First Contact [T] SU/OOC [Recruiting new Players]
Story:
The planet of Eilith has been peaceful for over 270 years. Here hundreds of different, races (Pokemon) call home. The races were once fractured decades ago, but when the Devourers appeared in force they were forced to unite or die. The Devourers are a race of adaptive large bug like organisms that always existed alongside Eilith as ruthless always hungering beasts. Their intelligence was very limited, was disorganized and never seen as a threat, but one day something caused them to gather together and form a vast army. They numbers were vast and suddenly they moved and attacked with purpose and showed tactics in battle. Worse yet they started to evolve and change into better killers. They seemed unstoppable until Arceus gathered all the Pokemon together and started to fight back. Ever since the great warrior Arceus and his small group of elite soldiers defeated the Devourers, the Eilithians have known relative peace while united under the banner of the Great Kingdom of Arceus, named after the great leader that saved us so many years ago. The Devourers have turned into nothing more than legends or a few small disorganized bands that roam The Scar, a vast wasteland that were the original swarm appeared from.
Life for the Eilithians however changed forever when a vast vortex opened in the night sky and a vast metal object appeared from within it. It landed deep in the Fardir Forest leaving a vast scar and destroying at least one village and worse yet a scared site devoted to two of Arceus' followers and a temple for worshiping the goddess of life. From this object emerged a new race that seemed ready for war using strange technology vastly superior to anything the Eilithians had.
Humanity (Terrans) is on the verge of extinction. Once the Galatical Terran Alliance spanned over hundreds of systems until they encountered a vastly superior race they began to call the Shivans. The Shivans attacked without mercy or reason, slaughtering any human they came across and laid waste to any planet the Terrans colonized. Now all that remains of humanity is a fleeing exodus fleets who the Shivans continue to hunt. Your exodus fleet now only consists of the damaged Respite, a Deimos class corvette. After making a risky jump to escape some Shivan pursuers the Respite accidently jumped into the atmosphere of an alien planet and soon after crashed onto the surface.
Lucky enough the planet can sustain life, which is good because this is the planet the humans are stuck on and it's your new home.
The RP will start right after the human cruiser crashes. So neither race has encountered each other yet in person. To make matters worse the humans and Pokemon are incapable of communicating with each other for now…
Humans (Terrans) Overview:
You are one of the few remaining survivors aboard the GTC Respite. For all you know you're the last remaining humans and going extinct is not an option. You have just spent the last 2 years in space fleeing an unstoppable enemy who destroyed your home world and killed off the rest of your race. You're not going to let some primitive race finish you off. If they show any signs of hostility the Terrans will not hesitate to unleash the full power of your technology.
Eilithian (Pokemon) Overview:
Your life was simple until this vast object crashed to your planet close to your home, and destroyed not only a local village where you likely had friends or family (or was your home and you were visiting a different village), but also a sacred temple and monument to two great heroes who hailed from this forest. No doubt the King in his throne hundreds of miles away will send an army to help, but for now it's just a few local villages facing this vast metal object. Already the villagers are debating whether to destroy this object or investigate it first…
Expanded Terran/Human Information (suggested reading if you plan to make a Human characted):
We once held an Empire than spanned across our entire galaxy, and then we discovered Subspace and discovered a way to travel in it. Now our Empire knew no boundaries as we expanded across the universe. At first we found no other advanced life that was comparable to our own, until we encountered the Vasudans in the Vega Galaxy. They too had discovered Subspace, and at first we stood out of each other's way. However our two great Empires could not ignore each other forever, and 10 years after first contact our two races went to war.
The Galatical Terrain Alliance soon took the upper hand as we began pushing back the Vasudan Empire, system after system fell to the GTA as our superior military crushed the Vasudans and pushed them all the way to their home system. There we had our bloodiest battle, and there we thought we proved ourselves unstoppable. We unleashed our full Armada on the Vasudans and in the span of three days we completely crushed them. We subdued their race and left them in their home system under the supervision of the 2nd Fleet. 10 years later we discovered an ancient device created before we even left our own galaxy. Our top scientists studied the device, but were unable to activate it until we found the ruins several systems away on a scorched lifeless rock that looked like it might have been a thriving planet.
There we discovered the secrets of the space portal, and there we ignored the warnings that would bring our race to the verge of extinction. We activated the space portal that revived a once dead Subspace node, and jumped into a vast Nebula on the other side. We hoped to discover new worlds to add to our empire, but instead we found the Shivans.
After we lost contact with the nebula exploration fleet we sent in a small battle fleet to investigate what had happened. What returned was a single Corvette that was terribly damaged. They told us to destroy the gate, but they were too late… they had led the Destroyers to us. System after system fell to the mysterious and power race whose technology was vastly greater than our own. We now understood what had happened to the ancients, and realized we should have heeded their warnings.
We fought back with everything we had. We capture their technology and started to reverse engineer it, but nothing was enough to stop them. The Shivans captured system after system, but it was the fall of Vasuda Prime that made us realized our fate. There the entire 2nd Fleet alongside the remains of the 3rd and 6th Fleets made their stand. We armed our former enemies the best we could, but there was nothing we could do to stop the Shivan's super destroyer and its fleet. We watched helplessly as they crushed the defenses and then proceeded to bombard Vasuda Prime from orbit for over 48 hours leaving it a lifeless rock, and completely wiping out the defiant Vasudans.
We realized then if we could not stop them that Terra, or Earth as it used to be called, would be next. We let the Shivans have several systems as we gathered our forces and prepared for the final battle for our homeworld. By this point we were already starting to use reverse engineered versions of our enemy's weapons, and what remained of our armada made their final stand in the Sol system, and there the Shivans sealed our fate. At first we held them off, and when we destroyed the Shivan's "super" destroyer we called the Lucifer we thought we had survived. However we were wrong…
8 months later the Shivans returned, and this time there was no stopping them. We had never recovered from the first war and their 2nd fleet was stronger than the first. We had no choice but to leave everything behind and flee into the unknown using unstable subspace nodes we never darned to use before. Our ship the GTCv Respite was a part of a small fleet of civilian and military vessels that fled into the unknown. For 2 years we ran… for 2 years they hunted us… one by one the other ships were destroyed. First the inferior civilian transports fell, then one by one our fellow military ships were destroyed until it was just our lone cruiser, and 3 remaining escort fighters. On the 6th year of our attempt to flee and survive the Shivans once again attacked us, and forced us to take a dangerous jump with a failing subspace drive.
