  • This is my first attempt at an NU team, I'd like to mention that this team was beaten by a rain dance team.

    Typhlosion @ Heat Rock
    Blaze
    252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    Timid
    - Sunny Day
    - Fire Blast
    - Hidden Power Rock
    - Solar Beam

    Jumpluff @ Heat Rock
    Chlorophyll
    Jolly
    252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    - Sleep Powder
    - Encore
    - Sunny Day
    - U-Turn

    Shiftry @ Life Orb
    Chlorophyll
    Modest
    252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    - Sunny Day
    - Dark Pulse
    - Hidden Power Fire
    - Solar Beam

Rapidash @ Wide Lens (Just look at its moveset!)
    Flash Fire
    Modest
    4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Hypnosis
    - Fire Blast
    - Megahorn
    - Solar Beam

    Primape @ Choice Scarf
    Vital Spirit
    Adamant
    36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe
    - Close Combat
    - Punishment
    - Ice Punch
    - U-Turn

    Armaldo @ Leftovers
    Battle Armor
    Impish
    248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
    - Stealth Rock
    - Rapid Spin
    - Rock Blast
    - Toxic

    Typhlosion @ Heat Rock
    Blaze
    252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    Timid
    - Sunny Day
    - Fire Blast
    - Hidden Power Rock
    - Solar Beam
I wouldn't recomend this as a lead, more like a late game sweeper

    Jumpluff @ Heat Rock
    Chlorophyll
    Jolly
    252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    - Sleep Powder
    - Encore
    - Sunny Day
    - U-Turn
Encore +Sleep Powder Lead =o Good support here

    Shiftry @ Life Orb
    Chlorophyll
    Modest
    252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    - Sunny Day
    - Dark Pulse
    - Hidden Power Fire
    - Solar Beam
    Safe

Rapidash @ Wide Lens (Just look at its moveset!)
    Flash Fire
    Modest
    4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Hypnosis
    - Fire Blast
    - Megahorn
    - Solar Beam
Pretty Cool... If Jumfluff was first, you could U turn out when needed and try to get a FlashFire and allow a sweep after Sunny Day

    Primape @ Choice Scarf
    Vital Spirit
    Adamant
    36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe
    - Close Combat
    - Punishment
    - Ice Punch
    - U-Turn
Benefits from Sunny Day? Is this a revenge killer role? It's already high Speed stat outspeeds most of the tier already

    Armaldo @ Leftovers
    Battle Armor
    Impish
    248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
    - Stealth Rock
    - Rapid Spin - Is any member on your team vulnerable to SR?
    - Rock Blast
    - Toxic
Benifits from Sunny Day? (Halves Water attacks) So the main goal for this is for set up SR and Spin, then try to get in another move?

Another things to consider is a Sunny Day Entie

    Entie @ Life Orb
    Pressure
    4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Fire Blast
    - Sunny Day
    - Solarbeam
    - --- - Smogon suggest Calm mind but to help you problem with Rain teams (With experience I know you have xD) Try Roar and predict the switches as Rain Teams are quite predicatable)

    Threats I see...
    NU Sunny RMT
Cradily: Besides Primapes Ice Punch, what else can you do against this thing? Even deadlier with Sandstorm Support... It will Curse stack xD

    NU Sunny RMT
Dusclops: - Curseclops could disable a member of you team which you couldn't function without. I think you should add a little more offensive individually.

    NU Sunny RMT
Tauros: Outspeed everything and Primape won't be able to hurt it much. It will OHKO Primape with a EQ

    NU Sunny RMT
Porygon2: Don't see a counter to a recover besides Hypnosis and Toxic

    NU Sunny RMT
Persian: Very common lead, will Fakeout your Lead

    NU Sunny RMT
Ninetails: (as an example) Could take advantage of SunnyDay and spam fire, outspeeding most of your team. You only have FlashFire Rapidash as Counter

    Want to NU battle? ;)

uskelly, Armaldo is his lead, not Typhlosion. He put his lead last for some reason. Also 4 Pokemon you listed aren't threats:

    NU Sunny RMT
Dusclops: - Curseclops could disable a member of you team which you couldn't function without. I think you should add a little more offensive individually.
    Who uses Curse on Dusclops?!?

    NU Sunny RMT
Tauros: Outspeed everything and Primape won't be able to hurt it much. It will OHKO Primape with a EQ
How does Close Combat not hurt Tauros?

    NU Sunny RMT
Porygon2: Don't see a counter to a recover besides Hypnosis and Toxic
I doubt Porygon2 likes STAB Fire Blast or Solarbeam.

