  • Sniper has come into a decision. He votes for tightening security, he has no care of the consequences: irritating the Draconian Villages. Weeding out those who illiberally brings the drugs is much important than the selfish matters of Draconians. In addition, they should help so that they may "request" for security to get off their properties.

    Soldier Progression (Basic, Pokemon)

Each time you participate in a Soldier-related event you may earn one or more Soldier Points, or SP. SP are an OOC currency that can be spent in a variety of ways. The following bonuses are the most basic. (Note: Some of these may not make sense if you haven't already read the Combat Tutorial.) These prices are still being evaluated and may change. As Cerian combat uses PTU, most of these are adapted from PTU.

Additional Soldier characters may be purchased for 3 SP for a Cerian native Pokemon and 5 SP for a non-Cerian native Pokemon, however they cannot typically participate in the same events at once. If Ceriah currently has another region listed with a "+" under Foreign Relations, you may treat Pokemon in that region's Pokedex as Cerian native for the purpose of SP cost. If you own multiple Soldiers, SP are interchangeable between them.

    1 SP

    - Change Affinity (must redistribute stats)
    - Change Ability to either Non-Hidden Ability
    - Learn a Tutor Move
    - Learn a TM Move
    - Raise a Base Stat by 1 (up to five times, influences BSR, can be reset)
    - Raise a Skill by 1 (once per skill)
    - Increase the Power Capability by 1 (only once)
    - Increase both Jump Capabilities by 1 (only once)

    2 SP

    - Raise the Move Frequency of one Move (only once per Pokemon, can be reset)
    - Increase a Movement Capability by 2 (only once per Movement Capability; Underdog Pokemon may apply this to the same Movement Capability twice, but this is refunded if they evolve to a species that is no longer an Underdog)
    - Learn an Egg Move
    - Change Ability to Hidden Ability

    3 SP

    - Gain one of the following: +1 to all Base Stats, +2 to two different Base Stats, or +3 to a single Base Stat. Then redistributes Stat Points. (only once)

(The following are "Edges," "Poke Edges," and "Features" taken from the Pokemon Tabletop United Core Rulebook. In-game costs have been removed and replaced with Cerian costs. Ignore all prerequisites related to level. These may additionally be taken by human soldiers when applicable.)

    1 SP

    Attack Conflict
    Prerequisites: None
Effect: Select Attack or Special Attack. From now on, that Stat does not need to remain higher than Stats it surpasses in Base Relations, and similarly all other Stats surpassed by it do not need to remain lower.

    Mixed Sweeper
    [Ranked 3]
Rank 1 Prerequisites: Level 10, Invested at least 5 Level-Up Stat Points into both Attack and Special Attack
Rank 2 Prerequisites: Level 20, Invested at least 10 Level-Up Stat Points into both Attack and Special Attack
Rank 3 Prerequisites: Level 40, Invested at least 15 Level-Up Stat Points into both Attack and Special Attack
Cost: 1 [Soldier Point] each Rank
Effect: Each Rank, the user gains 3 Stat Points to distribute freely between HP, Defense, Special Defense, or Speed. These bonus points are treated as if they were "Level Up" points, and do not alter Base Stats.

The following upgrades have been removed and are being rebalanced!

    Soldier Progression (Augmentations)

Most Augmentations are permanent and usually cannot be undone without causing massive trauma to the patient's body. Think carefully before choosing an Augmentation! Augmented Pokemon are not tournament-legal (with the exception of the Data Jack augmentation). All Augmentations listed here are from the Pokemon Tabletop United sci-fi supplement book, "Do Porygon Dream of Mareep?"

Foreigners should never be assumed to have more than at best vague knowledge of these augmentations or procedures. No information regarding these augmentations - besides the Datajack - are available to Cerian civilians and none are noticeable outside of combat.

The following is almost all directly quoted from "Do Porygons Dream of Mareep?"

