    Your name is Casey Sharp, you live with your mother Elaine in the quaint inlet village of Littlebeach Town and together you run the small, cosy Sunrise Inn. The town is at the Southern side of the sparsely inhabited Diluculo Island. Trainers will often stay at the inn, and when you were a young boy they would tell you tales of enthralling adventures in exotic locations with amazing pokemon and sparked your intrest in perhaps one day also becoming a trainer.

    One day, when the local postal van breaks down, you are asked by the kind owners of the post office to deliver a parcel to the reclusive Prof. Minkowski who lives on his own in a cottage on Cape Infinity. Being such a good natured and courteous individual you of course oblige.

    You make your way over to the western cape of the island with haste and carelessly tread through long grass. Suddenly a wild Pokemon appears out of nowhere and attacks you. Its claws manage to create a gash in the side of your leg and you fall to the ground subdued. Suddenly, a figure appears from behind the trees and commands his Pokemon to disperse your attacker swiftly.

    Upon your rescue the figure reveals himslef to be none other than the enigma, Prof. Alexander Minkowski. He shows you to his cottage where he applies a dressing to your leg. At this point he notices you becoming very attached to the Pokemon that was used in your rescue. He asks you questions about your intrest in Pokemon, revealing that he used to be quite a trainer when he was younger. He decides that perhaps your future is as a trainer and offers you the Pokemon as a partner to your utmost delight.

    Soon after you say farewell to your friends and to your mother and leave the island to fulfill your dreams of being a Pokemon Master! Shortly after this however, you here the news that the Prof. has been kidnapped and you feel that you must do whatever you can to find him and rescue him. You find yourself diving headfirst into an ocean of danger, conspiracy and betrayal.

    Looks awesome. I've been eagerly awaiting this one for ages, since it was a hack. The region looks brilliant and very detailed. Looking forward to playing it!

    That was just a purely-for-fun fakedex that aocom made. He then gave me permission to use 4 of the fakes in it.

    And yes, Leolisk will be coming soon along with new fakemon. I'm currently in the process of re-designing the fakedex you see. That pokeball template you see currently is for the game's iDex (the first of many Apple references :cer_tongue:) - I'm making a more compact one for the thread itself.

    The iDex? Don't tell me it'll only be compatible with iPokemon caught using an iBall bought from the iMart.

    Anyway its looking good, I hope you keep the part about the brotherhood, I thought that was extremely creative and unique. Also didn't Drifellin fly you places in the old game? (Because honestly I think it would eat me before I got in it, :P, all kidding aside Drifellin looks pretty cool). Some of the tiles look a bit outdated, you may want to browse deviantart for some public tiles.

    Yeah. I :cer_love: maps.

    The Brotherhood are still the main antagonists, with a bit of a facelift to make them more epic.

    Driffelin airports will of course still feature.

    About the tiles... HG/SS tiles I find somewhat garish and DPPt tiles just look reallky depressing... I'm hoping to make the game half way. It is difficult, as we don't have a tile spriter, to make unique tiles. In an ideal world, with a tile spriter, every town would have a unique tileset. For example, I hope to make Radiant city look like Barcelona to fit with its Spanish theme:

    But without tilers, I'll have to settle for the nearist existing tileset. At the moment I'm using a mixture of Alistair's and Calis Projects' tiles with a few of my own thrown in.

    New Sprites: Leolisk, Hallowtomb & Albyphus

    Leolisk is the evolution of Kitotom.

    Hallowtomb is the evolution of Spiritomb.

    Albyphus is the evolution of Altaria.

    Sprites by aocom, Rolzor and Kuroda-Taiki respectively.

     
    Leolisk is good, Hallowtomb's sprite is cool (but Spiritomb does NOT deserve an evolution) and imo Albyphus looks like Suicune, I don't mean to rip it or anything, I just have a high standard set for Altaria evos.

    Seriously now, the story sounds interesting (especially because it's mostly out of the common starting story, and you gave us a reason to visit the professor and give him a parcel!), as well as using the 'unique', per say, idea of having the professor get kidnapped as reason to start our journey.

    The Fakemon also seem pretty nice; kudos on the latest ones posted, too, they're some of the best. :D

    As for graphics, well, it's a shame you can't get what you need; I could give a hand, but my tiles are all DPPt/HGSS styled, so there isn't much I can do there. :/

    Still, I wish you luck on this game!

    Thanks :cer_smile: I don't agree with you on the Albyphus-Suicune thing though. Spiritomb was given an evolution to make gym leader no. 7 even more difficult. :cer_wink: Call me sadistic if you will.

    Thanks :cer_smile: Diluculo is latin for "dawn". The 4 islands off the coast of the 2 main continents are named "dawn", "day", "dusk" and "night" in accordance with the general theme of time.

    this game looks pretty cool so far - the fakemon look awesome, the plot seems engaging, and the features sound fairly interesting. one thing, though - um, so the plot bit mentions the main character is a boy called casey...will there be an option to play as a girl?

    This something I've been playing over in my head for quite some time. I would rather this game follow much more of a story than most Pokemon games and so rigidifying the idea of being stuck with the name Casey Sharp and the male gender. I guess I could add in a female player, but with the exact same personality and character development called Evie Sharp. Whether that would detract from the story I do not know.

    One thing to point out is that this game was originally part of a trilogy of hacks. Pokemon Chronicles: The Garden of Eden, The Sands of Time & The Eye of the Storm. I decided this was far to ambitious and cut it down only the second game for now, as it was the most "standalone". Whether I will ever make the other two is unknown as I intend to get this one completed. The point I'm trying to make is that The Garden of Eden and The Eye of the Storm both have female protaganists. In fact Hope Cassidy, the protaganist of The Garden of Eden appears in The Sands of Time as a main character and a crucial part of the plot. So you can see why I'd rather keep names/gender fixed.

    It's really up to those who play the game. If you really, really can't stand playing as Casey Sharp, I'll add in the option to play as Evie but in all the other games I make in this series (if any!) he will appear as the NPC Casey.