    NU Sunny RMT
Persian: Very common lead, will Fakeout your Lead
Armaldo doesn't care about Fake Out

    Anyways, onto the rate:

Use Exeggutor over Shiftry. Not only is Exeggutor a far more powerful Special sweeper, it's also bulkier so it can set up Sunny Day more easily. Plus, it gets Sleep Powder.

    Exeggutor @Life Orb
    Chlorophyll
    Modest Nature
    4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spd

    -Solarbeam
    -Hidden Power Fire
    -Sleep Powder
    -Sunny Day

Rapidash needs a Mild Nature or else you'll lower the power of Megahorn.

Special Wall Flareon gives you huge problems. Typhlosion's HP Rock only does 36% max, not even a 3HKO with Leftovers, plus it has Wish.

    Use Magmortar over Typhlosion.

    Magmortar @Life Orb
    4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Mild Nature

    -Fire Blast
    -Solarbeam
    -Earthquake
    -Sunny Day/Thunderbolt

Sure it may not be as fast as Typhlosion, but it's far more powerful. Magmortar will do 81.4% - 96.4% to Flareon with Earthquake, an OHKO with Stealth Rock down.

Another option is Shiny Movie Entei:

    Entei @Life Orb
    Adamant Nature
    4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

    -Flare Blitz
    -Extremespeed
    -Stone Edge
    -Sunny Day

  • Yeah, Jumpluff was my lead, I would switch to Armaldo when faced against a Persian, and otherwise hope for a fire-type attack to switch to Rapidash.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like I don't need three sleep-inducing pokemon while the Sleep Clause is in place.

    Jumpluff @ Heat Rock
    Chlorophyll
    Jolly

    252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    - Sleep Powder
    - Encore
    - Sunny Day
    - U-Turn

    Magmortar @ Life Orb
    Flame Body
    4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid

    - Thunderbolt
    - Fire Blast
    - Earthquake
    - Solar Beam

    Exeggutor @ Life Orb
    Chlorophyll
    Modest Nature
    4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spd

    -Solarbeam
    -Hidden Power Fire
    -Sleep Powder
    -Sunny Day

Rapidash @ Wide Lens (Just look at its moveset!)
    Flash Fire
    Mild

    4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    - Hypnosis
    - Fire Blast
    - Megahorn
    - Solar Beam

    Primape @ Focus Sash
    Vital Spirit
    Adamant

    4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    - Close Combat
    - Punishment
    - Ice Punch
    - U-Turn

    Armaldo @ Leftovers
    Battle Armor
    Impish

    248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
    - Stealth Rock
    - Rapid Spin
    - Rock Blast
    - Toxic

  • Drop Primeape imo. Its completely useless to your team, if anything give it a Choice Scarf and not a Focus Sash, since any non-lead pokemon with a Focus Sash is a bad idea. I would also drop Typhlosion. Honestly this team is pretty bad but here goes.

Put Jumpluff in the lead Position. Keep the same set though.

Drop Typhlosion all together, replace with Victreebel running:

    Victreebel @ Life Orb
    120 HP / 252 SpA / 136Spe
    Timid Nature
    -Sunny Day
    -Solar Beam
    -Hidden Power [Ice]
    -Weather Ball

136 Spe will outspeed every pokemon in the NU tier that isn't scarfed. 252 SpAtk hits hard and 120 HP is filler and hits v. hard.

    Keep Eggy and keep Rapidash.

    Drop: Primeape, Armaldo.

Replaced Primeape with something that either Benefits from the sun or can help your team in some other way. Quagsire would do well because it can take on any Water-type pokemon with relative ease. Armaldo I would just go ahead and replace with Gligar since it has better typing and still gets rocks up.

    edit: oh yeah sets,

    Quagsire @ Leftovers
    Impish Nature
    252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
    Ability: Water Absorb
    -Waterfall
    -Ice Punch
    -Encore
    -Recover

    Gligar @ Leftovers
    Impish Nature
    252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
    -Earthquake
    -Stealth Rock
    -U-Turn
    -Taunt / Roost

You could also use NP Ninetales instead of Rapidash if you wanted to with Nasty Plot / Solarbeam / Fire Blast / Dark Pulse. It will hit harder but you lose out on a physical option.

Use Earthquake over Waterfall on Quagsire. Waterfall would obviously be weakened by the Sun.

I'm worried that by the time Quagsire is needed, the sun may no longer be up.

In a weather team, your weather should ALWAYS be up no matter what.
Besides, Earthquake is stronger than Waterfall anyways.
