Finally finished Crystal today, so its update time!
Spoiler:

None of the Kanto gyms were really hard. I think I struggled a bit with Lt. Surge, but I can't remember now. I would summarize the Kanto segment as trying to level up Heracross to level 54 (Megahorn) while keeping the rest of my team from falling too far behind. I mostly just wandered around Kanto beating trainers for a while and beat Surge, Sabrina, Brock, and Misty (in that order).

Ok. Story Time!
So the reason I didn't challenge Erika for a while was because I wanted to destroy her with Megahorn (which I am too lazy to grind for) so I went on to Fuchsia (I literally just learned that it's Fuchsia and not Fuchisca. Not sure how I missed that.) City and did not go for the gym because I wanted to listen to the music during the battle and at this point I was playing at school. Anyways I also wanted Magneton to learn Thunderbolt, which it only gets by move tutor on Wednesday and Saturday. I'm also playing on an emulator which somehow messed with the in-game date and time, so I just left my game running for two days for the event and today I went over, and accidentally replaced Tri-attack. Oh well. One soft reset later its Thursday again, for some Emulator based reason I can't explain, so I decided not to wait another two days. 3 easy gyms and 1 harder one (Blue) later, I had all 16 gym badges.

Finally it was time for the fight with Red.
Spoiler:

I had three rare candies, so my team going in was Magneton Level 52, Lapras Level 52, and Heracross Level 54. (It got two of my rare candies.) Three soft resets later, I had my winning run, and I recorded it too! Red's lead was Pikachu, and I sent out Heracross. Pikachu was faster and used charm. Heracross's Earthquake wasn't enough to pick up the KO, but Red used his full restore (YES!). Another few Earthquakes and Pikachu went down. Red sent out Venusaur and charged up a Solarbeam. Heracross's Megahorn didn't do much after Charm. Solarbeam did a bit less than half, and my two Megahorns did the same. We both switched out. I sent out Magneton and Red used Espeon. Espeon used Psychic and Magneton hung on. I got off a Thunder Wave and then a Tri Attack. Then Magneton fainted. I used Heracross next. Megahorn was enough to finish it. Venusaur came back out and used Sunny Day. Heracross used Megahorn. And Missed! >:( Solarbeam put me low on HP and Megahorn missed again. >:( I used my first Full Restore, then revived Magneton, then healed Heracross, then healed Magneton, then healed Heracross again, all while being hit with Solarbeam. And Red put Sunny Day back up too. Heracross finally decided to get a hit off, and it got a crit! Now came Charizard. I let Heracross faint for the free switch, and it ended the sun. Lapras came in and got hit by Fire Spin. We used Surf and Charizard went halfway down. Flamethrower did the same, except I was a lot weaker after fire spin, But another Surf Worked and Charizard went down. Now Snorlax was up. This was actually as far as I had made it so far. Surf didn't do much. It used Body Slam and Lapras went down. Magneton used Tri Attack, but it didn't do much either. Snorlax also decided to use Amnesia. I also decided to revive Heracross. Magneton was able to do about 1/3 and get a burn off before fainting. Heracross still couldn't finish Snorlax with reversal, but it could survive Body Slam because of the burn. Now Reversal finally was able to finish Snorlax. Now Red was down to his final Pokemon. Blastoise. I revived Lapras and Heracross got a free switch after it fainted. Lapras hung on from Surf and used Perish Song. I revived Heracross. Perish Count fell to two. Lapras still hung on. I revived Magneton. Lapras fainted. Perish Count fell to one. I sent out Magneton. I revived Lapras. Magneton fainted. Perish Count fell to zero. I won. The battle took about fifteen minutes.

Final Team
Spoiler:

Heracross
Level 55
Take Down, Earthquake, Megahorn, Reversal

Lapras
Level 52
Surf, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Perish Song
Mystic Water

Magneton
Level 52
Tri Attack, Thundershock, Thunder Wave, Sonicboom

Play Time 18:14

Ultimates require all 6 regions, and you're missing two (Unova and Kalos), so I'll have to mark is as four singles when I update again.

------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of that, I'll try to update my challenges later today, if not, definitely tomorrow.

Okay so a couple of updates all around here.

I started playing both Heart Gold and Ruby, I'll post them in the spoiler tags below

Johto (2/16):
Spoiler:

Started the game off as per usual, named myself Carmen cause I thought the name was cool.

Got my three mons, got through all of Violet and Azalea, up to Goldenrod grinding for the battle against Whitney in Goldenrod.