"All Pokémon and Trainers have a limited capacity for how much their bodies can be augmented by technology. Whether the augmentations are mechanical or biological in nature, the body tends to reject foreign elements, and it is delicate work to coax the body into treating an Augmentation as part of itself. People who require organ transplants often require drugs for the rest of their lives to trick their immune systems into treating their new organs as their own. The process is even more complicated for Augmentations.

Pokémon and Trainers have an Augmentation Capacity of 10. Each installed Augmentation consumes a certain amount of this Augmentation capacity."

"In addition to the Capacity used by a particular Augmentation, each Augmentation is installed in a particular body part. Augmentations which are installed in the same slot are not compatible with each other. Pokémon lacking the requisite body part may not use an Augmentation."

"Limb Augmentations obviously affect the limbs. Body Augmentations are thorough and invasive Augmentations that are spread throughout the core of someone's body. Dermal Augmentations replace skin all over the body but do not affect internal tissue. Eye Augmentations replace or supplement the eyes."

"Augmentations are easily damaged by electrical damage. Whenever an Augmented Pokémon or Trainer takes Electric Type damage in excess of 25% of their Maximum Hit Points or suffers the effects of Thunder Wave or an EMP weapon, they go into Augmentation Shock. For targets with Electric-Type Immunity, calculate the damage they would take if they were Doubly Resistant for the purposes of determining whether they suffer Augmentation Shock. Thunder Wave still causes Augmentation Shock for these targets. When a Pokémon or Trainer goes into Augmentation Shock, their Augmentations are disabled for 2 rounds. At the GM's discretion, particularly powerful electromagnetic interference may leave Augmentations disabled for longer. In addition, they suffer a penalty to all rolls and to their Evasion equal to half of their used Augmentation Capacity for that duration. For example, a Trainer with the Medical Nanobots and Dermal Plating Augmentations has used 6 Augmentation Capacity, so they would suffer a -3 penalty.

In addition to the Shock penalty, there are obvious downsides to your Augmentations being disabled. However, Trainers and Pokémon are never left completely disabled from having their Augmentations shut down. For instance, if you have had your eyes augmented, you may find yourself suffering an Accuracy Penalty, but you would still be able to see at a basic level."

    0 SP (Standard)

    "Datajack
    Slot: n/a
    Capacity Used: 0
Effect: The user may directly interface with [Cerian] computers, accessing the data through an Eye Slot Augmentation, external visor, Pokédex, or internal computer. The user can communicate wirelessly with others over [Cerian] networks using the Datajack."

The Datajack Augmentation is free and standard on Cerian soldiers; it's how Pokemon and human soldiers are capable of communication. Soldiers must receive an Eye Augmentation to use this Augmentation via the Eye Slot. It's standard to use this Augmentation via an external visor built into a helmet, with a handheld computer for back-up in the event that this is somehow damaged. Soldiers are free to reject receiving this augmentation, though doing so is considered deleterious to one's comrades.

In addition, some Cerian citizens choose to purchase this Augmentation despite the monetary costs. As some Cerian Pokemon can speak through various devices without the need to type, it's somewhat of a misconception that Cerian software is capable of directly translating and speaking a person's thoughts. In actuality, the Pokemon is actually simply directly interfacing with the software in place of typing; someone that did not know how to read and write would be incapable of this.

It must be stressed again that this doesn't let you see the data "in your head." It's more akin to being able to type on a (highly advanced and sophisticated) keyboard; if you were trying to access information with your keyboard and didn't have a screen, you wouldn't be able to see it through the keyboard!

    1 SP

    "Enhanced Sight
    Slot: Eyes
    Capacity Used: 1
Effect: The user can see in the IR spectrum and gains the Darkvision Capability."

    "Smart Vision
    Slot: Eyes
    Capacity Used: 2
Effect: The user cannot have their Accuracy lowered, and their attacks cannot have Accuracy Penalties. The user is immune to the Blinded condition (but not Total Blindness)."

    2 SP

    "Synthetic Muscle
    Slot: Limbs
    Capacity Used: 2
Effect: The user gains a +2 bonus to their Power Capability and +1 to both High and Long Jump Capabilities."