To make matters worse the jump node itself was unstable and on the verge of a complete collapse, and with a subspace drive barely working, and the node itself was showing an anomaly we called a subspace storm a certain point, and we were forced to leave subspace right before it or be destroyed. That is when we discovered that the anomaly was created by the path of the subspace tunnel going through a planet. When we exited subspace we found ourselves already in the middle of the planet's atmosphere. The crew did their best to keep the Retribution flying but with most of our engines damaged or destroyed and not being prepared for atmosphere operations, which the ship was never built to do, we crashed.
The crash landing was well preformed for never being done before and most of the humans onboard survived it. Plus the ship itself stayed mostly intact, but sadly there is no way she will ever fly again without needing years in a proper equipped dock much less on a strange alien planet with limited supplies. The good news however is the planet actually sustains life and has the right atmospheric conditions for human survival. Perhaps we have found a new home…
Culture:
There are 172 Terrains who survived… you believe you are the last of your kind and you are determined to survive. Most of the remaining Terrains are military, but a few civilians were aboard the ship as well. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, but is unified by the mission to survive and continue the race. Terrains are all deeply scared by the war with the Shivans everyone has lost almost everything. All have lost friends, family, comrades, and almost everything they own. However you have survived, and you will not allow your kind to die off to anything, especially some primitive races that inhabit this planet. You will make this planet your home…
You do not trust any outside race, and hostile actions will be met with equal or greater force. Humans are here to survive…
Their current leadership is a three person committee consisting of Navy Captain Rachael Hunter, Space Force Colonel Ezekiel Grimm, and Counsel Woman Emily Smith*.
Technology/Standard equipment:
Respite, Deimos class corvette
The Respite is a Deimos class corvette. It's one of the most advance Terran capital ships and has several reverse engineered Shivan technologies built into it including a shielding system, and the main weapons being the high powered beam cannons instead of the standard Terran mass drivers. In the crash however, the Respite is heavily damaged and will never fly again. Many of its weapons were damaged or destroyed and its shielding system has been badly damaged. Despite all this it still makes a powerful fortress the humans can protect humanity from all but the most determined attacks.
Hellion Combat Transport:
The Hellion class light VTOL Troop transport was created after it was discovered more Marines were dying in troop transports to Shivan fighters than in actual combat. The Hellion was invented as a transport/fighter. Fast, maneuverable the Hellion has the maneuverability of a heavy fighter, but still suffers from low firepower compared to normal fighters. This allows it to fight off its aggressors, and even destroy them in the hands of the skilled pilot. A Hellion can carry at max a team of 16 fully equipped troops, but is normally set up to carry 12 or a team of 6 with medical facilities on board. It has 2 main weapon mounts, 2 small missile banks, and 2 anti-infantry support weapons for danger close infantry support. The Respite currently has 4 Hellions on board but 1 is heavily damaged. This is the main means of transportation for the humans in the RP.
Standard Issue Terran Marine Equipment (You are not required to use this equipment, but it's what you will have access to as a Marine):
Pictured above is a standard Marine soldier in atmosphere uniform. In non atmospheric conditions a full face helmet replaces the above helmet. Marines usually carry a carbine, assault rifle, or an energy weapon as their primary weapon. Also most Marines some sort of lighter heavy weapon to deal with armored foes such as Shivans (pictured above is the Plasma Rifle on the Marine's back). Its common practice to open up with the heavy weapon then quickly pull out their main rifle to exploit the weakness in the Shivan's armor. Or for the squad's heavy weapon team to crack the Shivan's exoskeleton before dispatching it with standard weapons fire.
Uniform (Grey for Navy, navy blue tops (almost black) with red accents, lighter blue bottoms with red stripe down the leg for Marines, pictured is Space Force, and pure Black for Special Operations Command)
The Enemy:
Shivans are still a mysterious race to humanity despite how long we have been fighting with them. All attempts at communication ended horribly, and their motives are completely unknown. What little we know about them is they seem to be at home in zero-gravity/low gravity environments. On a planet's surface they tend to be much more sluggish and much easier to kill. This is why many believe they just lay waste to planets from orbit instead of take over them. They are covered in a hard carapace like armor that is resistant to standard weapons fire and usually takes an explosive or heavy energy weapon to "crack their shell". Once there is a weak point however a Shivan is still tough to bring down. Because of this Marines are forced to learn how to effectively work as a team to bring down individual Shivans quickly, or bring some really big guns. Also both of their front shoulders house a built in energy weapon that can completely incinerate a Marine with a single blast, and can also cut through all but the most heavily armored vehicles with ease. These fact bring some scientists to believe they are either artificially enhanced or were artificially created, while others feel they were just born for war.
Their knowledge of subspace and energy systems are years ahead of the humans, and it was thanks to stealing Shivan technology we ever have shields and beam weaponry, though our versions are still weaker than their Shivan counter parts. Below are a few images of commonly seen Shivan craft. Not only are their ships more powerful they outnumber us by an unknown number. The only advantage the GTA has is that it seems like their pilots and crews are not as skilled as our own. Shivans also seem to focus on speed, maneuverability, and firepower. Their only weakness is their ships tend to have weaker armor than ours, but their shielding systems often negate that weakness.
Lilith class Cruiser
Mara Fighter
Restrictions:
No criminal backgrounds or stowaways. If you want to be a rogue thief you need to make a Pokemon.
Before everything you were mentally sound (though the stresses of the war could have caught up with you now). So no psychotics from a kid type thing. GTA command would not have assigned someone showing signs of being completely psychotic to an exodus fleet. You can be suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome.
You can be a civilian but even as a civilian you have some military training due to the desperate nature of the situation.