Current Team:
Spoiler:

Quiznos the ♀ Drowzee | Lv. 19 | Jolly | @None
Moves:
Headbutt
Confusion
Poison Gas
Hypnosis

Comments: Okay, so now I have another movepool to complain about, because I feel like Drowzee got neglected somewhere along the line. Anyway, Quiznos has been stellar.

Blanche the ♀ Remoraid | Lv. 19 | Relaxed | @None
Moves:
Water Gun
BubbleBeam
Psybeam
Aurora Beam

Comments: Same old Remoraid Line, same old expectations for Blanche.

Bashful the ♂ Lileep| Lv. 18 | Docile | @None

Moves:
Astonish
Ingrain
Acid
Rock Tomb

Comments: Okay, so there's a little bit of hope for Bashful this time around, because Gen 4 was a little nicer to the Lileep family.

Hoenn (8/8):
Spoiler:

In Ruby I'm at the Elite Four, right now just battling through to get money to get enough Revives to last me through until the battle against Steven.

Current Team:
Spoiler:

Pickles the ♀ Hypno | Lv. 52 | Rash | @Lax Incense
Moves:
Psychic
Toxic
Brick Break
Calm Mind

Comments: So Pickles has put in quite a lot of work for me, HOWEVER I have to say that her learnset has been so difficult because she's not a Hoenn native and it made her movepool so much worse - I didn't get Psychic until Level 49! But she's doing well, as usual.

Zendaya the ♀ Octillery | Lv. 53 | Docile | @Sea Incense
Moves:
Surf
Dive
Aurora Beam
Psybeam

Comments: Can I put her song on replay? She's putting in just as much work as in the Kanto leg. Loving 'daya so much, she one-or-two-hit-KOs almost everything, and it's great.

Quackjob the ♂ Cradily | Lv. 53 | Lonely | @None

Moves:
AncientPower
Earthquake
Giga Drain
Acid

Comments: I'm still upset that Quackjob got the shaft with this awful movepool. Only good STAB moves have 5 PP each, and doesn't learn any grass STAB by level up. I was forced to deal with BULLET SEED until Mossdeep. Regardless, Quackjob I feel has performed better than I expected, especially in the later half of the game.

Doing another update. I've done some work on Platinum and Fire Red.

Platinum
Spoiler:

I hacked in Lapras as my starter and destroyed the first gym. I stayed in Floaroma Town to try to get Heracross but eventually hacked in a wild one. Gardenia caused a little trouble but wasn't too bad. I picked up an Exp Share and we have been doing great. Fantina took two tries but we did it, and I won a contest with Lapras. The Veilstone Gym was easy thanks to Heracross's resistance to fighting and access to Aerial Ace. After the battle we beat some Galactic Grunts and stole HM02. That's about it so far.

Current Team
Spoiler:

Lapras, Level 32, Shell Armor, No Item
Body Slam, Perish Song, Water Pulse, Ice Beam

Heracross, Level 33, Swarm, No Item
Take Down, Rock Tomb, Brick Break, Aerial Ace
Finally, Heracross gets a more diverse move pool.

Fire Red
Spoiler:
This time I hacked in Heracross as my starter. Brock was probably the hardest trainer we fought with only damaging normal type moves, but enough leers and we managed to win. After that we just destroyed everything. Magnemite and Lapras are both more late game pokemon so I only have Heracross right now, although I might have accidently used a Rattata in a few double battles, although it didn't do anything. This has accually been kind of funny because of how over leveled Heracross is now. I have four badges and I am not looking forward to Pokemon Tower with only Rock Tomb to hit ghost types.

Current Team
Spoiler:

Heracross, Level 45, Swarm, No Item
Brick Break, Take Down, Horn Attack, Rock Tomb.

Final Update: Completion!!!

I apologize for the long wait, real life came up and had to pause my playthrough for a bit.

Spoiler:
Opelucid Gym was amazing! I was walking on these very precarious pathways and switches moved them each and every way. Finally I made it to the top to face and Drayden and what do I see the pathways are once on top? They are dragons!!!! So cool!

Anyways, Drayden was really quite tough. Had to ride Brix hard in this since he was a bit more underlevelled than the others and had the best spread to defeat the powerful dragons. After a bit, we emerged victorious and headed towards Victory Road.

Victory Road was really quite strange as it wasn't a road but a mountain! Unfortunately it wasn't a straight shot either and I had to go up and down...up and down...up...and...down

After what felt like a century, I finally reached the top to face the Elite 4. To be honest, the Elite 4 was insanely easy. They had no answer for Autumn and Summer, a powerful 1-2 punch.