    3 SP

    "Medical Nanobots
    Slot: Body
    Capacity Used: 2
Effect: Three times a day as an Extended Action, the user may gain a Digestion Buff as if they had consumed Leftovers. This does not take up one of the user's normal Digestion Buff slots, but they may only have one Digestion Buff gained this way at a time."

    "Wired Reflexes
    Slot: Body
    Capacity Used: 3
Effect: The user begins each Scene with two Reflex Points. These may be spent as a Swift Action on their turn to give them a +2 bonus to their Accuracy (before rolling) or their Evasion for one full round."

    4 SP

    "Sub-Dermal Plating
    Slot: Dermal
    Capacity Used: 3
Effect: Once a Scene, the user may take Physical Damage as if they resisted it one step further."

    5 SP

    "Thermal-Optical Camouflage
    Slot: Dermal
    Capacity Used: 4
Effect: The user may activate the Invisibility Capability once per Scene. While Invisible, the user can't be seen by thermal imagining equipment."

Though Ceriah is a hub of technology, it's cities are somewhat "bubbled" off from the surrounding wilderness of Wyvern's Vale. Besides the farms of the plains, a number of port cities along the water, and the abandoned mines of the past, Cerian wilderness has been relatively untouched by the Cerian civilization for decades and put aside as a reserve for the original natives. Though most people will immediately think of the tribes of dragons for which Wyvern's Vale is named, there are indeed dragon-less communities as well.

Commonly referred to as sovereign villages or factions depending on their size, these communities do engage in some trade with Ceriah. Though most foreigners seem to expect them to have little more than sticks and brambles, many of them possess technologies such as radios, computers, televisions, and some amount of Cerian weaponry. In general, however, their cultures tend to be more traditional. As none of the original tribes had human members, humans tend to be uncommon among their numbers, but not rare.

It's a point of importance that these communities, large or small, do not follow Cerian law; they're entirely sovereign and each is recognized by Ceriah as owning the land they inhabit.

    Smoking Them Out, A Note

I think the gist of the choice might have been misunderstood due to the way I worded it, so I'm going to make one final note before finalizing votes.

The issue wasn't meant to be a question of making people angry. The opposing side will likely be upset that the other policy passed no matter which one passes. The issue was meant to be a conflict of whether it's worth causing severe segregation (since it would become arduous to cross city borders) between Cerian cities and what are essentially the Indian reserves on our land to catch the smugglers.

I'm noting this because people seem the think the primary reason not to do so is to not make people upset, whereas both choices will make people upset. The intended conflict was "Are the effects this will have on our society as a whole worth lowering the effectiveness of the smugglers?"

Ceriah has had a general policy of being rather reserved in the past in regards to other regions. Though their views are considered by many to be highly progressive, they're made little effort in the past to influence foreign policies and have instead preferred to keep to themselves. This has been changing recently, however, with a precedent being set in modern Raoga.

After reviewing Raoga's policies, Ceriah has been pleased to find that capturing a Pokemon against it's will is not merely looked down upon by society; it's illegal and if reported warrants police intervention to release the Pokemon in question. Pokemon in Raoga, while not having citizen status, must be befriended and not taken against their will. Ceriah is proud to find that this neighboring region places due importance on Pokemon consent.

After some discussion, Ceriah has decided to ally itself with Raoga and will be providing the neighboring region with a shipment of modified Cerian Poke balls in hopes that they'll become the standard in a region that sees little reason to imprison Pokemon.

Ceriah is now Allies with Raoga.

It seemed the citizenry had abandoned their concerns for the "drug crisis."

"Terror in Ceriah," one news source had cutely titled it. A joke, much like the issue people made of it. If citizens wished to destroy their biology, Zandr saw no reason to prohibit them. Perhaps they might create a special dome just for them, filled with the smoke and death they were so fond of, so that they might cull them all the faster.

