The Puella Magi Madoka Magica Project

    For those of you familiar with the series, you know that Puella Magi Madoka Magica is... a pretty messed up magical girl series. Dark, unpredictable, and character driven, it would be kind of hard to put together the plot without considering the players. So, I figured I'd gauge interest and get the applications first before writing the actual plot. At it's roots, the RP will be taking place in a North American city, and will revolve around a number of teams and individual Puella Magi.

    Puella Magi Appearance: Claire's Puella Magi attire is dominated by dark colors, copious amounts of frills and ribbons, and a general botanical motif. She wears a black bustier with green laces and ribbons and gray lace trim and frills, black and green sleeves with frilly gray cuffs, a black miniskirt, black silk thigh-high stockings (sufficiently long enough to give her grade A zettai ryouiki) held up by a garter belt, and black leather knee-high boots with 2" heels. Other accessories include a gray ribbon choker, a large black-and-green pinstripe ribbon tied around her back, a simpler black ribbon tied in her hair, and an elaborate copper and peridot hairpin fashioned in the likeness of a grape vine. Her Soul Gem is worn as a silver choker with a large peridot set in the center. She retains her glasses and her watch, though the latter is hidden under her sleeve.
    Puella Magi Abilities: Claire's primary ability is to conceal weapons in her clothes and conjure them up whenever needed. She prefers semiautomatic and machine pistols due to their compact size, which means she can hide them in her sleeves and have them slide right into her hands. Her favored sidearms are the SIG Sauer P220 (standard P220R) and P226 (P226 Tactical in 9x19mm Parabellum, fitted with a silencer and laser aiming module), though she has also been known to make use of several Heckler & Koch USP variants (USP45, USP45 Compact, USP9 Match), a Mini-Uzi, and a Steyr TMP. On occasions when she requires heavier firepower, she can drop rifles, carbines, SMGs, and shotguns from her skirt; her favored longarm is an M4A1 carbine fitted with various SOPMOD accessories (typical loadout is an Aimpoint CompM2 red-dot sight, AN/PEQ-5 laser aiming module, flashlight, vertical foregrip, and silencer, though she can change accessories as needed), though she has also been known to use a Mossberg 590 Compact, a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 (fitted with an underbarrel flashlight and an EOTech holographic sight), a standard Heckler & Koch G36E, a Norinco Type 56-1, a modified Heckler & Koch HK91A3 (fitted with a railed forearm, vertical foregrip, and Aimpoint CompM2 red-dot sight), and an SR-25 (fitted with a bipod and a Leupold 3.5–10x variable-power day scope). Other weapons in Claire's inventory include various blades, such as an M9 bayonet, a KA-BAR, a Gerber Mark II, and numerous throwing knives. She also has access to M26 and M84 grenades. She can always summon specific weapons when needed and can also drop spare magazines from her sleeves in order to reload her firearms.

    Claire can also extend and manipulate the various ribbons and laces in her clothes to snare, entangle, and constrict her foes. She can also cause vines to sprout from her expended shell casings; these vines can be used offensively in much the same way as her ribbons and laces, as well as defensively to erect barriers.
    Wish: Claire wished for an eidetic memory so that she could excel in her studies. Unlike most wishes granted by the Incubators, Claire's wish hasn't backfired horribly on her so far, though she has noticed some rather distressing changes in her personality...

    Puella Magi #1

    Name: Ruri Sasaki

    Born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, Ruri lived a relatively normal school life up until she was ten. She had two loving parents that doted on her. This was only as a result of their high expectations for her, however, since she was marked as being a quick learner at a very young age. Over the course of her childhood, they decided it would be best to nurture this ability, which resulted in restricting their daughter's friends and leisure time so that she'd focus more on studying.

    Then it happened. A few months after her tenth birthday, she was involved in a gruesome car accident that took the lives of several and left Ruri paralyzed from the neck down. This incident dashed the hopes of her parents, and they suddenly found themselves unsure of what to do with their daughter. All of their hopes for her had gone up in hypothetical smoke, and unfortunately they had forgotten how to love her properly amidst all of the hustle and bustle of trying to make her successful. Unable to move anything but her head, Ruri in the meantime had to become dependent on the hospital staff for everything. Eating, changing, using the washroom, she had lost all freedom she had grown up possessing. She fell into despair, personally, and she wasn't surprised when her parents stopped coming to visit her daily.

    The next three years passed slowly for the girl, who couldn't do much but sit with her thoughts. She eventually came to terms with her situation, but it didn't help her from longing for the ability to move her body once more. Her parents started visiting her frequently again, too, with talk of them searching frivolously to find a doctor capable of fixing her problem. This made her happy, of course, but not as happy as she found out that she was being taken out of the hospital for the first time in years - and overseas, at that! The doctor had apparently recommended taking her on a trip, to which her parents made the arrangements to take her to the United States for a couple of weeks. The trip went on without a hitch, and she had as much fun as she could bound to a wheelchair. However, the trip made her more sad that she didn't have movement once more.

    It was shortly before they were to go home that the girl suddenly had a peculiar encounter. A small, white creature that called itself Ryuubei appeared before her in her hotel room, promising to grant her any wish. Not telling her of the price, the girl foolishly complied, requesting her paralysis be removed. And so, the fate of a Puella Magi was cast upon her.

    Wish: A girl completely paralyzed in a horrible flying accident several years before the events transpiring now, Ruri met with an Incubator while her parents took her on a trip to America. Her wish was an easy way, and in exchange for become a Puella Magi, she was granted movement in her body back. The American government caught wind of this sudden, miraculous recovery, and suddenly barred the girl's family from leaving the country while they examined her regularly.
