The path you take from here will decide your fate. The two factions are vying for control, and whether you like it or not, you'll be thrown in the middle. Will you side with Eon, and his army of "holy soldiers" fighting for "the greater good"? Or will you side with Mistique on her conquest of the land, smashing all opposition under her mighty fist?
Each decision you make will guide you either down the path of righteousness, or down the path of darkness. This land is in turmoil, and it is up to you to fix it, lest it fall into decay. Don't let down your guard, and remember: Nothing is as it seems...
New Region: The wartorn land of Enercia.
New Maps.
New Good/Evil System (if at all possible): Your actions and decisions in-game affect your disposition, which, in turn, affects the disposition of your pokémon. If your character is Evil, then your pokemon will come to reflect it, sometimes as severe as physical changes (recoloring of the shiny sprites). Ever wanted to use Shadow pokemon in-game? ;)
New dialouge options (hopefully): Tired of the game deciding what you say for you? Ever wanted to say something other than YES/NO? Your choices in conversation will effect your disposition, so watch what you say. EXAMPLE:
Guard: "Hey, you! What are you doing in here! This area is restricted to qualified personel only!"
You: "1. I'm looking for someone/something. Could you help me out? (Leads to possible non-conflict ending of conversation (Gives point to Good disposition))
2. Sorry, I must have gotten turned around. I'll be going now. (Ends conversation(Neutral disposition))
3. Whatever I please. Got an issue with it? (Ends the conversation, and starts a trainer battle(Gives point to Bad disposition, makes the guard run and tell his boss))"
The parts in brackets won't be in game, but that's the gist of what I want to do.
New Alliance System (again, hopefully): Your choices within the faction of your choosing will increase/decrease your alignment with the faction. NPCs in-game will react to this, through normal comment or even a full-blown battle!
Romance! (lolwut?): Seriously. A (completely) optional side-quest which will let you flirt with four different people, two for each faction, a boy and a girl. There are no gender restrictions on what they say, so boys can get the boy or the girl, and girls can get the girl or the boy. This will work off of the alliance system, whereas what you say to them will effect their level of amour, as well as your standing within the faction (this one is more important, as the dialouge won't be availiable until you progress to a certain point).
A few new items: Light and Shadow items to aid your pokémon. Light only works for Good pokémon, as Shadow only works for Bad pokémon.
Interesting choice of starter pokémon: Growlithe, Houndour, and Poochyena.
Unfortunately, since I'm such a beginner at these things, I have a few things I need help with :(. Okay. More than a few. Here they are, in order of importance:
Insertion of new dialouge options
Good/Evil System
Alliance System
Removing the Rival Naming section, and editting the Professor Oak part
Removing the message by Green Charizard that appears at the beginning when using his ROM base I've decided not to use his ROM base, not because I don't like it, but because it bugs alot of the turfs, making them unusable/impractical.
Making a new opening movie
Various and multiple scripts, ie making a character walk up to the player, making the player follow someone, making the entire game cut to a scene with someone else somewhere else in the game (like a cutscene). Others I'll post as they come up, or if PMed I will give an extensive list
Multiple instances of spriting, most notably editting the 'shiny' pokemon sprites to be evil. I'd like this done in a 'Shadow' theme, think, "Shadow Lugia" (the only example I can give, since, of course, I haven't seen any other shadow pokemon)
Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated, will get your name in the credits (even if it's a small contribution, I'd like those that helped recognized :)), and will get a good mark placed on your karma card :Db

*~UPDATE~* This hack, though FireRed right now, may well turn into a pokemon Diamond/Pearl hack, or even better, a Platinum hack. I have base roms for both, and a working (yey ^.^) NDS emulator. But until I can find a map editor/script editor for DPP, I'm going to continue as a FireRed hack. So wish me luck people! :Db