There were some who chose to hope, for whatever that was worth, that Ceriah would be somewhat shielded. It was surrounded by an allied region on nearly every side and had not been targeted by the mysterious commander's initial attack.

Zandr cared nothing for hopes, only probabilities.

Many who called themselves sovereign were flooding into the cities now, some to escape and some to bolster the Cerian armies. Many of the smaller communities who still held to the ideals of the warrior made to enlist, even the most headstrong among them knowing their meager armies could not compare to those of the enemy that faced them now. So they chose to integrate themselves into the great armies of Ceriah. If there was anything Zandr would lack, it would not be soldiers.

The cities filled, the people hushed in their bunkers, and the great halls closed like a vault to the outside world.

And then there was nothing to do but wait.

At a distance, one might have mistaken a good part of the foreign armies for an oddly colored cloud.

Pokemon that couldn't fly rode on the backs of those that could. Gyarados carried greater numbers still upon their backs and dragged ships behind them on great metal chains. It seemed they hadn't quite mastered the art of steering a seafaring vessel yet.

The war council watched silently through the eyes of the first drone to spot an enemy force.

"They have ships," one member mumbled to no one in particular.

"Did you think they came across the ocean on grit and saltwater? They need supplies."

"Those ships look Heiwaian," someone noted.

"Heiwa makes ships for a lot of regions. Could be from anywhere."

"Irrelevant," Zandr interrupted, coldly regarding the screen as the enemy drew nearer to the shore, "Pull the drone back. Do not let them see it. Do not lose vision."

Some believed that Mewtwo, who had caused so much havoc with its psychic powers of suggestion in other regions, was commanding its many armies in much the same way. Yet few could play ten games of chess at once while the heat of battle raged around them.

The general of this army, the clone of an Alakazam with origins unknown, was playing this particular game of chess.

She knew the location of the tunnels that would lead her into the Cerian cities. She even knew much of their layouts. Though Ceriah was among the number of regions Mewtwo had not targeted in his previous attack, it had not escaped his notice.

Despite her form, she was young as all the clones were young and there had been much for her to learn of warfare. The strategies of so many different creatures, how to utilize them together to their fullest, and what measures the enemies would be best served using against them. That was to say nothing of the technologies utilized during wartimes.

The Cerians would have supplies and technology she had found little means to research and scarce time to understand. They would know this land better than her. Their generals knew their soldiers better than she knew hers. Everything she knew of war she knew secondhand.

And yet, this attack needed to be swift. She didn't have the supply lines to siege the cities and her army would not be sustained by the land alone. Even now, what she had was dwindling. She couldn't afford to be anything but quick and decisive.

She hoped Mewtwo knew what he was doing.

Sentries cawed alarm: something in the skies. Sleek and silver, metallic and fast. Before she could figure out what it she was already ordering Tailwinds cast, units into the sky, Flamethrowers against steel. There were more of them. One exploded as the attacks penetrated its hull, engulfing several of her soldiers in a massive blast. Several fired shots into her army, bright like Flash Cannons.

The flock of Metal Things was fast, but her numbers were great and her soldiers knew now to keep at range. These things did not threaten her. They could not even penetrate the outer layers of her defenses.

She smiled as the last of them fell, empty metal husks sizzling on the ground. It seemed the Cerians were too frightened to send real soldiers. Those who had been hit and those few who had fainted were already being tended to. If this was a proper Cerian greeting then perhaps this would not be so difficult as she had anticipated.

Back in the water, metallic creatures no bigger than Rattata whirred past Gyarados whose eyes were locked onto the sky. With legs like spiders and tiny drills they penetrated the ships, scuttling in complete silence until they found the stockrooms.

The Alakazam was still smiling when in unison the Flash Cannons began ripping through the walls of each ship, through crates and crates of supplies.

The enemy force was initially gathered in bulk on the shore, over the southern mountain range and across a thick strip of Cerian forest. Zandr watched as they began their march north and then west. Someone else in the same position might have smiled.

    Zandr didn't smile.

