    Ohayou~

I'm terrible at introductions, so... yeah. :s

    I've been programming for about ten years as a hobby, and I'm entirely self-taught, though I'm about to start working toward my degree. I started with Game Maker, but now I've played with about everything I can get my hands on, and I've been doing a lot with Android programming recently. I've got a lot of project ideas in mind, but I'm really not sure what all I'm going to end up developing. And... I guess that's it? ^-^;;

    -Edit-
Oh! I forgot to add stuff about pokeymans. I prefer the first generation over anything that's been released since, and my parties in the different games usually reflect that (in fact, I've barely played White because I can't get any of them yet. T^T). The first Pokémon game I'd played was my friend's copy of Blue, but I got my father to send me a version of Green while he was deployed in Japan.

Cool! So, based off of your development, I guess that means you like Java then..?
    Very nice.

Welcome to PokeCommunity, I hope you enjoy your stay here. :D
Don't be afraid to post, we don't bite. Try to enjoy yourself.

Actually, I'm not that big a fan of Java.. but Apple's market is too restrictive, and developing for my Windows Phone would break my recent OpenGL obsession. :s

Right now, I'm working on a HG/SS-style rendering system for Android with OpenGL ES 2.0, though the platform's fighting me every step of the way (I blame my Sony tablet).

Yeah... It's really too bad that Apple blocks, deletes, and controls their app store the way they do.

And a HG/SS rendering system? Nice. I have never done any coding in OpenGL personally. (I've primarily used the oh-so-easy SDL libraries) But good luck with your development..!

    Arigatou~ ^-^

I learned a lot from using SDL, but I got bored of the easy stuff. It's so much more fun to get into the small details of graphics programming!

    Hey no problem... :D

And I imagine it would be fun to get down to low level graphics programming I might actually do that sometime in the near future. I know I always like low-level coding, where you don't rely on anything by anyone else, you abstract things yourself, the level in which mistakes are yours alone, it's just you, and the code. It's always fun.

Hey there and welcome! You seem very impressed with programming, good for you! I'm also into programming and will be attending college for it in a little while. Anyways first gen was great and no matter what, i find you cant beat the originals. Anyways hope you enjoy yourself, hope you like it here and hope to see you around! :)

    Oh wow, that's quite impressive!
It's cool to see someone so dedicated to programming. I love the idea of programming since it's just so vast and rapidly expanding, just thinking about the things you can do with coding is fun. I just have a hard time processing all of the different commands though, to where i'm constantly referring to books when i'm trying to code something.
I've gotten OK at it though! Variables, methods, loops, if & when, and all that jazz...

I'm actually going to college for Computer Animation, more geared towards Game Art and Design, and we get to work closely with the students who are in the Game Development Program (which is basically all about programming engines and stuff) and while a lot of them say it's very tough and requires a lot of hard work, they say it's very rewarding overall.

Good luck with your programming and studies, and welcome to the community!
