This is my first go around at a Pokemon Roleplay, but I have enjoyed writing for quite a while... I hope that this is a thread that you enjoy, or want to be a part of... Here goes! ^^
First off, this roleplay is rated M.
Region: Sinnoh
Plot:
Bradyn Kipsingh first took on the art of Pokemon training at the young age of 12. He enjoyed some success, was an elite trainer for his age, and won quite a few Gym Badges. He made a good name for himself, although young, and although he had enemies he had far more allies. Hey... That's every young kids dream, right? Training Pokemon, winning, having plenty of friends and people to talk to, while not held to the rules of curfew, or "bedtime" by parents. It's basically a dream!
Wrong.
He started to miss his home. He started to miss his friends. He started to miss... The simple life! Oh yeah, and his mom too. Keeping his Pokemon that are closest to him, Bradyn took a step back away from the battles, the travel, and returned home to live with his parents at the new age of 14. Some of his closer friends criticized him, called him a quitter, as at the moment that he decided to step away he was on a bit of a losing streak. Nothing was going right, his Pokemon were beginning to become stand-offish towards him... All these things made sense to him of course, but apparently not to his friends. Friends, were now enemies, and the only people that he had a care for in the world were his parents and the Pokemon that he still had by his side.
Of course, life away from the battles was nice. It was really nice, in fact. However... Soon, his closest Pokemon, an experienced and brilliant Vaporeon, began to miss the battle life. Bradyn now 19, the life of going to the market, or going to the beach... While nice, it wasn't cutting it for Vaporeon. Especially with the annual Beach Battles coming up... An event that he and Bradyn had won all three times that the pair competed. Relaxing was nice, but battling, and proving your worth among the working force... THAT was what Vaporeon wanted.
And although Bradyn would never say it... He wanted it, too.
Enter the comeback.
Oh, and the real plot, too...
As Bradyn is now 19, and has been out of the battles for five years, most would say that he is behind in what trainers, and how battles go nowadays. Not the case. While it has been a while since he and his team of Eevee evolution's have been part of a battle, he has been training and working hard with them for the day. The day? The day of the comeback... In the back of his head, he always knew that he was going to make the return. It was just going to come with age. And now that he had age on his side... It was time for some experience.
Starting his travels back across Sinnoh, Bradyn stumbles across a tough new competition called Stars of Sinnoh: Battle till you Sink. SoS is now being held in Sunyshore City, due to the beautiful and beachy feel of the city. Also, the matches are to be held in a new, state-of-the-art, all-water facility. Of course, not all the trainers' Pokemon have to be of the water-type, and their will be arena's available to rise from the water for those Pokemon not of the water-type. Those of the water-type however, will indeed have a distinct advantage, as their are no rules stating that water pokemon, even if at the advantage, have to stay above water.
The entrant field for SoS is a measly eight, but the selected eight are some of the best. Bradyn fought hard for his spot, defeating a flurry of Sunyshore's most talented trainers to earn his spot in the tournament. It certainly was not easy, and it was certainly not without loss... A few of his Pokemon took on serious injuries, and are now out for the beginning/conclusion of SoS (Vaporeon is not among those, just an fyi). Working with a half-new, half-old team is sure to be a challenge, but Bradyn is determined and sure that he can make it through his challenges to become the Inaugural champion.
This is where YOU all come in.
Whether your path was easy, or it was difficult like that of Bradyn, your mission is the same as his: To become the champion on this new event. Whether you are making a comeback, or you've been around for a while... Obviously, who you are and what you do is up to you. Whether you're friendly, or you're mean... Again, up to you. The prize of winning the the title, although a new tournament, is huge. The winner of this tournament will receive the highest pay to date (something you can decide), as well as worldwide recognition of your accomplishments. Due to the state-of-the-art facilities design, and the fame of the (later to be identified) tournament host, each and every battle will be televised. Again, this will be worldwide. It will make more sense once the hosts' name is released, but I'm going to hold out on that for a while.
The tournament isn't without it's own demons, however...
Just like with any other tournament, or event of fame, the tournament has gained a lot of bad reputations. The big payout, while nice, has people wondering just who the host is... Is the host just a successful business man? An ex-trainer? Or is it an evil plot, by an evil organization in search of the next great team of Pokemon? So much speculation, so much anger... Trainers that are competing in SoS are going to have to be very careful with those that they trust. After all, the last person you trust... Might just be the last person you ever see.
Is the title worth it? Is the fame worth it? You decide.