The enemy supplies had been decimated, their course set. They would not be sustained by the forests nor the mountains and hunger would make their troops weak. They needed a victory now. That would make them desperate. It would allow Ceriah to play defensively, to risk less lives.

They had sent what forces they could overseas to help Yoko. Now they needed to defend their homes.

Zandr could see the bulk of the enemy army through the eyes of a drone not yet destroyed. A large Cerian air force moved into position far above them, their presence quietly taunting the enemy's aerial forces to separate from their ground support. They refused. Objects were dropped from claws and talons and hatches above. Opposing Flying types swiftly moved in with Protects, large explosions harmlessly diverted. The harassment continued, neither side committing to a confrontation.

    They didn't need to.

Zandr spoke. "This army cannot penetrate a Cerian city." Cool, calculating eyes swept over their numbers. "These soldiers cannot dig through solid rock, they are not ghosts, they cannot teleport. Almost half of them are flight-capable, disadvantaged underground." Zandr's eyes flicked across the screen, across Pokemon ill-suited to Ceriah's great halls.

"It could be they're using the same base units for each region in our cluster," someone suggested, "Their composition would be good for assault on Dulra, Raoga, so on... Open air towns vulnerable to aerial assault."

"They have a larger force here than a lot of other nations," another man noted, "It could be they're banking on numbers making up for bad composition."

They were all quiet for a moment, watching the screen.

"They intuitively swat aside bombs dropped on their heads," Zandr noted. Not many regions utilized explosives.

"Enemy drops something at you from the sky, you keep it from reaching your army," came the answer, "You don't even need to know what a bomb is to figure that out."

He was correct, of course. Teaching Protect to a number of aerial units and keeping them in formation above your army was a logical thing to do. The enemy's army composition made sense - against the surrounding regions. Their larger numbers made sense - if they were trying to brute force their way through a disadvantage.

    Zandr was not satisfied.

There's a funny little phenomenon among people known as "hindsight bias."

When someone is told the outcome of an event, it's someone's natural inclination to look at the evidence that would have suggested that outcome and say they would have predicted it themselves. Regardless of evidence pointing to alternative outcomes, the one that occurred was clearly the obvious outcome. When a group fails to take a very specific precaution and a problem occurs that could have been prevented by that very specific precaution, it was obvious they should have taken it and they were clearly liable for not.

Experiments have shown people to do this even when told a false outcome.

In a very particular room a very particular machine began to pick up signs of something of an ethereal nature moving through the earth around the Cerian capital, something giving off all the signs of an electrical being. Then there were multiple somethings and even more, until they were flooding the screen.

It was quickly concluded that these entities were Rotom. Yet Ceriah had long studied Rotom and had precautions against them. Mechs and war machines were built to accommodate Rotom soldiers, but a Rotom not recognized by the mechs to have proper clearance could not access them nor any other potentially dangerous Cerian device.

The Rotom's numbers became too condensed for the machine to track, though they knew there were many. This new and unknown force converged towards a great military base in the Cerian capital that an outside source should have had no method of locating. Cerian soldiers swarmed the base, morale surging. The Rotom would try to take the war machines. They would fail.

Maybe, when it was all done, they would say what happened next had been obvious all along.

In a room where people spoke of war, Zandr absorbed this new information as apprehension claimed the council. "A second army." Questions were answered. More were raised. The army sitting on their land was already huge. Something was wrong.

A hush fell over the room, the conclusion no one wanted to make.

"He doesn't understand our computers. He doesn't know the Rotom won't work," someone said, breaking the silence, "This is good. We can take out the Rotom when they come up. Rotom are weak without hosts. The first army won't be able to breach the city and he'll have to divert more forces to Ceriah or give up."

Zandr didn't answer. Something was wrong. Something had gone unconsidered.

The Rotom were almost upon the base when it clicked.

