2nd Gen Withheld's poke theories: What happened to Lorelei and Agatha?

Those two were too powerful to have plausibly lost their
elite four status to those guys that replaced them at
Gen2. Of course, i recently posted a theory about a
pokemon disease striking Kanto during the years
between Gen1-Gen2, so they might have lost their old
teams like Lance and Blue. But there is also another
possibility: They might have decided to leave the Elite
Four themselves. Think of it...
-Lorelei seemed a sophisticated woman. Like Gary in
the anime after Johto League, maybe she decided to
give up pokemon fights and become a researcher.
-As for Agatha, well, she was pretty old already at Gen1,
so there's a strong probability that, by Gen2, she's dead
of natural causes.

Sexism. Same reason the show kept swapping out the girls, but kept Brock around through DP.


I like Mateo's take on what happened to Lorelei -- She had to go off to another region for important business during GSC, and Will was temporarily filling in her place (as you find out in the Pokémon Christmas hack).

As for Agatha, I think she simply retired and had her granddaughter Karen replace her. :P

"Her whereabouts in Generation II and Generation IV are unknown, as she is no longer a member of the Elite Four, and no mention of her is made, though dialogue present in FireRed and LeafGreen indicates that she may have given up her position among the Elite Four to protect her friends and family in the Sevii Islands.

As far as I know, she put her family over her grand title.

Agatha was discharged from the E4 because for a self proclaimed Ghost type specialist she has two Gengars, a Haunter, a Golbat and an Arbok, which does not constitute a full Ghost type specialist team and is an offender of repeated usage of same pokemon species. Thus the bureaucracy that runs the Pokemon League had to let her go for trainer incompetence.

They would have gotten rid of Lance too but they really needed someone to fill in for Red after he ditched his duties as champion

I don't think the elite four were strictly pokemon type specialists; that would make
them no different from gym leaders. I think they were more like strategy specialists.

If I remember correctly Lorelie was in one of the Sevii islands in FR/LG leaving me to believe she had more important tasks than be an Elite Four member and Will replaced her.
Agatha.. She probably passed away, or retired. Passing away isn't out of the equation, she had to be pushing 80. Or she was a person that practiced magic and she was just an illusion. that would be a mind fuck