Expanded Pokemon Information (Suggested reading for a Pokemon player):
A thriving society of hundreds of different races under one unified nation that spans across the planet is the best way to describe the Eilithians. Before the Devourers appeared they were fractured, and war was a constant problem between the various tribes of magical races. When the swarm of Devourers first appeared everything saw them as another tribe but after they ruthlessly crushed several tribes and began spreading like locusts it became apparent they were different. Arceus saw this before the rest of the races… he was the last in his tribe and a survivor of the swarm's warpath. Arceus was able to unite all the tribes, but even united the situation seemed hopeless. Arceus and his group of legendary warriors made the ultimate sacrifice by making a daring attack deep into the heart of the Devourers and using their vast power to seal away the Devourer's main army at the costs of their own lives.
In honor of their sacrifices all the Tribes came together and formed the Great Kingdom of Arceus, naming after their great hero. The Pokemon swore to never let them become so fractured again, and the Kingdom has survived to this day.
The current king Firit the "Great" seems more concerned with his own comfort and enjoying his power than being a good king. Thankfully his short sightedness prevents him from influencing everyone, but I hear the capital is no longer the greatest place to live. For most Eilithians however life has been the same despite the changing seat of power in the capital of Arcia. Life was simple until the humans arrived. Their ship tore a hole in the sky that sent out vast amounts of strange energy, and lit up the sky. From that it emerged a vast metal ship that spat out fire. At first it looked like it would loom above our planet, but it soon came crashing down destroying much or Fardir Forest and wiping out the village of Mirit.
Culture:
The Eilithians or Pokemon as we better know them are an intelligent race that speaks one unified language (They DO NOT say their names over and over again). They are a mystical race that specializes in the use of magic (their abilities) whether to attack a target directly or enhance their physical attacks (Fighting types/melee moves). The Eilithians are relatively peaceful other than a few guards, but almost every single one of them wields great power. For most Eilithians this power helps them with their day to day work, and helps make a living.
Overall the various cities, towns, and villages vary in looks depending on size and location. Often they meld into their environments (villages in forests are a series of tree houses, and ones in mountains are carved out of the rocks in the mountains). For years they have known peace, and lived in harmony with each other and nature.
However there are always those with twisted hearts that prey on the weak, but as a whole the Eirithians are peaceful. If a criminal is caught they will often be branded with a magical mark on their right hand and exiled to the pass that is the main way from the Scar into the Kingdom. Here life is very rough since they are forces to scavenge for food and supplies in the Scar itself why preventing small bands of Devourers from leaving the Scar.
If caught in the Kingdom with the mark these renegades are to be killed on sight no matter how petty their original crime was.
The Eilithians tend to be very mystical and/or religious. Most choose a god or goddess to devote their lives to, but a few worship them all as a whole. It is not uncommon to find Psychic types making a career out of being a fortune teller, or a Ghost type trying to help one talk to their ancestors.
Here is a list of the chief gods and goddesses:
Fircia: goddess of life
Hargirt: god of wisdom and intelligence
Rivir: god of strength, honor, and victory
Valkri : goddess of death and judgement
Ilith: goddess of magic and destiny
Hisgar: god of night, secrets, and mischief

Humans:
Stingray - Brigadier General Ezekiel Grimm
Name: Ezekiel Grimm, Brigadier General
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Job: Ranger/Commanding Officer of the Ground Forces
Appearance:
Ezekiel's 5 feet 8 inches frame has no fat on it, and along with his muscular body gives him a fit, but not bulging with steroid muscles appearance. He has sharp facial features, short military cut dark brown ( almost black hair), and piercing midnight blue eyes. Ezekiel's last name is fitting since he never smiles, and always appears serious and business like.
As a former commander of the 101st Airborne he tends to wear the standard issue battle uniform. He is usually wearing the battle dress uniform over his more formal uniforms. While he has several different varients of the battle uniform he only wears the urban warfare version on the ship consists of several different shades of grey and black. However once on planet he will wear the forest green, and brown battle uniform instead. Whenever he is in dress uniform it is always perfectly pressed and looks quite impressive with all his ribbons on his shoulder topped off by his jump wings. No matter what uniform he is wearing he always has his holstered magnum pistol on his right side.
In the two years the Respite has been fleeing the Shivans Ezekiel has never been seen in civilian attire.
Personality:
Ezekiel is always serious, and always seems to be on duty. Even during his time off he is either locked up in his room, found in the gym, simulated firing range, or library reading up on military books. He never wants to talk about his personal life and always tries to change the subject to more serious matters. Even during times of "celebration" (They try to celebrate holidays and special occasions to keep up morale) Ezekiel is working. Ezekiel is open to talk and will engage in conversation, but many avoid it with him since all he seems to talk about is work. Because of his work, sleep, and eat mentality he has no real "friends," but is highly regarded by those he serves with.
In combat he has a cool head and nerves of steel. He seems completely fearless, and will face down any enemy and only retreats when he feels it's the correct tactical decision to make. As a leader he commands first and fights second, but he is also the type that leads from the front. He hates office work and avoids it at all costs. Instead he prefers to be on the field leading his troops and insure they all come home.
However mentally Ezekiel is on the verge of a meltdown, but no one knows it because he can hide it so well. He suffers from almost constant nightmares of the horrors of the Shivan War, and horrible memories of friends and comrades dying under his command. He blames himself for many of the deaths and he can't help but think of everything he could have done so they would be alive today. In many cases there was nothing he could have done or he had made the right choice, but he seems to ignore that. Unable to face the pain and move past it, the only way Ezekiel has coped with it so long is by ignoring it. This is the reason he is always working is to keep his mind off the pain.
Ezekiel often forms strong bonds with certain people. When he does he is willing to die with and for them. Despite this all those he has shared this comrade ship with have died leaving Ezekiel with the pain, and suffering for feeling like a failure for not protecting them. He has been slowly shutting himself off from others or attempting to so he doesn't have to deal with this pain any more. This might led him to seem heartless and cold at times.
Also his position as the officer over much of the Exodus Fleet's evacuation haunts him still, but being the only member of the evacuation coordination team alive the truth why it haunts him is hidden.