"Destroy the mechs!" Zandr hissed. There were too many. Their own Rotom couldn't hope to hold possession of the vehicles. "Destroy the tanks. Destroy everything. Do not let the Rotom near them." The order went out, but it was too late. Cerian devices were fool-proofed against Rotom without the proper clearance.

And the enemy was using clones.

What happens next in "In Defense of Ceriah" will now branch depending on whether or not Ceriah wins the contest to determine how Mewtwo is defeated. If we lose, an alternate set of events will be posted here as well as a link to our entry. Stay tuned for the exciting second half!

The Cerian Coaching Minigame (Open Beta)

Welcome to the Cerian Pokemon Coaching minigame! If you want to challenge Cerian gyms and participate in battle-related events, this is where you want to be. This is a competitive game that uses Pokemon Showdown to resolve battles, wherein all Pokemon are scaled up to level 100 with levels primarily determining what moves you've unlocked. You may play this game with one Cerian coach and one bonus foreign character (meaning, the character is already accepted in another region) from each region marked with a "+" symbol in Ceriah's Foreign Relations.

It cannot be stressed enough that these game mechanics are not meant to be an accurate representation of being a Cerian coach. This is first and foremost a game. The game mechanics do not directly correlate to any in-character actions. For example...

You've decided that in-game you'd like to move your character to Ceriah while remaining in Raoga in-character? Fine. You recruited this Torchic at level five and want to say the two of you met at a Cerian bar when he was already a Blaziken? No problem. Want to say you recruited a Charizard even though you don't have one in-game? You won't be able to use him in in-game battles, but you can say he's with you all you like!

To start, choose one three-stage Pokemon. Don't be shy about it's rarity; just pick what you want! It doesn't need to be native to Ceriah. It begins at level five with the Ability of your choice. It cannot have its Hidden Ability or any Egg Moves.

Your first week and every week after you join, restarting on Saturday, you'll get three actions per character. Those actions can be spent: coaching a Pokemon, recruiting a new Pokemon, traveling, or challenging a gym leader. Challenging a gym costs two actions.

Coach: Choose one Pokemon. It gains levels depending on its leveling rate. From Slow to Fast, the rates are 4, 5, 6, and 7 levels per action. After a Pokemon has gained every benefit it can gain from leveling (unlocked all possible evolutions and level-up moves) it's considered "capped" and it's level is no longer tracked. Pokemon that evolve from friendship can evolve starting at level fifteen unless they evolve via some other means before a friendship evolution. Pokemon that evolve from evolutionary items can evolve starting at level twenty-five with some exceptions that will be listed below. Mega stones are unlocked after six badges.

Some Pokemon - such as Lucario - have certain powerful "Start" moves restricted upon evolution. If your Pokemon gains a number of Start moves upon evolving, ask me which ones are valid and which must be tutored.

Recruit: Choose one Pokemon native to the region you're in. You unlock that Pokemon at level five. You need two badges to unlock single form Pokemon or any of Gligar, Murkrow, Scyther, Sneasel, Tangela, and Yanma. You need six badges to unlock additional pseudo-legendaries and starter Pokemon.

Travel: Choose another WoPC region. You are now considered to be in that region. You must check with the region's owners - or ask me to do it - before declaring this. All Recruit actions now pull from that region's native Pokemon. You may move back to Ceriah as a free action when you're done. You must be in the same region as another coach to battle them.

If Ceriah recognizes a particular region as being in line with Cerian policies then you may move between Ceriah and that region for free. Regions with this status are marked with a "+" symbol in Foreign Relations.

Battle: Both you and another player spend one action each. Work together to agree on a fair level. Pokemon used to cannot use moves they cannot learn before that level and cannot be Pokemon they cannot evolve into before that level. Use standard gym rules. Both players battle on Showdown and PM the video to me. The winner can distribute two Coach actions between the participating Pokemon. The loser gets nothing.

Challenge: Challenge the next gym you haven't defeated. Each gym has a level assigned to it. Pokemon used to challenge it cannot use moves they cannot learn before that level and cannot be Pokemon they cannot evolve into before that level. This is an OOC system to ensure that gyms are skill-based and not "grind"-based. If you challenge a gym and lose, those actions are gone and cannot be used for anything else.