Finally, it was time to face the champion, Alder. AS I headed towards his thrown, I was thrown for a loop as a castle appeared out of nowhere to envelope the League! After the dust settled, who should I find there but N. Why can't he understand that Pokemon are meant to be with Trainers and just be done with this whole liberation of Pokemon phase he has going on.

Anyways, he invites me into his castle and I'm a bit reluctant at first but I follow in. There I am confronted by the Seven Sages. Seems the only way they thought they could beat was a 7v1 battle. Too bad for them, I've got the best friends in the world, as they ran out and convinced every Gym Leader in the region to come to the aid of the League, myself and the Pokemon of Unova. Well almost every Gym Leader...darn Striaton triplets....But I digress

I continue through the castle, looking through all the rooms and learning little by little about N's childhood. Finally I reach the throne room, the final battlefield. N is on the other side waiting for me. He heads towards me, giving another of his long, boring speeches *yawn...CRASH* What the.....??!?!?!?! All of a sudden a wall explodes where N just was. Coughing and brushing the dust away, I can see two red eyes. Great, it seems Zekrom has decided to make an appearance after all. In that moment, my Light Stone begins glowing. It seems Reshiram has finally begun to awaken. After a blinding light appears and fades, a majestic, beautiful white Pokemon stands before me. It seems to be waiting for me to do something. I sense it wants me to battle and catch it. Not really wanting to go through that whole ordeal, I pull out my Master Ball and toss it at Reshiram, catching it instantly.

Now the real show starts. N challenges me to a battle. Off the bat, I send out Brix. I'm feling pretty good about my choice until I see who his first Pokemon is...freaking Zekrom. Seems he's putting it all out in front if him right off the bat. After a long tussle and several revives, Brix finally took down the legendary Pokemon. After that, the rest of N's team was really quite easy and very unmemorable. Seems N is a one-trick pony.

After the battle, N seems to finally understand to a degree but Ghetsis intervenes out of nowhere and goes on a rant of his own about his true intentions, which lets be honest, we were not shocked about. I mean it was pretty obvious what his plan was, not disguised well at all, you can't use pokemon to liberate pokemon, it makes no sense. *steps down off of soapbox*

So Ghetsis in a fit of anger challenges me to a battle as well! I didn't even have time to heal!
Nervous, I send out my first Pokemon, Brix and fear the worst. To my surprise though, he was completely healed! Did Nurse Joy somehow sneak in and heal my Pokemon amidst the chaos? the world may never know.

After dispatching his Cohagrigus, Ghetsis sent out his ace, Hydreigon. Man was this thing a terror. Finally after a Hi Jump Kick from Autumn, I was able to defeat the three headed fiend and cruise to victory over Ghetsis who was then taken into custody. It was just N and myself now. N still seemed to be struggling with everything but finally seemed to understand. I guess I have that effect on people. After a short talk, he flew off on Zekrom. I never saw N again. I hope he found what he was looking for.

Final Team:

Summer (Leavanny)
Lvl 54
- Leaf Blade
- X-Scissor
- Shadow Claw
- Leaf Storm

Autumn (Scrafty) *The Real MVP
Lvl 56
- Brick Break
- Rock Climb
- Crunch
- Hi Jump Kick

Brix (Stoutland)
- Take Down
- Retaliate
- Rock Tomb
- Crunch

Well, my progress has increased by a lot -

Both SoulSilver and Ruby are now complete, and I'm one badge into Diamond already.

Johto Final Team:
Spoiler:

Quiznos the ♀ Hypno | Lv. 76 | Jolly | @None
Moves:
Nasty Plot
Zen Headbutt
Psychic
Drain Punch

Comments: Quiznos, like his brothers and sisters prior, has been very middle of the road, and I'm not upset by that at all.

Blanche the ♀ Octillery | Lv. 74 | Relaxed | @Mystic Water
Moves:
Surf
Charge Beam
Ice Beam
Signal Beam

Comments: Queen of beam, Blanche did really well, but not as well as her sisters in the past.

Bashful the ♂ Cradily | Lv. 75 | Docile | @Miracle Seed

Moves:
Earthquake
Energy Ball
Acid
Rock Slide

Comments: Hey, fourth gen was good to you! I think Bashful is probably most improved this time around, because he did really well.

Hoenn Final Team:
Spoiler:

Pickles the ♀ Hypno | Lv. 58 | Rash | @Lax Incense
Moves:
Psychic
Toxic
Brick Break
Calm Mind

Comments: She was good against a couple of the problem pokemon that 'daya couldn't kill. Otherwise, very average.