History:
Ezekiel was born in the Capella system, a system on the edge of Terran/Vasudan space at the time, on the planet Capella Prime. Growing up Ezekiel was very close to his father who was in the army. His father was his hero and role model, and because of this he dreamed of following in his dad's footsteps. Despite his father often being deployed their relationship was extremely strong, and whenever his dad was home the two were always doing things together. By age 10 he could name off any weapon in the GTAA's armory, its caliber, and its effective range. He also earned a black belt in karate by the age of twelve. His father actually was a little concerned for his gung ho son at times since he seemed a little too devoted to following in his footsteps. Ezekiel planned to enlist once he was done in high school, but his teachers and his father, a Sergeant Major in the GTA Army, pushed him to apply to West Point Academy on earth instead.
Ezekiel heeded the advice of those around him and went to West Point instead of enlisting. At first Ezekiel wasn't the best cadet at West Point due to his love for social activities, but that changed in the first month of his sophomore year. Ezekiel received news that his father had been killed during the war with the Vasudans. At his father's funeral Ezekiel made one last promise to his dad as they laid his body to rest. He promised to get his life back on track, and become the best officer in the army in honor of his hero. Ezekiel kept to his promise and refocused his life. He graduated top middle of his class (his poor performance his Freshman year was the only reason he didn't make top). Plus he was accepted to be one of the select few officers in the Airborne Rangers, and there he proved himself quickly as a Lieutenant to the skeptical Rangers. Ezekiel worked twice as hard as his men and was determined to be the best officer they had ever been under. He quickly gained the loyalty and admiration of his men which was vital in Ezekiel's first engagement in battle.
When Ezekiel's feet first hit the battlefield it was shocking at first and overwhelming to be in actual combat making life or death decisions. However with the support of his troops he was quickly able to get himself under control and led a successful first operation. From that day forward he continued to grow and excel as an officer. When the Shivans appeared Ezekiel was part of the first group of ground soldiers to battle the Shivans. Thanks to Ezekiel's men's determination and his own leadership some of his unit was able to survive and make it off world with vital information on this new enemy. From there Ezekiel led many important operations and quickly raised the depleting ranks as the high causality rates ate up much of the officer corps.
Ezekiel also became known for his love for "larger" weapons and for being the only officer who insisted on using a light machine gun over a standard rifle, and for his signature magnum pistol that he apparently killed a Shivan using only a single shot (in reality it was already wounded but rumors have a way of twisting the truth). The casing of the shell he used to kill that Shivan he wears around his neck for good luck even to this day. Ezekiel played no part in the last battle for Earth since the Shivans never made ground fall. However he did help coordinate the evacuation for the Exodus fleets. This however was the worse assignment he ever had and he refuses to talk about it.
Some assume he used his position to secure himself a slot in the Exodus fleets, but any soldier or marine who has worked with him knows that is wrong. The truth was Ezekiel was forced on the Exodus Fleet by the direct orders of The Chief of Staff of the Army along with a promotion to Brigadier General. This made Ezekiel the youngest flag officer in the history of the Galatical Terran Alliance, but he knew deep down it was a move by the Chief of Staff to keep the Army intact, and he hated being used as a political tool. Ezekiel at this point had lost everything and he wanted nothing more than to help lead the last desperate defense of Earth.
During the first year with the Exodus fleet Ezekiel served directly under General Vitz of the Marine Corp, but when the flag ship the GTD Ares was destroyed Ezekiel found himself the surviving senior ranking officer. He let the Respite's Captain continue command over the Naval assets, but Ezekiel quickly took command over the Marines aboard the ship (strangely he is the only Army member on the ship and is over the marines). At first there was some resistance, but Ezekiel was quick to prove himself the best man for the job and by the time the Respite had crashed on the alien planet most of the marines accepted him as one of their own.
Note: Ezekiel's ability to suppress his pain is almost flawless and he shows no outwardly signs of it (A session with a good psychologist might be able to break him but he will never go to one). However Pokemon able to sense emotions (with psychic abilities or naturally like the Ralts line) will be able to see through his suppressing abilities.
Weapons:
Hammer Squad Light Machine Gun. Made from strong but light weight composites makes the Hammer much easier to handle than most Light Machine Guns. It is favored among Special Operations and Airborne personel due to this fact, but doesn't see as much use with conventional ground forces since it uses a smaller caliber, and has a shorter effective range than the much larger Bison Light Machine Gun.
The Avenger Magnum pistol packs a huge punch but has limited range, a very nasty kick, and takes more time than a standard clip fed pistol to reload. Despite these issues Ezekiel wields this weapon over more conventional side arms, and his use of this large unwieldy pistol has become a trademark of his.
Supervegeta - Alex "Hyena" Sherman
Name: Alex "Hyena" Sherman
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Job: Marine (Lance Corporal)
Appearance:
Spoiler:
Alex is covered head-to-toe in a custom-modified armor suit based off the standard Marine non-atmospheric uniform. He is rarely seen without his helmet on, even in non combat situations. However, he has sharp blue eyes. If his helmet is removed, a scar is easily visible going right around his left eye. His hair color is black and shaved. His skin is rather pale, mostly from constant lack of any sunlight upon him from constant use of his modified suit. He stands at 6 feet tall, 190 pounds. Inside his suit, he is a bit taller, at around 6 feet, 3 inches, and approximately 225 pounds. His physique is normal, not overly muscular but not skinny either. He will never be seen without his suit on, although his helmet may occasionally come off. They say he sleeps with it on as well.
Personality: Alex is a mild-mannered and quiet man. Some say that if it wasn't for his notable suit of armor, they wouldn't even realize he is in the room. He rarely speaks, except upon given an order to do so, or when answering a question. Otherwise, it is often hard to begin a conversation with Alex. If one would try to start a conversation with Alex, he would usually respond with one word answers, or possibly not respond at all. It is not that he dislikes the person, but it's more the fact that he dislikes talking at all.
Alex is a loner. He has been one ever since he could remember. Crowds are a bother to him. He dislikes company around him, preferring isolation above anything else. If assigned to work in a team, he will do so, grudgingly, but he will still keep to himself. It's those situations with Alex. Crowds seem to make him uncomfortable, and he prefers to be as far away from other humans as possible. He has taken even greater measures to be physically and mentally distant from others, as seen with his full body armor. By constantly wearing it, and never taking it off, he becomes emotionally detached, and physically and mentally more distant from others.