Each time you defeat a gym you gain access to tier of TMs listed for that badge. In addition, choose one of the following benefits: 1. Take a free Coach action for one Pokemon that participated in the gym battle, 2. Change the ability of one Pokemon on your team to its Hidden Ability, 3. Choose a valid Egg Move for one Pokemon on your team. It will unlock that Egg Move at level twenty. 4. Choose a valid Tutor Move for one Pokemon on your team. It will unlock that Tutor Move at level thirty.

Challenging a foreign gym earns you the badge, ICly, and gives you two coaching actions if you win. You do not unlock TMs from defeating foreign gyms. If you're a foreigner playing in another region, pick one region to count as your home region.

    Name: Ezreal
    Species: Zoroark
    Role: Coach

A bit of a devil-may-care sort of guy, Ezreal tends to do what he can get away with in terms of labor and not much more; he hates work, loves fun, and there isn't much more to say on the matter. He tends to spend his free time frequenting Cerian clubs, playing video games, or gambling with the money he makes coaching. He has something of an affinity for "retro" gadgets, which in Ceriah includes a good deal of "modern" tech from foreign regions.

He has three piercings on each ear, though the style and color of earrings he uses tends to vary with his mood. He's almost always wearing one of his many black jackets, if only because having a number of available pockets is a must at all times. Though he has a wrist-comp for speaking to humans, most of the time he can't be bothered and keeps it shoved in his pockets.

Ezreal started acting as the team strategist for a few of his friends mostly as a hobby and for a bit of extra cash, but after a while he started getting more serious. Despite his attitude, he's actually rather intelligent - though not necessarily when it comes to knowing the ins and outs of coordinating battles.

  • Name: Capoeirah (kah-poh-AY-rah)
    Species: Buneary
    Role: Coach

Neither Capoeirah or its derivative Eira are this Buneary's true name. That is only known to those in the small community of Buneary & Bunnelby lines she comes from. It is a long standing tradition of her community that birth names should be concealed from outsiders; all who live there are given a nickname upon coming of age to be used with any being from outside the community.

She had been trained in martial dance from a young age as per the traditions of her community. After she left, she was recruited as a team member for a Hitmonchan coach who had been brought up in a similar style. She stayed with his team for a long time despite his constant attempts to convert her to his methods. He went from gentle pointers to harsh punishment in a very short amount of time when she refused to fully use his style of martial dance in their battles. Eira stayed, though, relying on the ever smaller cuts of the rewards and the structure of the team, until the Hitmonchan outright dismissed her from the team.

She spent a while in a depression, living the most basic life the Cerian government provided. Eventually she found a mixed-race martial dance club in her current city and began practising again. Through that, she found her inspiration to bring the fun of martial dance back into tournaments and began again as a coach, determined to help her team use and develop their own styles.

She's so well thought out! Great job on her backstory and personality. She's a very compelling character and is most definitely accepted. You can choose your starter and start spending your actions whenever you're ready.

    Name: Mewana
    Species: Gothorita
    Role: Coach

If you asked those who knew her to sum Mewana up in three words, they would probably say "quiet", "rude", and "logical." These are all true. Mewana is quiet and reserved. She lives her life logically, and is quick to voice her (sometimes rude) judgements. She calls this "voicing the hard truth".

Mewana's depression is known to most that know her, but being that she has never resulted to self-harm, and refuses to talk to anyone about the matter, no one speaks of it much. Occasionally, she will refuse to leave her residence for many days at a time. Her explanation for this is that she needs space to meditate, and she asks not to be disturbed.

Now, you must wonder at this point: why would anyone ever want to train with her? The fact is that most people don't. Although she is undeniably gifted in some way, and she is quite a skillful coach, most simply cannot bear to spend that much time with her. Constant judgement and lack of praise chases them away. However, some can tolerate this, and they do. These special humans and Pokemon that have the ability to withstand Mewana's unpleasant behavior become members of her team.

