ROUND 2 OF THE TOURNEY HAS BEGUN~

*Only read this part if you need to check up on the rules. I've made another post regarding pairings and standings

I've been given the liberty to organize it. Here are the people who have signed up and have a spot in the tournament:

The format this tournament's running on will be using the Modified deck rule swiss rounds with a top cut, just like an official Pokemon tournament. It will be three rounds with a 2-player top cut

Modified Format:
Only cards from the sets Diamond & Pearl, Mysterious Treasures, Secret Wonders, Great Encounters, Majestic Dawn, Legends Awakened, Stormfront, Platinum, Platinum: Rising Rivals, Platinum: Supreme Victors, Platinum: Arceus, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and HeartGold/SoulSilver: Unleashed may be used. If you cannot satisfy these rules, players will be allowed to play any not fully evolved Pokemon in ther decks. (Pokemon not in their final stage of evolution: Basic Pokemon that don't evolve do not count: Any card from previous sets that didn't evolve until Diamond/Pearl may not be used) If the said card has an ability that the deck being played relies on, you may not play the card.

I expect honesty here, and please avoid Shuppet Donk

Swiss Rounds:
We have all the players paired up against other players multiple times in the tournament. The pairings will be based on how each player did against their opponent. For example, if Player A won their match against Player B, and Player C won their match against Player D, then Player A will next play Player C, and Player B will next play Player D. Since we have 6 players, please report the number of prizes both players drew to get some sort of average as to how the players can perform. The player with the most amount of prizes taken with a loss, and the player with a win and whose opponent drew the second-highest amount of prizes will play in the second round. If need be, this will be randomized. The player with a 2-0 record (2 wins, no losses) and another player with opponents of the lowest prize-drawing ratio will be the top-cut players and will play best 2-of-3 matches. Defeating an opponent by clearing his/her bench will count as the winning player taking 6 prize cards, and the losing player taking as many as s/he had in the game.

Best 2-of-3 match:
2 or 3 games will be played between the two highest-performing players. Whoever wins 2 of the three games wins the tournament.

That's basically it. Play with whatever ways the main thread says you can and have fun!~ ^__^

Please report matches ASAP. If a player can't show up to play a full game in 3 days from this date, then both players are paired against losing players and get an opponent prize ratio of 3 prizes drawn each. Try to arrange a time to play via PMing the opponent.

Just to clarify: who else feels we should be able to change up our decks between rounds? Since we're not reporting deck lists and all, and it isn't an official POP event, that is.

I think if we don't specify it in the rules or at the start of the tournament, then it shouldn't be a problem. If we want to add that in as a rule, it should come in after this tourny for any following ones.

It's okay if you wanna switch decks. This is just for fun, anyways.

I checked to see who's been online and who hasn't. From what I see, only cartercr and I were the ones online in the three days who hadn't finished our matches. So...the standings are as follows:

How is this tournament played? like do you just do like a webcam thing? this whole thing is kind of confus me. o.O

Yep. Once Rocket_Executive and I play [she's in top cut], I'll have cartercr and her play. The tournament isn't too easy to keep smooth because of time zones, so this is the best I could pull, and anyways, it's more fun this way.

So did you two get your match in?

Hum. Well, whoever you see online when you are, just play that person, and that's either me or cartercr. We'll see.

One week later and still no match, it seems. Should we declare a winner or wait a couple more weeks before doing so?