The armor also serves as a physical and mental barrier from other people, so they would not be able to see his face. He dislikes others seeing his face, and therefore, to him, reading his emotions. He prefers to keep them to himself, as well as his thoughts. Alex feels if he is as detached from others as possible, he could focus more on completion of tasks at hand. People often comment on how Alex appears to be way too serious sometimes, often intimidating even with his armor always on, wherever he goes.
Alex got his nickname mainly because of how he acts. In his armor all the time, he appears to always be rigid and focused, but also serious and without humor. A higher-ranked officer once commented on that a long time ago, saying he shouldn't take himself so seriously, and be more outgoing, and laugh a bit more. The conversation went as follows:
"You know, Sherman, you should try to be less serious sometimes."
"..."
"I dunno, maybe settle down, relax, laugh a bit more. You know, Sherman, laugh? Like a Hyena? You know how to laugh?"
Ever since, the name stuck, and Sherman is known all around as Hyena. It's one of those ironic nicknames.
History: Alex was born on an out of the way Terran colony system called Unam. The population was rather small, and in all honesty, not much was able to be done around. Alex's mom was a nurse, and his father was a diplomat on the planet. Both had comfortable lives, and treated Alex well. While growing up on the planet, Alex kept mostly to himself, choosing not to hang around or with other children his age. He preferred solitude. He never knew why. Perhaps it was the quiet along time he got, or the fact that all his thoughts were to himself. Whatever the reason, Alex was usually found on his own. Even with his own family, he never was overly attached. He loved them, like any other boy loved their parents, but he wasn't deeply attached to them, like other children might have been. His parents always thought he was strange like that, but usually didn't bother to bring it up much.
Alex was interested in other races, however, and the fascination that would come with finding about other advanced races. He would usually be found watching holovids of interactions with the Vasudans. Ever since first contact with them, since he was a baby, Alex followed what was happening. When war broke out between Terrans and Vasudans, Alex followed the information even more. He was amazed at the battles they faced, and always wanted to be apart of them. He hoped on day, he would, thinking of war more as a game than a serious matter. In honesty, Alex was more interested in seeing the aliens in person that defending anyone, or protecting people. But, before he was old enough, the humans won, and the Vasudans were defeated. Alex felt a tinge of regret that he wasn't a bit older, so that he could have participated in the wars. Nevertheless, life went on.
By the time he was in his teenage years, Alex enrolled in the Galactic Terran Alliance Military Academy, or GTAMA on Unam. He was a gifted student, and instructors praised his intelligence and skill. However, they also commented heavily on his social awkwardness and inability to make friends. Still, he graduated from the Academy, and upon his 18th birthday, enrolled in the military. His first few years in the military were relatively eventful. He was sent on a few high-risk missions to eliminate pirates, and similar missions. But it wasn't until a few years later that his real test emerged. Upon the discovery of an ancient device and the unleashing of the Shivans, Alex could only watch as planets were systematically reduced to rubble by bombardment, and others captured. Alex could fight all he wanted on the ground, but in a space battle, with their advanced technology, it might as well have been worthless. That is what he witness as Vasuda Prime was bombarded into oblivion. But it was what came after that stuck with Alex. The GTA decided to regroup at the Sol system while the Shivans took out a few more GTA-controlled systems.
It just so happened that one of them was Unam, his birthplace. Alex, upon request, was transferred to the groundside battles of Unam. Upon his homeworld, the colonists made their stand. The initial ground defense held the first few waves of Shivan ground capabilities, holding for over 2 weeks. However, eventually, the cities started falling, and in little under a week later, the entire planet was taken. Transports, both the remaining civilian and military, attempted to make an escape, but many were shot out of the sky upon lift-off. Alex made it out from one of the two remaining transports. One military, and one civilian, where his parents happened to be. Before they attempted to leave the planet orbit, however, Alex saw the civilian transport destroyed, and his parents with it. It was a terrible thing to witness. The Shivans then proceeded to destroy the planet, as Alex left on the last transport operating with a handful of other people. These were the last people from his home planet. All of the others, his family, people he knew, were all gone. As Alex watched the slaughter from the window, a thought occurred to him. Even though this was his homeland, and he had just witnessed it's destruction, he didn't feel much anguish as he thought he would. Even his parent's death didn't get to him too much. He was sad yes, but not overly emotional. It seemed that, because of all of his detachments from people, friends, and even family, he had saved himself the anguish of pain of loss. Alex made up his mind that this would be the best course of continued action, and he vowed to stay to it. In a world of war, especially in an environment like this one, people were going to die. It was inevitable. But the pain afterwards...was optional.
Alex returned back to the final battle of the Shivans, where their main super destroyer was destroyed, and it was believed victory was achieved. For 8 months, nothing major occurred, and the terrans believed themselves to finally be secure again. Alex, during those 8 months, had a custom armor made for himself, to further remove himself from others.
When the Shivans returned, with twice the power, there was nothing that could be done. Pursued, the Terrans retreated beyond known space as the Shivans were relentless. Down to the last ship, the others seemed to believe this to be the end. Then came the incident with the subspace malfunction, and the following crash-landing on a strange new planet. The ship was unoperable, but the planet seemed to sustain life, and an opportunity, perhaps, to begin anew. The Terrans were hopeful, but only time would tell for sure.
ODSTMarine - Gunnery Sergeant Daniel "Chino" Calhoun
Not as long as I wanted, but better than forcing ideas.
Name: Daniel "Chino" Calhoun (Nicknames: "Chino, Danny, Dan".)
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Job: Marine - SOC (Gunnery Sergeant)
Appearance:
Danny wears the Expensive, adaptive, and effective custom Nanosuit 2. Under his armor...
^Out of armor, dressed.
Spoiler:
Personality: Danny is one of the best soldiers in his former platoon, this cause him to gain a cocky attitude once in a while. Most of the time he is the calm person he always has been. It takes time and work to extremely anger him, but just plain angering him isn't as difficult. Dan takes orders well, and fights just as well. For a weapons preference, Daniel likes Sub-Machine Guns, handguns, and assault rifles, though he is skilled with most weapons from snipers to explosives. He likes to look different from the people around him, he hates to look the same.Intelligence, something he lacks none of, especially in tactics. His head lets him come up with crazy and effective strategies on the fly,his armor lets him carry it out. When it comes to music, he likes Punk Rock, Heavy and Normal metal, as well as Hard Rock. Danny can also sometimes be defensive of friends, especially if someone is trying to harm them, other than his few belongings, his friends are all he has left.
