For one, I don't think ANYBODY mentioned there should be 200+ fakemon or anything like that.
I'm pretty sure, everyone and myself, assumed it would be the 130 we already have+ the 25 that aqua made. Which, 155 doesn't sound too crazy to me, considering the first generation.
Much less, my main problem here is you using the geographical thing. Hmm, which am I going to find more fun, 25 new pokemon, or a "correct geographical understanding"?
I mean, I'm not saying the game won't be fun with older pokemon, or that how many you have right now isn't fine, but your reasoning of fun is a bit "off".
Hmm....allow me to further clarify. You're right, nobody mentioned anything about 200+ fakemon. Not me, not you, not anyone. So why'd you bring it up?
And yes, I thought everyone assumed that. I assumed that, and you assumed that, but there were a few posts that said stuff like "only a few fakes, starters, legendaries" and i wanted to clarify that we still had roughly the same amount as the 3rd generation.
And considering the first generation was 151 is a bit odd...considering pokemon like geodude and zubat and magikarp appeared in every "japanese" pokemon region. If you discount all the ones that have appeared in all four regions, then Kanto's down to about 130ish as well.
Also, this game is more than just "fun". You'll find the game fun whether we have 131 pokemon or 156 pokemon; lets be perfectly honest here. However, the game has more of a realist feel to it than other pokemon games, and that's one of our selling points that I'm not just about to sell short.
Johto's pokedex consisted of over 250 pokemon. HUGE! They used EVERY SINGLE old pokemon because geographically they were right next to eachother. Emort's just as close, but i've decided not to bring another 251 pokemon into our dex, that wouldnt be fair to our fakemon. So I planned it so that we'd have 131 fakemon and 70 real pokemon to end the dex at 201, a nice round number.
Then i hear of 25 new fakes that Aquakip thought up out of the blue, and I decided against that, something i have the right to do as the leader of the project. He doesnt like that I said no, so he posted here, and now it seems like we're arguing.
Look.
Whether or not we use 25 more fakemon is an argument for another day. We're still working our tails off to bring you guys a demo by January 1st. So, I'd really like it if we could all just calm down for the next two weeks until we get out the demo. At that point we can fully discuss whether or not we want to add in 25 more species to an already large dex.
I thank you all for your time.
