On XSE, after you compile your script, a window will pop-up, showing your varios addresses and their assigned offsets. Did you copy the very first offset in that window, pasted it on the trainer NPC in Advance Map, and saved the map?

also... are you editing an existing script or are you writing a new script?

Sorry for re-opening an old thread, but I have similar problem.

I think that I don't have to say that my scripting skills are terrible, but after a long time, I finally managed to change a script in Fire Red, where you get Eevee, into getting a different pokemon (Hooray!). But then I tried to use the same way to change wild encounter with Marowak's ghost in Pokemon Tower and it just doesn't work.
When I open the script, it is changed, but for any reason I still encounter Marowak ingame instead of a new pokemon.

So, I want to ask, is it a difference between changing the script to give pokemon and to start wild encounter? If so, then can you tell me what am I doing wrong?

I would be happy for any helpful comment.

Have you tried going to "header, then map script?" you may find somthing there.

First one, Marowak ghost encounter is control from other offset, so you need to change something.
https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=382404 this has info about that.

Second, Yes, give pokemon and wild encounter has different script.
You can see wild encounter from Snorlax script

    Hope this help a little