History: Danny has always has been good with firearms. At the age of 8, he started Parkour lessons. When he was 16, he already owned a Assault Rifle, and was a Merc. Two years later, He left and joined up with the armed forces, where he used his, now rechambered to the old, but powerful .416 Barrett, and joined in the war. He got to know the soldiers in his squad well as they went on multiple missions on the front. After Twenty successful missions on the front and preforming extremely well on all missions as well as in between them in training and in general public, the Special Operations Command added Danny to there map. One mission later, he was offered a spot. After a lot of convincing from his squad, and three days of thinking, he left his best and closest friends and became a member of the SOC. He was put in a new squad, which was just created for Nanosuit 2 testing under the designation 'Freelancer.' The only people who knew about them was those high up in command, the trainers, and the occasional marine who saw them in the field.
---------
Years later
---------
Freelancer had lost 15 out of it's 35 members to the Shivans. Even for them, in there suits it was hard to kill just one. Danny was put on a ship headed back to Terra for defense purposes after the battle at Vasuda Prime was lost along with all the other members of Freelancer. The company that made the Nanosuit had most likely been destroyed, there was no question that it wasn't inhabited any longer, abandoned with the planet, which was too bad, imagine if the whole army was equipped with them, though that would cost a lot to do that. When The Marines won the battle for Terra, Danny took leave on the planet. It was a nice vacation, especially since he hadn't had one in his whole service. The day that the Shivans attacked again, he was as shocked as everyone else, all he remembers of that was getting picked up by a dropship and being assigned to a ship.
Daniel and one of his old squad members were assigned to the GTC Respite for the evacuation. The only things he had left was his uniform, a few items he always kept with him, his rifle and his armor.
During the escape, he tended to stick to himself or with his former squad mate. He didn't really like being around the other people. The odd thing about that is he normally isn't shy like that. After a while he got used to being around the other members. He was often seen with both his SCAR and his Majestic, as he felt naked without his weapons, as had carried them non-stop for years. When the ship was attacked, he helped make sure there were no, borders to the ship, since he didn't know how to operate the ship, that's what the crew was for. Other than helping with heavy lifting, he didn't do much else, so he spent a lot of time in the mess.
Weapons:
S-C-A-R 2
Superior-Combat-Assault-Rifle V2. Fires 4mm sabot SCAR rounds
Dannys carried this with him since his days as a Merc. 40 rounds per Mag.
Majestic
Semi-Automatic heavy revolver firing .53 heavy rounds.
Picked up from an abandoned weapons factory on earth during leave. Cylinder holds 6 rounds.

Pokemon:
Fuyu - Riley Stormshine
Name: Riley Stormshine
Age: 16
Species: Pikachu
Gender: Male
Job: His job is at a Pokemon cafe known as the Twister Zone. He works as a pastry maker and occasionally plays music for the guests. He'd play more if he could but he's not allowed.
Appearance: He is slightly taller than most Pikachu, reaching 1'6" instead of 1'4". Riley has fur the color of sunset yellow, the hairs just a bit sharp. His long ears sometimes droop down, making Riley look slightly dog-like. His eyes are a friendly green and his front paws are heavily callused. The normally red cheeks are also white and his brown marks remain the same shade. His left ear and bolt-shaped tail both bear scars, the former slightly faded. He has a red bandanna around his neck. Perhaps the most striking feature (and definitely most unusual) is the guitar strapped to his back, the black instrument almost as tall as he is. He will sometimes trip while carrying it, so Riley ends up bruised half of the time. He also has a mark on his right paw, a tattoo of a red sun. He says it's a symbol of his power, of his true state of being. His mother drew it herself. Most Pokemon think he's nuts but what do they know right?
Personality: Riley has a bit of a god complex. Okay, a large complex. He believes he is now Rivir incarnate and will eventually rise to power over all, king of the world! For now... he's just a weirdo with a love of baking. Hey, it's sugar! What the heck more do ya want? Yeah... Riley doesn't like swear words. He was swatted as a Pichu for imitating the older children and their curses. It hurt a lot. Oh well, he doesn't think about it. He's a cheerful, optimistic ball of electric fur and enjoys every second of that happiness. Riley has this other problem... he's very courageous and instinctual but he still analyzes almost everything to the point of neurosis. So these start to conflict and... he sometimes passes out. If he's lucky he gets a headache. He analyzes mostly because of cooking and baking, which requires him to be very careful with how much he shocks the berries. Riley is arrogant but not to the point of shoving his awesome in your face. He wants to but Auntie Fiona shoved manners up his tail. You don't mess with a Xatu. You just don't. The Pikachu's perfectly fine... just don't mention his tattoo.
Usually Riley is loud, curious, sometimes off the walls, and eating strawberries with sugar and this sweet plant he grinds into the poffins. He is only quiet when playing his amazing electric guitar. The Pikachu believes it's amazing, like him. I mean, how many yellow mice do you see with a rocking machine. (Well it's not the technical electric guitar but it is better than that ukelele he had!) He actually built it, with help from some friendly Steel-types and some other Pokemon of various typing. Anyway, when he is playing his guitar, he gets very quiet and intense, a whole other furball. Riley relaxes, the stress drops, the hyper goes to nil, and he wows the crowd. He's never that hyper, arrogant teenager when he plays.
Riley is loyal to the point of stupidity, despite his clearly unhinged mindset. He is fully aware of his difference (crazy) and what it's doing to him socially. So when he is trusted, accepted, befriended, it's almost like he clings and will follow them like a lost puppy. If he's betrayed, he will act very hurt and lost but deep down a part of him anticipates it and is rather bitter about the possibility. Though his outside behavior is almost completely real, there is a seriousness and intelligence that he keeps on the down low. He'd rather be a crazy god incarnate than that quiet freak with the music box any day. He's had that happen before. He does not smoke the freaking Razz leaves. Got it? Good.