As a coach, Mewana is strict, judgmental, and rarely if ever gives praise. She values maximum efficiency when training her team, and does not tolerate slacking in the least. Not to mention she is a control-freak, and she can't trust anyone else in command aside from herself.

During her free time, she meditates. She does this to keep herself as mentally stable as possible (which does not come naturally for her). She fears that if she stops meditating for a long period of time, her mind will fall apart.

Accepted! I like her personality flaws and her struggle with depression. It makes for quite an interesting character. You can pick your starter and spend your actions for this week when you're ready.

    Name: Allan
    Species: Sylveon
    Role: Citizen

Allan often comes off as abrasive in first impressions. He isn't prone to seeking companionship for its own sake and is in possession of a great deal of obvious pride, making him both unskilled in common social discourse and of the opinion that he's no reason to improve. He's blunt and sometimes snarky with those he has no reason to respect and business-like with those he does. If there's one thing he lacks in spades, it's charisma.

Of his greatest virtues, he possesses an incredible sense of loyalty and duty. This is doubly true when it comes to his family. He is acutely aware of how his actions and achievements affect his parents' standings in their social circles, continuously driven to accomplish more and yet always worried that he isn't pushing himself hard enough. His parents are both demanding and fawning in spades, encouraging him with their praise and pressuring him with the shame he feels would follow failure. It was his love for his family that triggered his evolution, a fact he takes great pride in.

Once his mind is truly set to something, Allan will put in any amount of effort to succeed until he is convinced otherwise. He is diligent and studious, willing to pour hours upon hours of time into his studies. It's easy for him to become obsessive to the point of ruin and because he often holds himself to impossible standards he's a constant victim of anxiety.

  • The first to know of Capoeirah's decision to become a coach was her closest friend and primary martial dance partner Muay, a recently evolved Monferno. Muay had always been intrigued by the world of tournaments and matches and begged Eira to take him on as a team member. Eira was hesitant at first due to Muay's youth and unpredictability, but he convinced her by claiming that he'd just find another coach to take him if she did not. Knowing him as well as she did, Eira concluded that she would probably be better fit to introduce him to professional matches than most other coaches.

Langley, a newer member to Eira's martial dance club, happened to overhear the conversations between Eira and Muay and demanded in on Eira's team. The Pawniard, while very competitive and brash, had immediately hit it off with Muay and shared a similar interest in the competitive world. She wanted to take martial dance onto official grounds and hey, who better to lead that endeavor than Eira, who had so much experience with both? Eira, nonplussed, accepted this reasoning and her new team member. So much happened in such a short amount of time- it was a little overwhelming, to have made a tentative decision about the direction of her life and then been thrust straight into it.

Actions Taken By Eira, Week of September 6th

+ Recruited Langley (Pawniard, lv 5)
+ Coached Muay; +5 lvs (Chimchar, lv 10)
+ Coached Langley; +6 lvs (Pawniard, lv 11)

When they started out, Ezreal and friends didn't really have much of a proper team going. Sure, they'd battle some other rookies for extra cash now and again, but it was mostly all for fun. Now that Ezreal had that proper competitive itch goin' though, he was wanting to test their luck against an actual gym.

Out of all of em, Ezreal had the most experience actually being in fights - which counted for jack all since he wasn't gonna be doing any fighting. The other guys mostly had experience lounging around clubs and failing to pick up chicks. Not that they were gonna hear any of that. Big bad tough guys, every one of em. Nevermind the fact that at least one of em had only ever been in a fight once in his life and he'd gotten his ass handed to him.

Clowns were feeling all nice and hot-blooded, anyway. This was gonna be a lot of work.

    Spoiler: Actions
+ Started with Deino (level 5)
    + Recruited Riolu (level 5)
    + Coached Riolu; +5 levels (level 10)
    + Coached Riolu; +5 levels (level 15)
    * Riolu has evolved into Lucario!
