News: Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon top the best selling video games list for Japan in 2017

Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon sold 2,198,231 units during the 2017 financial year (March 2017 - March 2018) in Japan making them the highest selling video games for that period. Other titles in the top-selling list included Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Dragon Quest and more. Despite being released much later in the year, Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon still managed to snatch the top spot which is pretty impressive and just goes to show how popular Pokémon remains in Japan!

This is the funniest thing I've heard all day. If it were still yesterday, I'd think this was some sort of prank.

USUM was just a re-release of SM with DLC like features that should of been in the first game. Japan seems to drool over anything Pokemon related. With this kind of popularity GF will keep up with this sort of laziness.