History: Riley was born in Fardir Forest to a single mother. Yeah what? No, his dad unfortunately ran off, a treasure hunter and drawn to the possiblity of something created by Valkri. Was Riley's mom happy? God no but that was not something you showed to impressionable Pichu with eggshell still stuck to their head. Sadly there were not many Raichu or Pikachu in Fardir willing to assist in raising the already odd baby. Who volunteered? Why Fiona the Xatu! The kind yet slightly odd creature was a willing and helpful role model about the forest. Did that make him a normal child? No but it made him polite. Riley was relatively sane back then. Sure he occassionally made music with grass blades and asked for a ukelele for his seventh birthday but that was okay! He still had friends, loved sugar, and even could be pretty smart when the Pichu put his mind to it.
It was around this time he tried channelling electricity. He couldn't do it very well, not without his ukelele. He figured out how to do that in a thunderstorm one day. It was by pure accident when he went out into the storm. He got electrocuted and needed to discharge before he blew up. So while looking for a safe place to release a shock wave, he started playing reflexively, not noticing the electricity streaming out around him. When he finally did, Riley found most of it was gone and he could probably go home. Took him a few weeks what he did though.
It's about the age of eight when things start getting hazy. Nobody knows the precise details, not even Riley himself, about the weeks following his birthday. He disappeared, off to go explore a cave passerby had mentioned. He went alone of course, believing himself the bravest hero and a powerful adventurer! Now... the rumors say he got lost and hit his head in a fall before he returned home. Others say he was kidnapped and cursed before someone sent him to plague the forest. Riley? He believes Rivir awoke inside of him and led him home to his mother. His mom doesn't care, he's still alive. To celebrate this, she tattooed his paw. Two years later he evolved, as though waiting for something.
It was around the age of thirteen that his mother had enough and kicked him out. He had made his guitar by then and was starting to reach that teenage rebellion that signaled goodbye. So she sent him out to get a job. She didn't exactly plan for him to move out but whatever made him happy. He visited the village of Mirit in his travels, deciding against living there, stopping shop in the little village of Darim. A Spinda offered him job and board and he accepted. Riley's been entertaining and traumatizing ever since.
Moves: Quick Attack, Brick Break, Thunderbolt, Volt Tackle, Custom Move: Electro Jam- electric attacks originating from his guitar. He strums the strings, sometimes with a pick, sometimes not and it can be either music notes or just lightning. He charges it through the strings like he would the pouches in his cheeks and releases it around him. His ability is Lightning Rod, which can make him sick if he's not careful.
Otherworld9) - Sanya "Darky" Kikachu
Name: Sanya "Darky" Kikachu
Age: 19
Pokemon species: Zorua
Gender: Female
Job: Beginning Spy
Appearance: Sanya is a very slender Zorua, yet quite fragile. She's the average height for a Zorua, yet with a melancholic appearance. Her hair is quite silky, yet able to sustain the whorled scruff of fur on her head. Unlike other Zorua, she inherited the red eyes from her father, who her appearance came from. Sanya has red lines that descend from her eyes, making it appear as if she is crying. Her expression rarely changes, and her normal face expression looks as if she is frowning. Thanks to this, others mistake her for being depressed. She usually disguises herself as a Gothorita, having a liking to their species way of color scheme and shape.
Personality: Sanya is quite serious, reserved, calm, negative, and a bit shy. She rarely speaks unless spoken to, and tends to avoid getting into the spotlight. Having taken the personality of her father, she's also quite negative and doesn't like parties or loud noises much. Despite of this, she is very intelligent and thinks before she speaks. Friends to her are very dear, and doesn't consider them friends unless they have seen the true side of her. Not very talkative, she doesn't show her true emotions(like sadness, anger, or embarrasement) except to her true comrades, and tends to avoid personal conversations. She is rarely seen laughing, since she doesn't seem to enjoy jokes. Sanya dislikes sarcasm, yet she doesn't seem to notice herself when she uses it. However, when it comes to her true comrades, which are very few, she blossoms and reveals her true emotions and desires. To them, she is not afraid to speak her mind out and actually laugh. If she was to come into anger or stressed, she tries to hide away and become lonely for a while until the stress and anger had melted away.
To her, she needs to see to believe. It's hard for her to believe in a myth or rumor if she hasn't seen it for herself or has any reasoning to it. Sanya believes that actions decided by the heart instead of the brain are dangerous and too rash. Rarely does she use her heart to make decisions, since the only times she has, they ended up in tragedy. When it comes to battles, she is usually calm and takes control of the situation. What's most important to her is using illusions and disguises until she discovered her opponents battle style and skills. Once she figured something out, she shows her true self. When it comes to her ability Illusion, she doesn't chuckle nor laugh when it comes to battle, but when it is to simply play mischief when she is bored, she does so in a very child-like matter. She tends not to notice the mischief unless somebody points it out though.
She is highly perceptive, analytical, and likes to go into detail. Her honesty is complete, only lying if the truth wasn't believable to her. Loyalty to her is of the upmost importance. If a friend or anybody betrays her, whether small or great, she never forgets that event and starts to form a grudge against that pokemon. Her memory is quite normal, but she tends to remember even details if she thinks about it. She tends to be a pocrastinater, yet always does her job right. When feelings guilty or with thoughts, she doesn't hesitate to apologize or confront the problem. However, if it happens to be with an eilithian, her shyness may get in the way of dealing with the problem.
History: Her father and mother were there when she was born, yet her father was her idol for her entire childhood. Sanya's dad was a very famous spy, never caught and having extraordinary abilities and skills. His fur and color scheme was just like that of a shiny's, making him rather special. Having inherited both personality, and a few looks from her father, she wishes to become just like him in the future. It was until she had turned 6 that her father had been killed by a group of Haxorus. Eversince, she grew a hatred for the Haxorus species and evolution line. Her mother took care of her after that day, trying to avoid her from meeting outside strangers and secluding her from the outside world. Even so, the female Zoroark still took her daughter to school, yet was strict when it came to socialization and contact. Thanks to this, she grew very introvert and reserved, shaping her personality she has today. Another tragedy struck when she turned 13. That was when her mother died from a mysterious illness. Left alone and now an orphan, she decided to travel the entire land. In this time period, she was able to master her species ability, Illusion.