Zendaya the ♀ Octillery | Lv. 60 | Docile | @Sea Incense
Moves:
Surf
Dive
Ice Beam
Psybeam

Comments: MVP no contest. She wrecked EVERYTHING. (Literally OHKO'd all of Drake's pokemon with Ice Beam.)

Quackjob the ♂ Cradily | Lv. 57 | Lonely | @None

Moves:
AncientPower
Earthquake
Giga Drain
Acid

Comments: Quackjob was of very limited use in the Elite Four, except against Steven's freaking Metagross. That thing would never have fainted if it weren't for a few good EQs.

Sinnoh (1/8):
Spoiler:

Working on beating Mars at Valley Windworks!

While these are not available before the first Gym Natu is very close to the beginning, although I think I'll just hack it in the wild in Route 1(and maybe giving silver the amaizng chikorita this time and gracing and blessing his presence). I'm also gunna write this down in the story challenge too, do thatll be fun.

Just finished my playthrough of Diamond. Only two more regions left (three once I get my hands on another copy of a Gen VII game)

Final Sinnoh Team (8/8):
Spoiler:

Tatianna the ♀ Hypno | Lv. 56 | Modest |
Moves:
Psychic
Toxic
Brick Break
Shadow Ball

Comments: This time around, I was deeply unimpressed with Tatianna. She underperformed and that's why she's so underleveled.

Atilla the ♂ Octillery | Lv. 60 | Gentle |
Moves:
Surf
Signal Beam
Ice Beam
Psybeam

Comments: Honestly, after seing Octillery's past, I thought Atilla would've done so much better, but he was so average that I was very disappointed.

Java the ♂ Cradily | Lv. 63 | Brave | @None

Moves:
Sludge Bomb
Energy Ball
Earthquake
Rock Slide

Comments: HOLY CRAP THIS TIME JAVA PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS. WHAT A WINNER. BAMF. MVP.

I hate to double post, but Unova is all done as well.

Final Unova Team(8/8):
Spoiler:

Antony the ♂ Hypno | Lv. 54 | Hardy | @None
Moves:
Psychic
Toxic
Calm Mind
Shadow Ball

Comments: Well, I'm not upset but I'm also not overly ecstatic about Antony's performance. He did what was expected of him, however the late addition of Calm Mind on his set was definitely worth it, because +2 or +3 could wipe out every late game pokemon not named Hydreigon.

Mercutio the ♂ Octillery | Lv. 55 | Gentle | @None
Moves:
Surf
Signal Beam
Ice Beam
Psybeam

Comments: I feel like I always end up with the same movesets on my Pokemon, and the predictability is almost kinda sad, but at least I know what I'm dealing with. Mercutio was very meh.

Oberon the ♂ Cradily | Lv. 57 | Timid | @None

Moves:
Sludge Bomb
Energy Ball
Earthquake
Rock Tomb

Comments: Oberon outperformed its brethren sans Sinnoh, and I was impressed once I got into the late game because Energy Ball and Earthquake are both so nice.

On to Kalos, then Alola once I get Pokemon bank stuff worked out!

Updated the main post.

I also added a new rule regarding Mega Stones and Z-Crystals to all of my challenges. I think they're a bit too overpowered, so I have decided to ban them from the challenges.
Anybody that has used them in a current challenge is fine, just don't use them any more in your game.

Sorry for doubleposting!

Update:
Currently at Frost Cavern in Kalos after a lengthy grind over the past two days. The most complicated part of this whole endeavor was getting Eggs, to be completely honest.

Current Kalos Team (6/8):
Spoiler:

Ventiloquist the ♂ Hypno | Lv. 45 @ Rocky Helmet

Moves:
Toxic
Zen Headbutt
Hypnosis
Swagger

Comments: Relatively average, nothing stellar to report. But I must say, the Rocky Helmet is such a great item!

Trentacles the ♂ Octillery | Lv. 46 @ Sitrus Berry

Moves:
Signal Beam
Psybeam
Ice Beam
Surf

Comments: As usual, kind of carries the team - better type coverage and just the one that I send out when I don't have anything better.

Tallily the ♂ Cradily | Lv. 46 @ Poison Barb

Moves:
Grass Knot
Confuse Ray
Acid
Rock Tomb

Comments: It seems like its one step forward, two steps back with the abysmal movepool that Lileep and Cradily get. Like seriously, I don't think it learns a single STAB move by level-up. Still like em though, a great wall.
