Grenfell Tower fire

As you may already know there was a fire in West London that has killed 58 (as of this post). Many questions are now being asked about the concerns many residents had about the cadding (which is believed to have aided the fire and bypass the contained blocks to cause the catastrophe), and why it was repeatedly ignored. Anger is rising as to how such a tragedy could happen in a country with the strictest fire laws
One of the richest boroughs in London, in one of the richest cities in the world, and yet the poorest live in such conditions that their concerns were repeatedly ignored, has reopened concerns over living standards in our country, and in the year of Brexit this scandal looks set to overtake that as this years main political story.

There is also anger at May for not visiting victims unlike many others high profile leaders (Queen, Prince William and political leaders), and considering the aftermath of the election May's future looks bleak.

With grief turning into anger, and a public inquiry being announced, the Grenfell tragedy looks like it will be an important political story for the foreseeable future.

This is the result of seven years of Tory greed and austerity. The death toll will be over 150. Likely 200.

May's lucky she hasn't faced mass riots by this point. Corbyn down at relief centers helping out whilst May makes a passing visit with the station chiefs who done nothing during the fire so they can have a quick photo op. Sums up the past decade perfectly. The rich are for the rich, the rest of us can burn.

There is no way the death toll can go to 200... This has nothing do to with cuts, the police and firefighters did their job, if anything it was the failure of councillors and housing ministers who didn't change the laws on cadding after that fire in 2006.

Did you even read your own article?

emergency services have said the number is likely to get a lot higher.

I mean I could go on but there's seven years worth of Tory awfulness to sieve through and this little lot should be sufficient to debunk your disingenuous attempt to turn this into Labour's problem by bringing up 2006 as if there's been no further attempts to tackle these problems over the past decade.

This is absolutely the result of greed and austerity under the tories. I didn't even mention cuts, I mentioned greed and austerity measures like the social cleansing of London to sell it off to the rich. The same reason that illegal cladding was used, the same reason those people were burned alive for the sake of saving £5000 on a vanity project to make the building look nicer externally for the rich.

If you want to get into this, that's fine, all I ask is you do not do your usual skit of deleting everything when someone proves you wrong and then immediately try to claim no proof was provided after your censoring crusade.

I'm pretty heartened to see all the people who came out to help. A similarly deadly fire caused by neglect of the building owners in my area last year didn't have nearly the same level of a response from everyday people. Londoners seem to be a good lot.

The tower survivors are going to get to stay in the area at least: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...be-given-68-flats-in-luxury-apartment-complex

Thankfully the pressure and demands of Mr Corbyn seem to have pushed the local govt's hand

My mistake only read the first bit.
Oh so you now accusing me of accusing Labour, I meant 2009 typo
https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/mar/28/lakanal-house-fire-deaths-prevented
Ahh I think you shouldn't assume when I didn't mention Labour, in fact the report was in 2013,and I was talking about all the housing ministers who ignored warnings on cadding. Where did I mention Labour? No it was just another attempt to score your petty little petty political points as if you even read the op before your outburst I agreed with the fact that the local council was wrong to ignore concern and use cadding to make it look nicer than over the safety of residents so I agree with you there.

Oh you didn't prove me wrong you just kept stalking my profile page, and you lied that you gave his manifesto, I didn't want your messages on my profile page as someone who calls people alt right for disagreeing I don't want on my profile page.

Labour were in govt in 2006. It's not my fault if you confuse 2006 with 2009 and 2013 in the same statement is it? Labour were in Govt all the way until 2010. We're in 2017, there's been fires since then and there's been numerous efforts by Labour to address this since then that the Tories shot down because profit is more important than people to them.

Don't post articles you haven't read, you make a joke out of everyone involved when you do that.

Whilst I do not intend to become bogged down over this,I proved you wrong at every turn, I presented you with a costed manifesto after you told me Corbyn had no policies and then that he couldnt fund said policies he apparently didn't have, which you proceeded to delete then claim I'd never presented you with a manifesto lol. I posted it again and you deleted it again. If you didn't want me replying to your VMs you shouldnt of being VMing me politics in the first place.

Didn't I say it was a typo, not confusion, the fire was in 2009, report in 2013.
I said it was a mistake bcz I'm on a phone and I skimmed ut.
You provided me with no manifesto I told you to tell me his policies and you carried on a rant about the tories no manifesto. I said nothing about funding another lie, besides I don't support the tories anymore.
Who VM ed me first? You who then kept on posting on ny profile page after I stopped talking? You. If you want to talk about this more Pm me I promise not to delete it.

You VMd me saying you didnt appreciate how i talked to you lol. Not that I can show anyone because you went on a Stalinist purge session when you realised you knew nothing about Corbyn despite claiming he was the worst thing that could ever happen to the UK. Well, clearly as the past few weeks have shown that is far from the case. If you want to discuss that particular situation further then ironically we should take it to VMs.

Maybe now you understand why I so ardently support Corbyn, after seeing the results of Austerity Britain, after seeing that charred tomb in the sky. People like me have been angry for a long time because Grenfell wasn't an if, it was a when. And for years we've been trying to tackle the corruption of tory Britain and for years we've been called "loonie lefties" for demanding better housing standards for the poor. And now this has happened, now upwards of 100-150 people have been burnt alive in horrific conditions because their safety wasnt worth £5000 odd quid.