It was until she found the capital city of Arcia that she settled in by herself. One year later, she was being witnessed by a local spy-in-training as Sanya practiced her abilities as a Zorua. Impressed, the grovyle named Drake reported to his boss about the mysterious Zorua that showed excellent skills and cunning ability. Pondering over Drake's attitude towards the cunning, yet young eilithian, the leader still appointed her for training. Sanya was shocked at the news, barely the age of 14 when she was hired in as a student at the agency. It took three long, tiresome years to be a beginning spy. She now works with Drake, yet both rarely work together since with their abilities alone they can handle a mission. When they do however, they make a great team. Both are cunning and serious about everything. Eventually, he got her the nickname of "Darky" from the way she seemed dark and cold at times, when in reality that was just her average looks. The years passed, the leader of the agency still giving her easy missions since she was still young. To this day, she wishes to know the move Night Daze to honor her parent's death. Knowing she was still too young, she sometimes tries to attempt it when she's by herself.
Moves: Faint attack, Snarl, Thief, Shadow Ball, and Illusion(ability)
Illusion is the special ability that only Zorua and Zoroark can perform. It allows them to change their physical appearance. Unlike transform, this is merely an illusion to confuse the foe and letting the user keep their own type and moves.
Otherworld9) - Nathaniel Excifer
Name: Nathaniel Excifer
Age: 25
Pokemon species: Gallade
Gender: Male
Job: Lumberjack
Appearance: Nathaniel is a rather emotionless guy. He doesn't show emotion, and doesn't change expressions unless their emotions really hit him hard. He looks like any other Gallade, yet has a rather small teal-colored head crest. Reaching five feet in height and having wide feet, his spikes on the side of his face are larger than normal for a Gallade. Instead of having a spike between the white and green boundaries of his colored body, it's a simple straight line just above his torso. He has a scar running vertically over his eye, clearly visible on his eyelid. The scar stretches all the way from the edge of the helmet over his eye, and runs straight down to stop at his cheek. He has a muscular body, not really as skinny as his kind is.
Spoiler:
Personality: Nathaniel is a very quiet, obedient, loyal guy. He's very honest and doesn't hesitate to jump in to save the day. He's an introvert however, preffering to spend time alone, quiet and quite reflective. He likes to think and ponder, always thinking before he speaks his mind out. Rather than listening to his guts, he believes and learns using his five senses. He won't believe unless he sees it, so mythology and rumors are useless to him. He has a hard time believing in something that cannot me seen. Nathaniel usually uses common sense, and likes concrete, detailed facts. To him, work is his passion. Rarely gets bored, and rarely socializes unless spoken to.
However, his decisions are mostly based on logic. When it comes to this, he may not take other's feelings into consideration unless they are loved ones, and doesn't base his decisions on emotions unless they truly take over him, such as love or hatred. Others see him as lacking compassion due to this, yet in reality he just sees decisions based on emotions very reckless. He can easily see the flaws of others, and only helps those who have helped him. Nathaniel is a very orderly, organizational Gallade, able to stick to his goals and never veer off his path unless the moment asks for it. To him, work is more important than playing. He is careful about what he has and is an earlybird.
His hobbies vary. Nathaniel's main hobbies are playing using his elbows as swords, running, sketching, and sky viewing. He tends to be lazy and sit most of his time when out of work, looking at either the clouds or the stars. A very artistic drawer, he also cuts up dead trees to make sculptures of art. This may also be with rocks, ice, or anything of the sort. Nathaniel is very intelligent, relying on his terrain and observations much of the time. When it comes to friends, he's very connected to them and finds it a very delicate matter. Once he has one, which is hard to get, he cherishes them and had complete, utter loyalty to them. To him, true friends are rare, and possibly impossible. To them, he reveals everything about anything, and is a very docile person towards them and nobody else.
History: He was born into a very rich family, also hardworking. His father had a high position as one who controls Lumberjacks at what to cut and such, being the main boss. As a male, he was passed down the job as a Lumberjack as part of his famly's culture eversince he turned 10. Before this, he was rather spoiled and lonely, having no siblings or friends. His mother died at a young age, only being 5 years old. He wanted to make his mother proud, thus going to school and exceling in his studies by a huge amount. Finally, when he turned 10, he started to work as a Lumberjack and got out of school to devote his time as one. By this time period, he was a male Kirlia. Other Lumberjacks noticed how he was having trouble as a Lumberjack, since he was a pure psychic at the time. His father told him to give up and find a better job that suits his intelligence and species type.
Being obedient and listening to his father, he decided to be a waiter as a local restaurant. At first, he enjoyed the job since he started to make acquaintances, yet started to yearn for his familie's tradition of passing down jobs. He moved it aside since he knew it was impossible for a psychic to do labor, and thus changed to being a scientist. Everything went well until he evolved into a Gallade at the age of 18, the peak age of his young adulthood. His father saw this as an opportunity and taught him to fight to defend himself. After a year, Nathaniel started to Lumberjack once more. At last, he was able to excel thanks to his elbows that cut like swords. When he turned 23, his father retired and was old of age, being 57. Nathaniel kept his job, yet still used his intelligence for simple mind games like Sudoku, Checkers, and other such games.
Moves: Leaf Blade, Teleport, Confusion, Psycho Cut, Night Slash, and Sword Dance.

First Contact (T)
The Collision between Two Worlds
The Collision between Two Worlds
Spoiler:

Respite, Deimos class corvette
![[PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC [PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC](https://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Gtcvdeimos.jpg)
![[PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC [PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC](https://fc07.deviantart.net/fs47/i/2009/252/8/1/Hind_by_marines203.png)

The Enemy:
Spoiler:
![[PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC [PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC](https://www.hard-light.net/wiki/images/Shivans.jpg)

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

![[PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC [PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC](https://www.online-multiplayer.com/bf2142/images/weapons/p33.gif)
Spoiler:
Name: Alex "Hyena" Sherman
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Job: Marine (Lance Corporal)
Appearance:
Spoiler:
![[PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC [PokeCommunity.com] First Contact [T] SU/OOC](https://media.moddb.com/images/groups/1/2/1503/med_gallery_3_274_903071.jpg)

Spoiler:
Spoiler:
