— Guidelines
• Winter OU
• Single-elimination
• Best of one (complete one battle to win the match-up)
• Participants will be rounded off at the highest multiple of 4. Sign-ups that don't get in will be treated as substitutes.
• Each round will last 7 days
• Complete your battles on our battle server using the Winter OU format. Preferably post this replay in the thread, or do so after the event has ended if you're worried about counterteaming.
• Poor sportsmanship can you get disqualified. These tournaments are for fun, and luck is a part of the game.
• Use the Clan Directory thread for identifying Pokemon Showdown usernames and time zones.
— Differences from ORAS OU
The format hasn't been created yet, so some details are subject to change for last minute balancing. Feel free to use the following list for team ideas while the format is being prepared. I will post a more detailed list of changes soon and give everyone some time to create their teams.
• Snow Warning and Hail summons hail for 10 turns. Icy Rock increases it to 14.
• Ice-types have +1 Def in hail
• Avalanche is an Ice-type equivalent of Double-Edge
• Snow Warning Regice w/ buffed SDef
• Abomasnow w/ buffed defenses
• Mega Abomasnow w/ buffed Spe
• Walrein w/ buffed defenses
• Filter Avalugg
• Refrigerate Kyurem w/ nerfed Spe
• Arctic Rush Beartic w/ buffed stats (+2 Spe in hail)
• Adaptability Froslass
• Huge Power Delibird w/ buffed stats
• Mountaineer Articuno (immune to Rock-type moves upon switch-in)
• Hail Force Glaceon (increases power of Ice-type moves by 30% in hail)
• Rock Head Dewgong w/ Drill Run and buffed Atk & Spe
• Gooey Vanilluxe w/ buffed defenses
• Multiscale Lapras w/ buffed Atk and Recover
• Magic Guard Cryogonal w/ Calm Mind and buffed Def
• Cloyster w/ slightly buffed offenses
• Jynx w/ buffed stats
• Mamoswine w/ buffed SDef
• Aurorus w/ buffed defenses
• Castform w/ buffed stats (roughly 70 HP / 70 Atk / 80 Def / 120 SAtk / 120 SDef / 70 Spe)
